Dr. Bernie Villadiego has practiced dentistry in the San Fernando Valley for over 18 years. He received his DDS degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1989 and went on to complete a general practice
residency program at Los Angeles/USC Medical Center. In October 1993, he went on to establish a private practice with an emphasis in esthetic and reconstructive dentistry in Los Angeles, CA in October 1993.
Dr. Villadiego is a participating dentist for the national Give Back a Smile program, providing esthetic dentistry to victims of domestic violence. His expertise and techniques are regularly featured in the news. He has appeared on Fox 11s news segment Ask the Expert.
The Whole Picture: Our goal is to restore harmony to the joints, teeth, and muscles, which can help alleviate pain, eliminate unnecessary wear and tear, and other issues that can arise from an unstable bite.
Technology has entered the dental profession just like it has in every facet of life. There have been great advances in almost all areas of dentistry from the way we examine teeth to the way we restore teeth.
Dr. Villadiego employs dental cone beam computed tomography machines (CBCT) to provide a 3D rendition of his patients mouths, jaws, skull, sinuses, and airways. It helps diagnose a range of issues from airway/breathing issues to implant placements to hidden pathologies.
In addition to our3D dental imaging technology, otheradvances include the Wand, a computer-controlled anesthetic delivery system that enables pain-free injections, and digital X-rays, which reduce radiation by as much as 80 percent.
DIAGNOdent is a dental laser capable of detecting cavities in teeth. This means we are able to detect cavities when they are smaller, which results in a smaller restoration. Not only does it help prevent the spread of decay, but it also helps us treat your teeth more conservatively: when we spot decay sooner, the necessary fillings are typically simpler and shallower, preserving more of the tooth.
Kodak is our digital x-ray system that reduces the amount of radiation you receive by over 80% compared to traditional x-rays. The digital X-ray image is instantly displayed on a large computer screen and can be enhanced and magnified to show conditions such as cavities or structural weaknesses in teeth. Its a wonderful tool for helping our patients fully understand their treatment options.
The WAND is a computer controlled anesthetic delivery system that enables us to give pain free injections. The system even places a drop of anesthetic at the site of injection, prior to needle insertion, preparing an anesthetic pathway. This means that we can eliminate residual numbness, drooping lips, and the resulting difficulties of resuming normal activities.
VELscope has a specialized hand piece that emits a beam of light into your mouth, which lets us detect abnormal tissue that may be oral cancer, even before it is visible on the surface. Pre-malignant changes start below the surface, at the basement membrane. These changes may not be apparent to the naked eye until the disease progresses to the surface.
Our Fontana LightWalker Dental Lasersare a treatment solution for many of the tooth and gum treatments that have previously required the dental drill or scalpel. By harnessing the power of a laser, the sounds and sensations of a dental drill can be avoided, and scalpels and anesthesia are often unnecessary.
LipLase is anon-invasive lip plumping for fuller lips without injectables. For fuller, smoother lips LipLase targets the Collagen inside your intra-oral mucosas, the results can be seen immediately and the procedure only takes between 10 and 15 minutes. There is no pain associated with LipLase and no downtime.

I had a trip and fall, and Dr. Bernie accommodated me less than 12 hours after the accident, on a weekend! He made me feel at ease, and my two broken teeth look better than they did before. Such incredible work by an incredible provider.

I travel from Pasadena to Chatsworth, and I was really hoping to see Dr. Bernie at my cleaning. I was told he would be in the office; however he was not there when I arrived for my scheduled appointment. I was a little disappointed as I come to the office every 6 months. He did not consult with me either 6 months prior and I wanted to bring an issue to his attention. Nonetheless the office staff is great! My cleaning only took 45 minutes!

There is only few people in this world who can be sooo detailed and professional like Dr Bernie. I am always amazed on how much work, empathy and good energy he puts into finding out what out what is best for his clients. 1 year after the procedure, he is still checking if everything is ok with my teeth , jaw, face and all that is related to it. his stuff is by far the best people I have ever met at any office in this country. everyone is always smiling, professional, respectful, kind and never with an attitude towards any client. I AM GRATEFUL I FOUND A DENTIST LIKE HIM and very very HAPPY WITH MY RESULTS. BEST DENTIST IN CA!

Dr. Bernie helped with my TMJ/teeth grinding problem by realigning my bite. Now my bite is fixed and I have no pain with hot/cold food and drink. On top of that the staff is always very nice and welcoming. Great office!

I can honestly say Dr. Villadiego saved my teeth and my bank account! Before he diagnosed and corrected the problem with my bite, I had been to countless dentists trying to find out why my teeth and restorations were always breaking... Why I had headaches and jaw pain my entire life.... Why am my bite always felt off and my mouth just never felt comfortable. With all the dentists I have seen over the years, not one ever suggested the problem might be fixable. Instead, they all told me I was too hard on my teeth, asked me what I was chewing on, and implied it was either genetic or somehow my fault. Over the years, I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars fixing and re-fixing broken dental work, believing there was no other option besides dentures! Well, since Dr. Villadiego corrected my bite and restored my teeth, I have had zero problems and no more cracked or broken teeth. For the first time in my life, my bite feels comfortable, my face feels relaxed, my headaches and jaw aches are gone. The fact that I now have a beautiful smile -- and have been told I look at least ten years younger -- is icing on the cake! Best of all, Dr. Villadiego was able to diagnose and correct my bite/jaw problem even BEFORE he did any work on my teeth, so there was no guessing how or if it would work. I could go on and on but I will just end with a big thank you to Dr. Villadiego and his amazing office staff.

Dr. Bernie is the ONLY Dentist I'll ever see again. Period. He is kind, patient, thorough and explains everything in great detail, using outstanding IT equipment to help show you what's going on. He will explain your issue, tell you what's needed, and then fix it. I wish more dentists had his chair side manner. His staff, likewise, are a reflection of him - all extremely professional, courteous and helpful. As someone who has had more than one bad dentist over the years, I cannot give him a higher recommendation. Even if you don't live in The Valley, come see him anyway. It's worth the trip. As a Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Bernie is unmatched. His work to restore my mouth has come out exceptionally well. I'm no longer embarrassed to smile (sorry - don't have a pic handy, but if you go to his Facebook Page -Bernie B. Villadiego - you can see several examples of his work, including mine). The before and after photos speak for themselves and I'm happy to have him post my new smile for all to see. Doc also teaches this specialty to other dentists around the world. I was referred to Dr. Bernie by my daughter's orthodontist as I was frantically looking for referrals to a new dentist because my dentist had recently retired, and I had accidently chipped my front tooth. All I have to say is that I was so incredibly impressed with the care that I received from every single person in this office. The staff is absolutely lovely, kind, and compassionate and Dr. Bernie is all that and so incredibly talented at what he does. I have found my new dentist!
