Dr. Dean Huttos Aesthetic Family Dentistry office was built with the desire to provide Baytown residents with excellent family and cosmetic dentistry. He was born and raised right here in Baytown and opened the dental office when he graduated from the University of Texas Dental School in Houston in 1992. He is proud of the caring and skilled team he has assembled and would be honored to be your family dentist.
Although he graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1992, Dr. Hutto has remained committed to ongoing education through active professional memberships and educational courses. He has studied with some of the most renowned authorities in all of dentistry, including Dr. Frank Spear at the Seattle Institute, Dr. Pete Dawson of The Dawson Institute for Learning, and Dr. Bill Strupp in Florida.
Dr. Hutto is also a graduate of the prestigious Hornbrook Group and the Misch International Implant Institute. He completes approximately 4 times the required amount of continuing education annually, adding up to around 50 hours a year.
Dr. Hutto and his family have a long history of serving Baytown. His grandparents moved here in 1927, and his parents owned the beloved Tower Restaurant. His dad even served as the Mayor of Baytown for 12 years, and his brothers were both respected optometrists.
When not at the dental office, Dr. Hutto enjoys spending his time boating, scuba diving, waterskiing, and snow skiing with his wife, Gena, and their sons Blake and Brandon. Dr. Hutto is also a grandfather to Sutton, Blake's beautiful boy. Four other very important members of the Hutto family are Ali, Emma, and Ella the dogs, and Maxey the cat.
So how exactly did Dr. Ragsdale decide to become a dentist in the first place? He actually shadowed multiple dentists throughout his college career and had some very influential mentors during this time. After looking into other professional paths, he felt drawn to this field because of the constant, direct interactions with patients! He loves being able to help people not only achieve better health, but maintain it as well over time.
After attending Brigham Young University for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Ragsdale pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. He also completed an advanced residency in 2017, acquiring surgical and IV sedation skills. Today, he continues to focus his further training on these advanced areas so that he can offer patients and families here in Baytown with the highest quality of care possible.
Dr. Ragsdale is from McKinney, and he actually speaks three different languages. At home, he has a wife named Jessica and five children. He loves spending his free time embarking on adventures with his little kids, such as swimming, kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, and simply exploring the world. His children even wear safari adventure vests, and they have a family theme song!
