After graduating with her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Yelena Obholz earned her D.D.S. degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Then, she did advanced work in periodontics, oral surgery and prosthodontics during her residency at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Before opening her own dental office in Washington, DC, she worked in private practice in Maryland. Dr. Obholz takes many continuing education classes every year so that she can keep her dental skills up to date. For example, currently she is enrolled in the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Obholz lives in Kensington, MD with her husband and three children.
Elmira has been working in dentistry for several years now, and every day, she looks forward to meeting new people and giving them the best dental care possible. Her interactions with patients and her amazing fellow team members show just how passionate she is about her work. On a daily basis, she strives to encourage excellence and a love for people. As a Washington, DC resident, she loves the diversity and the vibe of the city. Originally from Penza, Russia, Elmira considers Richmond, VA her hometown. She has earned several degrees, including a bachelors in French Studies, an associates in science, and her dental assistant certification at Reynolds College. Outside the dental office, she likes to spend her time traveling, photography, and playing the piano.

If you're looking for a dentist in DC, look no more, this is your place. I'm terrified of the dentist but Dr. Obholz and Tania made me feel safe and comfortable. Thank you so much for understanding my fear of anesthesia and doing your best to keep my procedure pain free. Now I'm gonna get all my dental work done here

This is the best dentist! They always make me fee comfortable and welcome from the moment I step foot in the door. Lamika was so friendly and put me at ease throughout my appointment. I used to dread going to the dentist now, it's no big deal.

I actually love this dentist, its close to my job, they are very kid friendly, even when I had my child with me and I was the only one receiving a procedure. Pretty expensive, but it's well worth it.

"I feel sorry for people who think that their dental services are great. I would never recommend this place to anyone. My dad, Kurmanbek Yrysbekov, has received a negligent treatment from their dentist that resulted both physical and mental distress. Not only they completely fooled him with unprofessionally designed dentures but also didn't admit such an obvious mistake. P.S. It is not a spam. We can provide evidence of their malpractice with the photographs."

Periodontist Dr. Vahid is terrific: good people skills and skillful hands! She prepared me well for a procedure, debriefed me thoroughly afterwards, and I came through with very little discomfort and no complications. And she's left-handed; what a novelty!

Dr Obholz and her staff provide outstanding dental care. The office abides by all safety protocols during these unfortunate times, and as a patient, I couldn't be happier. Staff are polite, professional and easy to work with, especially with insurance questions. Would highly recommend Aesthetic and Family Dentistry without reservation.

The staff and dentists are friendly , professional and do excellent work. I had a tooth extracted today and am in no pain whatsoever after the all the numbness has gone. I highly recommend Dr. Bassily and Dr. Obholz.

Dr. Yelena Obholz is the most amazing professional dentist you could ever go to. She analyzes every aspect of your teeth and gums and oral health with the utmost proficiency. The doctor has the absolute highest level of dental equipment and she is able to provide in-house crowns, teeth alignments and implants all at Aesthetic and Family Dentistry of Washington. The layout and design of the office is extremely high end both architecturally as well as patient friendly. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

The staff was very friendly and Amie showed me through the entire office explaining the technology and machines. Everyone made me feel very welcome. My hygentist Catherina was gentle but thorough.My billing/insurance was well explained. The Dr. was very honest with me about priorities and I felt assured that the procedures were important and would be taken care of. My hats off to this dental office and all of its staff.

Was able to schedule the appointment at the last moment and the staff was able to hold two options for few hours until I finalize the plans. The service was great and everyone were really prompt, professional and friendly. Great practice!
