Dr. Aki Shirakura attended dental school in Buffalo, New York. He completed three additional intense years of full-time training in Prosthodontics at Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester. He then worked as an associate in a large well-known family practice in Hudson Valley and has been teaching dental prosthetics at Lutheran/NYU Medical Center in both Brooklyn and Manhattan.Dr. Aki Shirakura participates in continuing education courses that focus on the latest advancements in dentistry and always offers the latest in current dental treatment.He is fully invested in the care and treatment of all of our patients.
Theresa Mazzella RDH, attended New York City Technical College for dental hygiene. She has practiced for over 35 years. She has two sons, James and Hunter and a fur baby, her dog Rocky. Theresa is part of our Hygienist Dynamic Duo. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise helps us keep our promise to our patients to keep them educated and informed about the health of their teeth.
Every dental practice needs someone at the helm to keep all the pieces moving forward. Miyuki is that person for us! As our Business Administrator, Miyuki makes sure the office is primed and ready to give our patients the best possible care and experience each and every time they visit us. A graduate of Dokkyo University in Japan and Pace University here, Miyuki has been with Dr. Aki since our office opened its doors and is an integral part of our success.
She has worked in the industry for 32 years.When shes not here taking care of our family, she is taking care of her own wonderful family, husband Andre, son Thomas, and her 2 fur babies, shelties, Piper and Lily. The newest member of our team, EJ Flynn is our Marketing Manager. She brings to us over 25 years of business experience and expertise. Always striving to make people smile, EJ entered the dental industry after seeing how a full mouth make over transformed her best friend. It was amazing the effect her smile had on her.
To see her first wide open, toothy smile and the new confident person behind it was absolutely priceless. She is a proud mother of one amazing little girl, a published author and a huge sports fan. She is very excited to be joining the team and looks forward to meeting all of our patients.
Carlos is our on-site dental technician. He has over 35 years of dental technician experience and has been with us since the practice opened. He attended the Dental Program at Federico Villarreal University in Lima, Peru and the New York City College of Technology Department of Restorative Dentistry in Brooklyn, NY.Having Carlos on-site is an important part of how we give the care and attention we do for our patients.

I have been very pleased with this office. When I had broken teeth or tooth pain, which I've had several times, recently, they been very good about giving me a prompt appointment and fixing it. Also, after a filling, sometimes I've had a high point, and Dr. Shirakura has been very good about bringing me right back in to fix it. Dr. Shirakura has a very nice personality. I have had a little bit of problems recently with him not keeping his mask over his nose, but otherwise I really like him. The reception people are really charming. The office location is very attractive. It's an old building, which has the feeling of a New England bed-and-breakfast to it.

I have no idea where to begin! Dr. Shirakura and his staff are simply amazing! I was one of those that hated to even drive by a dentists office, but now I cant wait to go and get my cleanings, check ups, etc. The staff is super helpful and caring and knowledgable. Dr. Shirakura is a master! You can tell he loves his work and cares for his patients. If you are hesitant in going to dentist, then I highly recommend you see Dr. Shirakura, all your fears will go away!

De Shirakura is kind and has a lot of patience I am a total wreck when I have to go to the dentist. Also f with that he is an artist and a perfectionist especially when it comes to new teeth or veneers. I would recommend him highly and the fact he still puts up with me is amazing.

Been going to this practice for 20 yrs (before Dr Aki took over) yesterday had their newest dentist on staff put in 2 crowns and it was painless. i would highly recommend this practice! Plus the office staff are so helpful!
