Born and raised in Pakistan, Palo Alto dentist Dr. Din went to dental School in Peshawar, Pakistan and graduated in 1979. To fulfill his dreams and pursue excellence in Dentistry, Dr. Din migrated to San Jose, CA in 1981. After going through rigorous testing procedures he earned his license to practice Dentistry in California in 1984. He has been practicing in the bay area ever since he had his private practice in San Jose which he sold and moved to Palo Alto as of January 2006.
In his years as a Palo Alto dentist, Dr. Din has been continuously keeping himself up to date on constantly evolving new technology as well as new procedures. It is part of the duties of every dental professional to seek continuing education in an effort to meet the needs of patients more effectively. He is a graduate of many prestigious post graduate institutes like FACE, Tucker Institute, AgPO and Aesthetic Professionals to name few. His hunger for knowledge and innovation puts him in the place that is advantageous to his patients. The extra courses he attends, properly equips him to meet patients concerns with better success. In a fast evolving world, you want a dentist who is able to cope with the changes and Dr. Din is able to sufficiently address these changes.
He loves doing all disciplines of dentistry but he has great a affinity towards Aesthetic Dentistry which is the field of practice concerned in the enhancement of a patients smile. Because of his continuous education and experience in all fields of General Dentistry, he is able to perform comprehensive diagnoses and provides most of the service in-office.
Dr. Din is happily married to Abida Bibi and has six children. He is actively involved in the community and loves spending spare time with his family. Dentistry is a profession of providing service to the people. Outside his career, Dr. Din continues to extend service, in the best way he can.

I had a great experience in Dr. Din's office from the moment I entered the door til the time I left. The hygienist is always happy and friendly and has great suggestions for dental floss!!!

Been there several times. They plan wise so absolutely no waiting time. Also there are two doctors I've seen, and both are super gentle. They take the time and not rushing anything. You better get your dental work done right without rushing than having disasters after. Love this place and haver been telling everyone to you there. Could be couple bucks expensive looking but overall you realize that it is more health and cost effective to do your dental work here. Thank you Dr. Dina and Dr. Din

Dr Din and his staff ( Lorelei, Natalie and everyone else at the clinic) are not only kind, but so gracious and accommodating. He has SAVED my teeth from root canals and really listens to what I want as a patient, which is not something many dentists do ( believe me, I had seen MANY before finding this gem) . The day Dr Din retires will be an unfortunate day for my teeth because he has earned my trust time and time again. Don't even hesitate to have him as your dentist if he's accepting new patients. You won't regret it.

Dr. Din and his team are exceptional! They have the friendliest office and always take the time to ask about us and our children. Dr. Din is incredibly professional and I trust him to make the best, most informed decisions about our dental care. Both my husband and I were fitted with nighttime mouth guards (splints) and they have made a world of difference! Highly recommend Dr. Din and his practice to anyone in the Bay Area.

Dr Din is a legend! For so many people the dentist is something they avoid and expect discomfort at- Dr Din and his fantastic team ensure the experience is everything but. His positive energy and enthusiasm for his work are a joy to be around- he so clearly loves what he does and takes great pride in his skills. Dr Din is a perfectionist which I appreciate as I'm pedantic with my teeth. From the receptionist to the hygienist- the whole team is warm and welcoming. Bonus for Dr Din's amazing ability to make a shot in the gums not hurt at all! I've referred a ton of people over the 7 years I've been seen Dr Din and they've all come back gushing.

This is an amazing dentist. The staff are very professional, they listen carefully to your concerns, and offer several options on how to get the needed attention. All the work I have had done has been done with special attention to my comfort, and financial needs. A friendy profesional staff. I have recommended the most nervous of my friends to this group, and they have all been very glad.

This place isn't what it used to be. I was a patient for over seven years and used to believe Dr. Din and his team prided themselves on their work and customer service. Over the years, the work has severely declined - to the point where I feel obligated to write this review to warn others. The last thing I want to do is shop for a new dentist, but I've hit a point where returning to this office feels irresponsible. I came in for a regular check-up/cleaning this January and they performed a 'Deep Clean' instead. I was never told this visit was going to cost extra or that the work they were doing was going to come with charges beyond the standard cleaning fee. They presented it as if it was an ordinary course and proceeded with the cleaning without asking me whether I wanted to proceed with something that was different from the cleanings they'd provided over the last several years. They weren't able to finish the first cleaning in one visit so they had me come back a second time. I received no explanation at either visit of the additional work that was being done and the costs associated with it. I was then handed a bill for over $800 (post-insurance coverage). I was shocked by this and asked for a breakdown of the fees. There were multiple line items of unnecessary costs that drove up the bill. I followed up with the billing department and the front desk multiple times, both via email and phone, to try to understand these additional costs and have been ignored each time. This is a stark contrast from when I've required dental work and Dr. Din personally answered my calls, calling me "friend". The bottom line is that this office will take advantage of you wherever possible and overwhelm you with messages and reminders about dental work but ignore you the second something comes up that doesn't equate to profit. I am so disappointed by the way Dr. Din and his office have handled this situation with a long-time patient.

Doctor Ala Din is the best. He has been my family dentist for two decades plus. Being at the dentist for me gives me anxiety. I know I'm in good hands at Doctor D's. He and his staff are kind and care about you. They are all always positive. He keeps up with technology and does better than his best with my treatment plan. If it wasn't for how great they are I would probably avoid treatment. I am so thankful for him and his staff. They have helped me save teeth!

Dr. Din methodically explains the work he is doing and approaches your teeth with a sense of artistry. The hygienist does an excellent job and the office staff are accommodating and friendly. As a whole, the dental care is excellent and the service is personable and unassuming.
