Dr. Nyakundi is personable, and well-trained. His love of dentistry and concern for high level patient care is very evident. Dr. Nyakundi is passionate about providing quality health care, which he believes can improve patients quality of life.
Dr. Nyakundi was born and raised in Kenya, and relocated to Boston, MA in 2004. He attended Boston College High School, and was a member of the National Honors Society, National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine Scholar, and a Boston Herald Newspaper Teen Correspondent. He also devoted a significant amount of time volunteering in several community service initiatives as well as holding a part time job working with patients at Massachusetts General Hospital, earning a Partners in Excellence Award in 2006.
Dr. Nyakundi graduated from Boston College (BC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. During his time at BC, Dr. Nyakundi was an active member in the Pre-Dental Society. He was a member of the Shaw Leadership Program in which students worked together to achieve mutual goals through volunteerism, service projects, community programs, peer education, and deep commitment to one another.
Dr. Nyakundi received the degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, he was inducted into the Honos Civicus Society for being an exemplary active citizen through his academic courses, and co-curricular activities. He also held numerous leadership positions which included being a Teaching Assistant for the undergraduate clinic, Vice President of a dental students club and interned at a both the Massachusetts Hospital School (Canton, MA) and the North Shore Community Health, Inc (Salem, MA). In addition to being an astounding scholar, Dr. Nyakundi also actively gave back to his community by volunteering at both the Sharewood Dental Clinic (Malden, MA) and the Arlington Street Church (Boston, MA).
Dr. Nyakundi is a Board Certified General Dentist with a specialty in DOCS Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry. He practices general and family dentistry including restorative, cosmetic, implant and sedation dentistry. Committed to providing the best advanced care, Dr. Nyakundi keeps up to date on advances in the dental field and enhances his skills by attending postdoctoral courses in prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
