Dr. Michael Agniniopened his first dental office, Agnini Family Dental, near Southgate shopping center, in Lakeland, Florida, in 1979. The office was relocated to the north end of town in 1993, on Lakeland Hills Blvd, across from Tiger Town. Dr. Mike and his wife Donna, who was his office manager and assistant, worked out of a small facility. When theirtwo sons, Matt and Drew, decided to go to dental school Dr. Mike knew growth was in the future.
In 2004, the Drs. Agnini opened an annex office just five blocks from their original office on the south side of town. This extra facility somewhat alleviated their crowded conditions, however three doctors in two offices designed for one doctor each, did not resolve their problems.
Buying an existing dental office on Oak Drive across from the Southgate Publix, in 2006, gave each doctor his own building. Dr. Mikes dream was to practice with his sons, not in separate buildings, but together.
This dream came to fruition when they opened their brand new, state of the art facility in January 2009. Located on the corner of Lakeland Hills Blvd. and Bella Vista, it is complete with three waterfalls and 13 operatories. This unique, Key West style office allows patients to receive the latest in dental technology in a full-service dental facility while enjoying a relaxed, stress free environment.
Keeping their Southgate office gives their patients the convenience of two Lakeland locations. New additions to the Agnini Dental family, include Ashley, Dr. Mike and Donnas daughter, who joined them in 2009, to practice dental hygiene. Ashley has since returned to school to work on her doctorate of dental medicine.
Dr. Mike has often said that it was beyond his wildest dream that his entire family would be working along side of him in the practice of dentistry. This is a proud legacy he can leave to his sons and daughter, and they can pass down to their children as future generations of dentists at Agnini Family Dental.

Dr. Michael Agnini graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1972. He received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University in 1967 and also completed one year of graduate training in Biology. Dr. Mike served in the United States Air Force, Dental Corps, for two years, completing a rotating specialty dental training. He served as a dental examiner for the Florida State Board of Dentistry from 1980-1983.
Dr. Mike is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Polk County Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, the International Association for Orthodontics (Diplomate), the International Association of Dental Facial Esthetics (Fellow), the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.
Dr. Mike has completed over 1300 hours of continuing education in orthodontics, the treatment of TMJ, and sleep disorders. He is a Senior Certified Instructor with the International Association for Orthodontics and has taught orthodontics internationally. He also authored an article in the IAO journal in 2007.

We have a special story to tell, as we have a son that is on ASD, no one could make him sit without calm or fright. We padt up many dental offices that were just not the right fit. They all made our son feel fear and gave him hives with the sound of the instruments and equipment he noticed. This office and staff were heaven sent. After almost 4 years of service, driving almost 2 hours from our home; we have nothing but great things to say about Palm Tree Orthodontics, Dr Agnini and Tiffany, they have always made it very comfortable for him and myself as the worried parent, thinking he would storm out as with other offices he'd been seen at. At Palm Tree they were accommodating to our needs and specially his needs. Allowing my presence at every encounter. If you are looking for a place that is welcoming, accepting, inviting, non-judgmental of you or your children's needs, this is definately the office to visit. After the horror of chipping my tooth I was thankful to find agnini dental. Dr Sarah her assistant Nicole and Heather up front we're all so kind, informative, professional, and truly cared how upset and nervous I was. My teeth look perfect now and I'm so grateful that I found such an amazing dentist. Thank you for making me smile again.

Ever since my wife and I moved from Tampa to Winter Haven, we've had a tough time finding a great dentist. But the minute you walk into the Agnini office, you see just how different it is. Their staff is highly-trained, always smiling, and incredibly helpful. And I was told on my first visit that I really didn't need a procedure that a prior dentist was trying to sell me on. Every experience I have had there has been exceptional. By far the most honest, hard-working, and fun dental group in central Florida!

I have had extreme dental anxiety most of my life. If you're anything like me, you need a dental practice that understands the anxiety and is skilled in addressing it. I was highly impressed with literally EVERYONE at this office. The office staff, the intake coordinator, the x-ray technician and the dentist were not just friendly and welcoming, they showed me they understood the anxiety and explained what to expect. Even the ocean colors and seaside-like furnishings were calming. I left the office smiling.

This is terrific dental practice. I can't picture going anywhere else. They are wonderful, professional, caring and gentle. The atmosphere in the whole building is welcoming and the decor is delightful.
