Dr Zelby has been my dentist now for almost 17 years. Not only is he a really nice person, his dentistry is completely top notch. If you need any restorations, I don't think that there is another place to even consider. You'll be amazed with his work!
Dr. Levine was great, and Dr. Zelby stopped by and answered some questions I had about sheering forces on enamel. They were both very friendly, and the hygenist (whose name I forget, unfortunately) gave one of the most thorough cleanings I've ever had. The office was clean, the devices all seem shiny and well maintained, and overall it was a great experience
After going to another dentist, doctor Zelby was able to fix my front two teeth so that the front two teeth were back to the same length and color. I'm so thankful he was able to make them look normal again. Dr. Zelby and his staff are so pleasant to be around as well. I highly recommend this office if you have a major problem with your teeth that need to be fixed. He can get it done and he will make sure you are happy.

As a college student at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Atlanta dentist, David Zelby, DDS became interested in dentistry as he observed senior students busily occupying themselves making models of teeth and crafting their dental projects. This embarked his lifelong interest in perfecting dental techniques and helping his patients be pain-free while changing their lives as they experienced smiling again or maybe for the first time. The rewards of handing a patient a mirror and seeing the glow of their faces is a life confirming commitment for me, explains Dr. Zelby. He earned his general dental degree from the New York University School of Dentistry in 1974.
After graduating, he spent one year in general practice residency at French and Polyclinic Hospital in New York City. Dr. Zelby continued his education to become a certified prosthodontist at South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. Prosthodontics is a specialty in dentistry, recognized by the American Dental Association and requires two to three years of extra dental school after completion of a general dentistry degree. This higher level of training allows a prosthodontist to perform a higher level of dentistry with greater expertise. The primary focus of a prosthodontist is all treatments of restorative dentistry and full mouth reconstruction.
He began his career in dentistry working with Dr. Ervin Goldstein in 1985. Later Dr. Zelby established his own practice in Atlanta locating in Midtown. In 1992 Dr. Zelby moved his practice to the Cobb Galleria Office Park and established Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry of Atlanta. His practice expanded in 2010 and Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry built a new state-0f-the art dental center located in the 200 Building at Cobb Galleria. Dr. Zelby is known in Atlanta as being a compassionate and gifted cosmetic dentist and dental implant specialist in Atlanta, well-versed in both general and prosthodontic procedures. He skillfully blends art and advanced dental techniques changing the smiles of thousands of Atlantans over the course of thirty years.
Education has always been paramount in Dr. Zelbys career and he taught at Emory University Dental School for 12 years. Currently, Dr. Zelby is a clinical professor of dentistry at Georgia Regents University School of Dental Medicine, formerly Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry.
As an educator, Dr. Zelby recognizes that dental technologies change often and he is deeply committed to continuous training in his field so that hes able to offer the latest, most effective and least painful methods to his patients. He devotes muchof his extra time staying on top of scientific and technological developments in general and prosthetic dentistry.
Public service is another hallmark of Dr. Zelbys career and an area in which hes placed great personal importance. He is Chief of Staff Emeritus at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic, where volunteer dentists treat Atlantas underprivileged needing dental care. Ben Massell is the only dental clinic in the United States staffed solely by volunteers. Because of his lifelong commitment to helping people, Dr. Zelby was named Honorary Senator for the state of Georgia by Governor Casey Cagle in August, 2008. In 2002, the Atlanta community honored Dr. Zelby by presenting him a Community Service Award in recognition of his countless hours of service to Atlantas underprivileged.
Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry of Atlanta welcomes Dr. Ross Levine to our practice. Dr. Levine grew up nearby in Alpharetta, Georgia. He earned his undergraduate degree with highest honors from Georgia Tech, his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly MCG), and completed his residency in general dentistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with an emphasis on cosmetic, digital, and sports dentistry.
Dr. Levine co-founded Dentists for Della, a nationally recognized oral care program for war veterans at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. In addition, he has been a dental screener at the Special Olympics and treasurer for the Give-A-Smile Foundation. In dental school, Dr. Levine received the Geriatric Dentistry Award at MCG for excellence in knowledge and service to the geriatric population. He was inducted into the Alpha Upsilon Phi Honors Society for leadership and philanthropic service to the Medical College of Georgia.
After completing dental school, Dr. Levine was accepted into a residency at the University of Michigan, an intensive extra year of advanced training on the most up-to-date cosmetic procedures and materials, including porcelain laminate veneers and crowns, dental implants, digital impression technology, dental lasers, and current whitening procedures. During his time in Ann Arbor, Dr. Levine was also a team dentist for the University of Michigan Wolverines hockey team. He is an active member of several dental organizations including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, and Georgia Dental Association.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Levine served on the young professional board of ORT, a non-profit that offers skills and training to impoverished communities. He and his wife also enjoy a wide variety of hobbies including traveling, skiing, and hiking. He loves live music and is a fan of Georgia Tech football.
Dr. Heilperns strong interest in research led him to join Dr. David Zelby and his team at Aesthetic and Implant Dentistry of Atlanta in January 2021. His influence will guide the practice in implementing the latest materials, technology, and techniques. Joining Aesthetic & Implant Dentistry of Atlanta allows Dr. Heilpern to continue his research and educational goals in keeping with his practice philosophy of providing his patients with advanced dental procedures.
Dr. Heilpern is highly versed in all areas of the dental profession. He has received advanced training in Invisalign and has a special interest in various cosmetic and surgical dental procedures. He strives to treat patients with compassion and respect while focusing on communication to ensure complete understanding before, during, and after dental treatment.
