Even more, Dr. Patel uses an advanced technique known as All-on-Four for implant-supported dentures.

At Aesthetic General Dentistry of Frisco, we will begin with effective treatment for damaged and decayed teeth. Dr. Patel will also prepare your tooth, shaping it to provide a solid foundation for your restoration. He can then use an intraoral camera to capture precise digital impressions of your prepared tooth to create a virtual model of your teeth. Dr. Patel will use these images in conjunction with the CEREC software to digitally create your prosthesis on a chair-side computer. He can explain all the aspects of your treatment using this computer screen.

Once the digital design is complete, Dr. Patel will then choose a block of ceramic that most closely matches the shade of your teeth. He will send your exact measurements and designs to our in-office milling machine, and your prosthesis is then created in less than an hour. When your restoration is complete, Dr. Patel will review it with you, make any finishing touches, and then use a special bonding agent to securely attach it for a complete, restored smile.

Perhaps the most significant benefit of CEREC technology is the amount of time that you can save. With more traditional options, you would need to return to our office two or three times before finally receiving a permanent crown or bridge. CEREC cuts the time necessary for restorative treatments in half, giving you some of your time back. You can also avoid the need for temporary restorations.

The advanced porcelain we use is also more aesthetic than metals traditionally used, and patients commonly praise CEREC for creating highly lifelike restorations. We often use these incredibly aesthetic restorations for cosmetic procedures such as porcelain veneers. Additionally, the precise digital imaging and mapping software included with CEREC facilitates more conservative treatment, preserving more of your natural tooth structure. Our office can have also used CEREC to create implant-supported prostheses such as implant-supported crowns.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography, or CBCT, is a specialized imaging device used in advanced dentistry. The CBCT uses a rotating cone-shaped x-ray beam to create a 3D view of the inner anatomy of your head and face. The insight from 3D images assists in diagnosing diseases and planning treatment, such as dental implant placement.

Most often, CBCT scans are used to further evaluate conditions diagnosed by your dentist. The sharp high-quality images unparalleled insight for our dentist. In detail, our dentist can visualize your bone structure, tooth position, soft tissues, and nerve pathways in detail.
