The history of Affinia Healthcare, Inc. (formerly Grace Hill Health Centers, Inc.) begins in 1906 when it was part of the mission work of Holy Cross House.Called Holy Cross Dispensary, the Health Center, was founded when treatment was offered to those suffering from alcoholism. The doctors who cared for the patients suggested thatthe community mightbe better served by a clinic, which could offer services to other needy individuals as well.

When Holy Cross mission merged with Grace Church Mission in 1910, the clinic relocated to the parish house next to Grace Church on the corner of Hadley and Benton and was continued as a project of the newly formed Holy Cross Corporation.

By 1912, the Holy Cross Dispensary staff started an outreach program to bring affordable health care to children and adults in their homes. Grace Church also offered programs, which included traditional church programs such as religious worship, Mens Clubs, Womens Clubs, Young Mens Associations, Girls Clubs, and Mothers Guild. They also offered non-traditional programs such as the dispensary, a library, a kindergarten and milk station, savings department, summer school, a small resale store, and the only public bath in the neighborhood. By 1914, the dispensary had grown to include a baby-feeding clinic and a milk program.

In 1948, Holy Cross Corporation became Grace Hill House, Inc. The name Grace Hill refers to the area where the chapel of the present day Grace Hill Settlement House sets. At one time, the Mississippi River was clearly visible from this point. Since the neighbors commonly referred to the area as Grace Hill, the name seemed to naturally fit.

Over the years, both Grace Hill agencies have continued to make changes to accommodate the neighborhoods they serve. In 1963, due to United Way funding requirements, Grace Hill became two separate agencies under the Grace Hill umbrella.

In the mid 1970s, Grace Hill Health Centers received federal funding through the Urban Health Initiative grant administered by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA). The funds received from HRSA and other government and private organizations and foundations over the years, have enabled Grace Hill to grow and enhance the services offered to meet the health needs of more than 43,000 individual patients per year.

In 2015, Grace Hill Health Centers was renamed Affinia Healthcare. The center serves as a dynamic and transformative community health system, providing affordable primary and preventive health care services to the St. Louis community. Our twelve locations are staffed and equipped to provide comprehensive Primary Care Services (on a sliding fee scale), in addition to an array of Health Support Services and Community Health Programs.

You can call to make an appointment but they will tell you to just walk in knowing you can't just walk in because they only take 10 patients per day. The urgent care is never open at 7:30 like you are told and you can't go in to make an appointment. Completely a waste of time or either they to lazy and only do 10 people per day!!!! Maybe if they get better customer service it wouldn't be so much missed communication. & here I am been trying to get an appointment for over 6 months now

I have been trying to schedule an appointment for months now and every time I call I either get an voicemail where I leave a message with all my info for a callback or I actually speak with someone who tell me to callback at a different time. I expected a way better experience from this dental establishment. ***Update*** I still have yet to receive a response in regards to scheduling an appointment even after writing a review about getting my message over to the proper department which I know is key for no one reaching out to me because I work for a call center where customers are told the exact same thing so I know that means my concern was looked at or reviewed but is not guaranteed a solution. But again I've called in to since then letting someone know I've been trying to schedule an appointment for several months now and have been told AGAIN and AGAIN the same repetitive phrase of calling back to schedule an appointment but it's seems the front desk doesn't care too much either. I was advised that this Establishment was the best of the best but I can't even get a response back from an actual rep yet alone schedule an appointment. This is very sad and horrible customer service!

The nurses are very nice. The surgeon was completely awful to me. He changed my surgery last second when I didn't have a choice but to agree to him or not have my surgery. I've been trying to have this surgery done for almost a year and I spent a week's paycheck on it just to not have it done all of the way. He offered no empathy, did not walk me through the process at all once he told me he wasn't going to take all of the teeth out that we had been planning for. He never told me when he was putting me under, and when he was done he left the room and never came back; I wasn't even fully awake. I was literally crying as he put me under because now I will need to come up with the money all over again and have to go through surgery all over again and the healing process all over again. I am 100% sure he did this just because he did not feel like dealing with taking all of the teeth he had planned. It was too inconvenient for him. Now I have to suffer for his laziness and his lack of empathy.

I've been trying to schedule an appointment and everytime I speak with an actual person they hang up on me. Poor customer service Update: I finally got to speak to two individuals who were very professional and honestly made things a lot better. One of them was from the complaint line and the other individual was the last person I spoke with to get me scheduled for a dental appointment. Great job with following up and making things right!

All my siblings including myself and my kids now have been seen here at this pediatric for years and today was my last visit bringing my daughter here. Things are not the way they use to be when me and my siblings went here dealing the same doctor for years. I felt like we were a problem from the moment the doctor walked in the room. The whole time I felt like all I got was an attitude. This kind of service is not worth me driving over an hour to keep coming down here dealing with a doctor who has been in our family for over 30yrs never again. We all going thru some thing dealing with this pandemic but since when do you start losing compassion, care towards your patients instead were met with anger and aggression. Dr. Antoun use to be a good doctor but not any more. Yelling at your parents is not going to do you any good. God bless you and whatever you're going thru but that's not the kind of energy I want around myself or my kids.

Their dental services are state of the art, affordable and incredibly professional. I've since moved from St. Louis, and I can tell you I haven't experienced anything like them since.

My son has been going to the dentist at the Park location for years now. The dental staff is great! But the customer service is hit or miss. My biggest source of frustration is making appointments. I couldn't call them to make an appointment for my 11 year old. They had to call me to schedule his 6 month checkup. This was supposed to be around November of 2021 but they didn't call me until January of this year. They apologized, said it was due to the holiday, so I just let it go. Then they told me, because my son is 12 now, he now has to go to the adult dental service upstairs...no problem. I call the # she gives me but am told there are no more appointments and to call back the following Monday at 8:30. I do this and am told I can't make an appointment at this number but need to call another number to make the appointment. The operator tries calling the number but says she can't get through. She will leave a message for them to call me back and I will also try to call them. I call the number at 8:37 am and it doesn't even ring, just immediately goes into hangup mode. No ring, voicemail, nothing. And I will be shocked if they actually call me back. Making appointments has always been the MOST difficult part of using Affinia. And not because of staff shortages due to the pandemic. It's because of lack of standards and common sense. Tell me the right number to call and the right time to call it and let the information actually be correct. That's all I want. But every, single time I have to make appointments, someone gives me information that is wrong (contact number) or a failed promise (doesn't call back). UPDATE: And Just Like That, we're out of the Affinia ecosystem! Just called SLU-CADE Pediatric Dentistry and they answered right away, scheduled an appt.( it's months from now, but better than nothing). The most amazing thing happened, the woman I spoke to was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I got an appointment, gave her my contact info. As I was speaking to her on the phone, I received a text and email with the information she said she was going to send. She then told me that I would be sent periodic reminders about the appointment. Night and day difference from Affinia. UPDATE #2: They did return my call and it was from the woman who initially told me she can't make the appointment because my son is now 12! So they sent me in a circle only to wind back with the first person, lol! Before she had a chance to tell me that I was the one doing it all wrong and not them, I was able to tell her that I made an appointment with someone else and to have a good day (and good riddance)!

Called 1st time: Nobody answered hung up on me Called 2nd time: Told the representative I needed billing, she sent me to complaints line, nobody answered, and I was hung up on Called 3rd time: Hung up on me Called 5th time: Hung up on me I have patience so I called 3 more times. They also hung up on me then. Today is Tuesday and I called at 10am. No holiday or holiday hours, also they close at 4pm today. There is no excuse. Call time on hold, 12 minutes each time before no one answered. And the automated system repeats the options twice for no reason even after pressing the correct key. Gave up eventually. All I needed was to speak to someone to request billing information and pay my bill. I had spoke to someone in November (month prior) and they said call back sometime in December when the bill will probably be available. This is really sad. I will not be doing business with this dentist establishment ever again. Next time I will shop around and KNOW MY OPTIONS and not go with the first "recommended" place. They are wasting people's time, and they don't have a reason.

I've been trying to make an appointment for two months to see a dentist. They say call at 8:30am. I call and no answer, the phone will just ring and ring, or I'll get a busy signal. It's ridiculous.
