Akron Dental Clinic is family-owned and operated in Akron, CO. For over 20 years we have treated every patient like they were a part of our family. Other dental offices offer similar services, but our services come with a small town personal touch.
Dr. Heather Wright was raised in Akron, COand graduated from Akron High School. She graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2006 where she received her BA and DDS degrees. Dr. Wright continued her dental training completing a general practice residency at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She was awarded the resident of the year award and was asked to return for a second year as chief resident for the program. After completing her training at Brooklyn Methodist, Dr. Wright worked in a private practice in New York City across from the United Nations.
Dr. Wright is a third generation dentist and answered the call to serve the communities of Akron and Northeastern Colorado when her mother, Dr. Peggy Wright retired. She is a certified Lumineers provider, trained in dental implant placement and restoration, and provides a full line of modern comprehensive dental care including esthetic tooth restoration and whitening.
Dr. Wright donates her time to lecture school children on the importance of oral hygiene with office and classroom visits, provides screening services for 9NewsHealthFair, and has provided her expertise on dental mission trips, including treating patients with no access to a dentist in Venezuela.
In her free time, Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with her husband Dan and two small children, Ben (3) and Clark (1). She also enjoys gardening and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Dr. Wright is excited to be living in Colorado; serving the community she grew up in.

I hadn't seen a dentist since I was a kid (roughly 20 years) I was having trouble and pain with my front tooth, turns out I needed a root canal. I was a bit nervous from hearing horror stories about those, but Dr. Wright and her assistant, Val were very kind, non judgemental and helpful to me. After one appointment my pain was virtually gone and on the second, when they finished, the tooth was better than normal. Within 2 weeks my problem was (virtually) solved. I would recommend anyone to pay them a visit for your dental needs. They are very professional, prompt, and definitely know what they're doing. Thank you for taking care of me!

My husband and I both had a thorough cleaning, cavities filled and one filling replaced, we had a wonderful experience! I haven't been into the office for 10+ years. I'll definitely be making this my oral hygienist of choice from now on. Thank you girls!

Went to Dr. Wright for a second opinion on some dental work I needed. She took the time to thoroughly explain what I needed to get done, why, and on what timeline. I appreciated her honesty and attention to detail. She is a fantastic dentist!

Dr. Wright is an amazing dentist. I have known her for years. Every time I have had to have any kind of work done she would spend time making sure I understood exactly what she was going to do (and why) and answered any questions I had about what to expect. I should state, I am a TERRIBLE dental patient, so I know I'm not easy and she has been nothing but supportive, informative, professional and just nice. I highly recommend her and her practice.

I really don't have the words to express my appreciation for having such a great dentist in Northeastern Colorado. Recently, my dad had cracked a tooth and was in pain. Dr. Wright was there for our family without hesitation. She was professional, warm, and caring. She went above and beyond for us and was amazing to work with. We are lucky to have her in our community!!
