Jack Ostrowski, DDS Dr. John A. Ostrowski earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1989. During his second year of dental school, he was awarded the Dr. Tom Laur Award for service above self. Before attending dental school, Dr. Ostrowski graduated from Nazareth College in 1985 with majors in both Math and Science, and he also studied at Western Michigan University. He is a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute of Cosmetic Dentistry, and he is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Ostrowski owned a private cosmetic practice in Coopersville, Michigan for twenty-two years, and worked in public health for two years as well.
When he is not hard at work improving your smile, Dr. Ostrowski enjoys big game hunting out west, fishing, and coaching and playing hockey. He holds a hockey coaching degree in Advanced Level 5 Masters Coaching. Dr. Ostrowski is married to his wife Leslie and together they have 5 children.
Kayla A. Muxlow, DMD Dr. Muxlow grew up in the small town of Brown City ieastern Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree at Alma College in 2015, where she majored in Biology and participated in varsity volleyball. She continued her education at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors in the top 10% of her class. While at the University of Louisville, Dr. Muxlow participated in international mission trips, where she helped to provide free care to local communities in Ecuador. In 2019 she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society for having demonstrated exemplary traits of character and professional growth,and she received the Hinman scholarship for exemplary leadership and clinical work ethic.
As a new doctor to the area, Dr. Muxlow is eager to start practicing and serve her community. She enjoys traveling, trying new foods, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her puppy, Murphy. Shelly has an Associates degree in Business Management. She joined our team in 2018, and though she is new to the dental office she has an extensive background in dental insurance. Shelly loves being part of Gaslight Village Family Dentistry and appreciates that our team made her feel at home right away.Shelly and her husband have three children and one grandson. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and can often be found cooking, baking, reading and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
Peggy Jane joined our team in 2017, and has more than 39 years of experience in the dental field. She has two children, a son and a daughter, two granddaughters and one grandson. Her daughters family lives in the , area, while her sons family resides in Texas. Outside of the office she loves to fish for walleye and sew.
Trish has worked with Dr. Afendoulis since 1998, and she began working at Gaslight Village Family Dentistry in 2004. Her goal is to help all of our patients achieve optimal dental health and to build long-lasting relationships with them. Trish looks forward to coming to work and seeing her patients, meeting new ones, and providing all of them with exceptional dental care. She feels fortunate to work with a caring dental team whose top priorities are to educate our patients, care for their dental needs, and establish long-lasting relationships. Trish graduated from Grand Rapids Community College in 1997 in dental hygiene, and she earned a bachelors degree at Siena Heights University in 2008. She completed her masters degree in clinical mental health at Western Michigan University in 2013. Trish has found that her skills in counseling and her skills in dental hygiene overlap in helping her communicate with our patients. She has a dog named Buster, and she enjoys hiking, cycling, walking, camping, and backpacking.
Diana graduated from Grand Rapids Community College in 2010, and joined our team here at Gaslight Village Family Dentistry in 2017. Diana brings with her a friendly, energetic attitude, and loves working in a positive team environment.Diana and her husband have two daughters and two dogs. She and her family are animal lovers. Her children save money all year, and at the end of the year she matches what they have saved and donate it to a shelter of their choice. In Dianas free time she enjoys spending time with family and swimming in the summer.
Tonya has worked as a dental assistant since 2006, and she joined our team at Gaslight Village Family Dentistry in April 2013. She loves the dedicated staff and advanced dental technology at our Grand Rapids, Michigan office. Tonya has one daughter, and she loves to watch her daughter play soccer!
Olivia joined our team in 2016. She received her certificate in Dental Assisting in July 2015. Olivias favorite thing about being part of our practice is that our team is like her second family, and that she can come to work every day knowing that shell be in a positive atmosphere. Olivia is an excellent team player, and contributes greatly to the success of our practice.Olivia and her husband, Zack, have a fur baby named Maxwell. When she isnt at our office, Olivia loves to spend time with her family and friends.
