Here at Aiken Family Dentistry, our passion is in restoring smiles to their original condition. Whether that is by simply seeing you every six months for your cleaning or a more involved path to oral health, we are here for you. Our practice has been a pillar in the community for over 60 years. We are a family focused practice and see patients as young as one year old all the way to several patients who are well into their nineties.
Dr. Sean Aiken is from Atlanta, Georgia and brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. Dr. Aiken was an NCAA Division 1 athlete and team captain at The College of William & Mary in Virginia where he lettered for 4 years in baseball. Heobtained a masters degree fromLouisville's Medical School inPhysiology andBiophysics before continuing on to Louisville'sDental School where he earned an additionalMaster's Degree in Oral Biology and his DMD.Dr. Aiken earned the Community Outreach Scholarshipand James C. Moore Scholarship forhis academics andpassion forcommunityservice while in school. He is also very involved with dentistrys top professional organization, being chosen as the District 6 trustee for the New Dentist Committee of the ADA. When not at the office, he enjoys working on house projects, spending time with his wife, Dr. Taylor Hodge, and their English Shepherd, Tucker.
Dr. Taryn Wilson grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky. She spent a lot of time around dentistry throughout her childhood, as her parents are both dentists. Dr. Wilson attended Western Kentucky University and the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. After moving to Louisville for dental school, she and her husband, Dylan, fell in love with the city and decided to make it their home. It is important to Dr. Wilson to stay up to date on the latest techniques and practices for excellent dental care, so she spends time attending continuing education courses across the country to perfect her craft. Outside of dentistry, she loves exercising, reading, and spending time outside with her husband Dylan, her son Salem, and her goldendoodle Nora
Pam has been with the practice since since it began and has been treating hygiene patients for almost 40 years. Her name is synonymous with the practice at this point. She loves taking care of her patients and her patients certainly love her. When not at the office, Pam enjoys playing golf and tennis or watching her beloved Louisville Cardinals. An excellent hygienist and a devoted Cards fan, she is central to our patient experience. Pam works with our office on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Sonya was new to the office in 2018 but has quickly become a favorite amongst our patients. She began working as a dental assistant in 2001 during high school. Sonya immediately fell in love with dentistry, declared a major prior to starting college and never strayed from it. After graduating from USIs dental hygiene program, she earned a second degree - her bachelors in health services. Sonya sees patients at our office on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and select Fridays. When not scavenging plaque, Sonya loves spending time outdoors hiking, biking and camping with her husband, two dogs and two little boys.
While originally a Florida native, Danielle has been calling Louisville home for 12 years now. When not at the office, she enjoys spending her time doing anything outdoors; from hiking to camping to kayaking. Danielle has been passionate about dentistry from a young age because she loves to see the ways that a beautiful, healthy smile can boost a persons confidence and overall quality of life! We are lucky to have Danielle work with our team on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Mia graduated with a Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Louisville and has been in the dental field since 2003. She started as an orthodontic assistant and became so passionate about the dental field that it inspired her to further her education by becoming a Dental Hygienist. She prides herself on building trusting relationships with our patients and educating them based on their individual needs. Mia is married with two children and enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Mia currently works with our office on Fridays.
Bridget joined the practice when Dr. Aiken came on board in Summer 2018 and brings over 10 years of experience in dentistry with her to the practice. Bridget is qualified as an expanded duties dental assistant, undertaking additional training to be able to place fillings and do coronal polishing. She has a bright personality and always has a smile on her face. When not in the office, Bridget enjoys spending time with her husband and two twin girls, Riley and Evelyn.
Christie comes to our team after having worked 7 years in dentistry. She is a certified EDDA meaning that she can place fillings, polish teeth and work side by side with our doctors to deliver the highest level of care. Christie has 3 children, two boys and a girl, and spends her weekends at the baseball fields all around Kentuckiana. Christie also is dual-trained and works the front desk, helps with insurance claims and scheduling, and is a true dental nerd who loves teeth!
Laura may be shy about adding a picture to her bio, but she serves as our insurance coordinator here at Aiken Family Dentistry. With a background in education, Laura is patient, considerate and well versed in all things insurance.
You may see Tucker meandering around the office on slower days, looking to provide a relaxing outlet and a smile during your dental visit. Despite his ability to sleep on the job, Tucker is a valuable member of the team at Aiken Family Dentistry as well
Katie is new to the dentistry world, but has proven to be a fast learner and a great asset to our team. She has grown to love the field of dentistry and her interactions with patients. Her favorite part is feeling like she is a part of making a difference in their lives. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her significant other Josh, & their two children - Liam and Layla
