Dr. Charles Sutera was born in the Boston area. He went on to attend Gettysburg College where he earned the prestigious Presidental Scholar Award each year of attendance. He then studied dentistry at Tufts School of Dental Medicine, and after graduating he has practiced in Portland, Boston, and Waltham, MA where he spent several years practicing dentistry with a focus in facial aesthetics.
Dr. Sutera has a strong value for advanced multidisciplinary dentistry. He has completed post graduate education programs in the fields of dental anesthesiology, smile aesthetics, dental implantology, TMJ, and oral surgery. He believes a multidisciplinary expertise and knowledge allows for the highest level of dental treatment, reconstruction, and maintenance. Dr. Sutera is board certified in moderate parenteral dental sedation by the Massachusetts Dental Board. He completed the coveted Aesthetic Advantage program at New York University which is recognized as a leader in veneers, smile makeovers, and facial aesthetics training. After forming a solid education of smile aesthetics, Dr. Sutera sought to have a premier understanding of jaw function. He completed a TMJ residency at the University of Kentucky and further remains actively involved in the TMJ field at the Pankey Institute.
Dr. Sutera completed his implant training at the Whitecap Surgical Center in Salt Lake City, extensive periodontal training at the GIDE Institute, and has trained in 3rd molar surgery. He continues to maintain certification in proficiency by the Academy of Laser Dentistry, and is a recognized Invisalign provider. He strives to make treatment a comforting process, encourages patient involvement, and is meticulous in achieving the highest level of results.

I had a very positive experience at Aesthetic Smile Reconstruction in Waltham, Ma. The office is modern and well appointed with easy access off route 128 and has plenty of free parking. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I had been experiencing tooth pain. Dr. Sutera examined me and took x-rays which indicated I had a cavity. Dr. Sutera is very professional and was a perfectionist in making sure my bite alignment was perfect after he applied the filling. My tooth feels GREAT! I highly recommend Dr. Sutera at Aesthetic Smile Reconstruction and will return for all my future dental needs.

My son has been so happy coming to this office. The only health care professional he does not have an anxiety attack going to see. They are phenomenal!! My son has completed 4 out of 6 visits and we were able to drop him off and pick him up and not stay the entire time as he is now so comfortable with them!

Overall going to the dentist is pretty rough but the skilled team @ Aesthetic Smile Reconstruction make it easy. Everyone is pleasant to deal with and they take great care of you while you're sedated. After the second appointment I can say my mouth has never felt better and my teeth have never looked better. I look forward to coming here for everything including my routine care.

This practice is first rate top notch service and expertise from Ashley the office manager to the dental surgeon. After multiple promises with lackluster delivery from various healthcare professionals my son could not believe the dentist himself called him the night before and the night of his dental surgery. If you want to be treated not just as a person but as a unique human being come here.

I have a crippling fear of the dentist, but Dr. Sutera and his whole team go to great lengths to make every visit as calm and comfortable as possible. The facilities are really up to date and comfortable, and Dr. Sutera encourages questions and is happy to take as many breaks as I need (I do all my general dentistry here). I'm so lucky to be a patient in this practice. I drive from Boston to Waltham to see them, and I would drive three times as far if I needed to.

I had my initial consultation and was very impressed. The office is very calming and everyone was poised to put me at ease. I wish I could say I'm looking forward to my treatment but it truly will be the best place have my fears and dental issues addressed. Since my first post I have had several appointments. I was right, this practice is the best place for me. Kindness, genuine concern and personal attention give me strength to return and continue treatment. I highly recommend!

Let me start by saying I honestly don't write many reviews unless I feel the place really deserves it....that being said this place is great and I highly recommend it!! I am someone who has always struggled with anxiety about the dentist and from the moment I made a phone call to Dr. Sutera's office I felt at ease. Everyone in the office is super nice and helpful starting with Ashley at front desk. She is quick to answer emails and is helpful with anything you need. Dr. Sutera and his hygienist Heidi are both very personable and have great bed side manner. They make you feel comfortable right away and make sure through everything you are doing ok. For someone who had put off going to the dentist for so long I am personally so happy to have found them it has changed my life for the better. I have already recommended them to multiple people but if you want great dental care and are someone like me who has put it off because of having anxiety or being scared check this place out! You won't be disappointed.

In need of a lot of dental work and being absolutely petrified of dentist (the result of childhood experiences), I found Dr. Sutera of Aesthetic Smile Reconstruction through prayer and many Google searches. Before my first visit, I corresponded with Ashley who answered the many, many questions I had both before and after my visit. Her warmth, patience and understanding of my specific fears helped at a time when all three were needed. During my first visit, Heidi, Dr. Sutera's dental assistant couldn't have been sweeter. She made sure that I was comfortable physically and as equally important, mentally. After she took many pictures of my teeth (all painless), I met Dr. Sutera. Dr. Sutera was so much more then I'd hoped for. He asked for and HEARD my story of what brought me to his office and when he said, "This is a no judgement zone." I cried. I truly felt that here, I would not be judged or blamed. Dr. Sutera was the definition of understanding during that first visit. I had my second visit yesterday and am positive this pain free morning that Dr. Sutera is heaven sent. I am thankful for him and his team.
