Dr. Abelar has the distinguished honor of instructing for many years at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, teaching practicing dentists from around the world the most progressive techniques available today. He also mentors several very successful dentists locally.
Dr. Catherine Oleksy received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 2001 at the premier UCLA School of Dentistry. From a young age, Dr. Oleksy has been passionate about dentistry and has been involved in the dental field ever since her first job as a dental assistant during high school and college.
As an esteemed cosmetic dentist at our Carmel Valley practice, Dr. Oleksy proudly provides her patients with the highest quality dental care and utilizes the latest technological advancements. She remains up to date with cosmetic, general, and restorative dentistry treatments though numerous continuing education programs and study clubs. Dr. Oleksy is a Faculty Club member at the prestigious Spear Education Center, in Scottsdale, AZ, a center for post-graduate advanced dental training. She is also a member of the San Diego Spear Study Club, the San Diego Mini Residency Implant Study Club, the American Dental Association, the San Diego County Dental Society, and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Oleksy and her husband Dr. Brian Oleksy, an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon in San Diego, have three children, Dane, Chase, and Landon. She enjoys watching her sons participate in various sports and activities in the community. Her interests include golf, fashion, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Crow is a Board Certified Periodontist and a member of the American Academy of Periodontology with over 20 years of experience in the field of dentistry. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, he received an additional year of hospital based training by completing a General Practice Residency at the Naval medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. After five years of practicing general dentistry, Dr. Crow returned to school and completed a three year residency in Periodontics. During that same time, he earned a Masters of Science degree in health Sciences from The George Washington University. After working seven years in private practice in the Seattle area, he returned to San Diego where he maintains a practice limited to Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Dr. Crow is married and has two children; a son and a daughter. During his free time, he enjoys his children's sports and activities, as well as scuba diving, snow skiing, traveling, and flying as an instrument rated pilot.
Dr. Steven Bergman is originally from Los Angeles and graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. He received his dental training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston where he graduated in 1981 and later served as Associate Clinical Professor of Restorative Dentistry.
In addition to the practice of general dentistry, for over 30 years Dr. Bergmans private practice has emphasized the cosmetic and restorative aspects of dentistry. Through his extensive training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), he has achieved a level of clinical proficiency and artistry in aesthetic dentistry that few dentists have obtained, and in fact has attained Fellowship status from LVI.
In addition, Dr. Bergman's background includes treatment of Neuromuscular disorders commonly associated with TMJ problems. This in-depth knowledge in treating cosmetic and occlusion problems is the basis for Dr. Bergmans practice focus. His ability to give his patients the beautiful smile they have always wanted is the most rewarding aspect of his practice.
Dr. Bergmans professional associations include membership in the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. He has also worked with the W.I.N. Foundation, a charitable organization which benefits women of abuse. When Dr. Bergman is not practicing dentistry, his time is spent with his wife and three children and indulging his hobbies golf, skiing, and travel.

Dr Abelar and his team came to my rescue on a Friday of all days. I had a dental emergency and the doctor and team were so gracious to fit me in! I'm new to the area and found Dr Abelar. Needless to say, I was quite nervous but the team made me right at home and cared for. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Dr Abelar took his time with me. Was gentle and kind, he truly understood my predicament. His team was so professional and accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Abelar and team! A five star practice! Thank you again.

The front office staff, Kelly, is absolutely superb and helpful. Dr.Abelar is exceptional in terms of his expertise, his demeanor, and skills. An absolute gentleman, and kind in addition to being superb at what he does. My wife and I have known him for over 20 years and it is a pleasure to see how he continues to do beautiful work. There is zero pushiness, and his office in general is state of the art in terms of technology, expertise, patient service, and class. I travel from Northern California for even routine care and I cannot recommend Marty Abelar highly enough. Five stars plus raised to the 10th power.

The office is beautiful with lots of easy parking . The staff is very friendly and there is no wait. Dr. Abelar is very easy to talk to and has a welcoming manner to him .I cannot recommend this office enough! I had a consultation for some cosmetic issues and then a cleaning. My dental hygienist was friendly, gentle and very quick which was great!
