I started going to Dr. Zarei when I lived in Coralville, because it was close and convenient. My wife had to have some dental work done, and she was really impressed with his skills and his pain management. Dr. Zarei told me that dental work should not hurt. If it hurts, they will find another way to do it. I've since moved further away, but I keep coming back. He is good. He knows his stuff. He is up to date on all of the latest techniques. I would highly recommend Dr. Zarei. 2022 Update -- it really bothers me that the insurance companies care more about their bottom line, than whether the people that pay for the insurance get good dental care. The insurance companies are jerking Dr. Zarei around, and I'd rather change insurance companies than change dentists.

Dr Afsie is wonderful! He was patient and kind, answered all my questions. I was seen and treated in a week. I did not have any pain during the procedure or at home afterwards. He has a sense of humor and a contagious smile. I highly recommend Afsie Dental care for anyone.

Dr. Zarei does an excellent job. He is very efficient and makes going to the dentist a very pleasant experience. I have always left very pleased with how clean my teeth look!

I have never left a google review for medical care before, but Dr. Zarei is so good at his job I can't keep it to myself! I was very nervous after not going to a dentist in several years and Dr. Z's friendliness and obvious passion and expertise put me at ease immediately. Dr. Zarei is so knowledgeable not just about dentistry in general--he stays up to date on the best practices for dentists and patients and makes sure to explain what he's recommending and why. For example, many hygienists and patients over brush teeth leading to more wear over time, so Dr. Z instead uses a less heavy hand when polishing teeth and offers optional bleaching included in a standard visit, to help patients not be tempted to over brush themselves. Additionally, I have a permanent retainer and one spot of especially receding gum, so Dr. Z kindly showed me how best to clean those areas. He did not over-diagnose, but showed me areas in my X-rays to keep an eye on. He was honest about the severity of these areas, or lack thereof, and left me feeling clean, confident, and better informed about my oral hygiene. Cannot recommend strongly enough!

I have terrible anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I went 5 + years without a cleaning and many more with cavities and a chipped tooth. Last week I had an old filling fall out from my front tooth. I was instantly terrified but knew I needed to find a dentist. I read DR. Z's reviews and after days of texting back and forth with him I was finally ready to take the leap. When my husband and I arrived Dr. Z was so kind. He took the time to talk to me and he continued to talk and keep me calm through the entire procedure. I plan to continue treatment with Dr.Z. I am beyond thankful!

I had completely dislodged a front tooth and in a panic called three different places that would not or could not take me in for urgent care. Upon calling Dr. Z, he told me I could come in immediately. I am deeply grateful for his genuine interest in helping his patients, as well as his knowledge, humor, and handiwork that calmed down my anxiety and fears regarding my situation. Thank you, Dr. Z! Unfortunately, I had an operation at this dentist. Before the operation, the surface of my front teeth was smooth. The first night I left this dentistry, a whole piece of my front teeth fell off. Later I want to transfer to other dentistry. I have asked this dentist many times to give me my X-rays and medical records, but they all evaded me in various ways, and even refused to answer my phone. This dentist has two faces and they looked so rude after the accident. I will sue them!I know what country this is. I have lived in this country for 7 years. You don't need malicious racial discrimination. My front teeth are broken in your dentistry. You don't need to quibble anymore. Let go of your hypocritical face. I kindly asked you to send me a copy of my X-ray before, but you refused. Why is it so friendly now? What are you hiding? what are you worried about?

Words can't describe how wonderful Dr. Zarei is. He is caring, passionate, and extremely professional. After years of poor dental hygiene and some serious dental anxiety, I finally took the steps to better my teeth. They were really bad. He performed 2 root canals and later was able to fit me with a partial. He doesn't judge and will only show you kindness. He truly is a one of a kind man and dentist. Don't hesitate any longer and give Afsie Dental a call. Thank you so much!!!!

My old Dentist wanted to put braces on my daughter when she was 7 and didn't have all her permanent teeth and I didn't have insurance at the time. Doctor Zari pulled her fangs and gave her a spacer and all her teeth turned around and she never needed braces!!! So much cheaper!!! I started bringing my Daughter to you about 25 years ago and now my Sister, Brother, my Niece and Myself and even a few of my Friends even come here now!!! I look forward to my visits and have never had a problem with you!!! Thank you for being such a good Dentist!!! Donna Gingerich

Dr. Z shared more information with me about my teeth and my x-rays than any other dentist I have visited. His explanations were thorough and very helpful. I really liked being able to see my x-rays as he pointed out what was going on with my teeth and offered various options in how to move forward. Dr Z is not only very knowledgeable in dentistry, but he also understands what is covered and not covered by insurance. He works with you to be sure you understand what your insurance covers. He is very personable and is your only contact within the office. I felt he really understood me and my teeth. He took the time to get to know me. Plus, he makes sure all your questions are answered before you leave his office. I highly recommend Dr. Z.

First time I came to this place I felt valued and was taken very good care off. One of my front teeth was broken and he fixed it. This was such a great moment cos I finally got my smile back but I was advised it could break from chewing bones or cutting open boxes. So my took eventually broke again after about 2-3wks during Christmas and new year period. But thank God this man was very understanding and fixed my teeth again. Now I am very careful with my teeth so that it doesn't break again. More to that, I would definitely use his services again

Dr Zarei is awesome! So friendly and funny and makes you feel at home. He fixed the chips in my front teeth and I almost cried because how great they looked. He even checked in a few days later to make sure I had no sensitivity or problems. I trust him fully with my teeth, he is amazing at his job! I will be going to him for all my dental needs from now on.

I always come here to clean my teeth, and I have to say Zavash is the most friendly dentist that I have ever met in America. He is not only professional but also very patient. Whenever I was in trouble with my tooth, I send him message and he always reply me with professional suggestions at first, and then arrange me an appointment. I am leaving here to New York, and I seriously doubt I can meet any dentist like Zavash.

This dentist is really nice, i broke my rear tooth, he got me in the same day for a quick check and then set appointment to have 2 teeth pulled and 3 cavities drilled and filled. It only took an hour to do all of that work! Really impressed by the price, plus he gave me a discount! Very happy with his work.

My teeth were hurting really bad recently that keeps me from sleeping. I have to see a dentist, so I'm here trying to find out what's going on. Doc. Zavash was really good at finding the problem and explaining solutions to me. We went through many tests and finally found the problem, it's the wisdom teeth that make me so painful. At first I wanted to get teeth cleaned and clean the cavity, but Zavash said he didn't want my pain going further. I'm grateful that he can be so patient and friendly. And he also taught me how to correctly brush teeth which could be a major thing. I mean I really had a good experience here. BYW, I really like the decorations here, it relax me a lot.

The doctor has a great sense of humor and really prioritized my comfort throughout the entire visit. By far the absolute BEST Dr. I have ever seen!! I had 3 infected teeth, one was broken also! I got in THE DAY I called, he also scheduled me to come back a couple days later ON HIS DAY OFF to fix what would normally take multiple appointments anywhere else. I cannot be any more happier that I found a dentist that actually cares! He took time to explain every step of the way & what he was going to do. Do not hesitate to schedule an appointment here! I will most definitely be back, I'm so so so happy with my results! Thank you Dr!!! 10 stars!!!
