Hi there! Thank you for allowing us to introduce the Adventure Kids Dental family; we hope well get to learn all about you and your kids soon. Our practices focus is on family, and we operate on three pillars: Compassion, Consistency, and Communication.
Dr. Jeff McComb was born and raised in Merced, CA (Central Valley). He graduated from the University of the Pacific (UOP) School of Dentistry in 2007 and worked as an associate within a pediatric dental practice for 13 years before opening Adventure Kids Dental. Dr. McComb also served as Pediatrics Dental Director for two years in a group of over 40 doctors. He is committed to expanding his experience and knowledge by taking pediatric-focused education courses, and along with his wife, has led dental and medical mission trips to the Philippines since 2006.
He enjoys seeing kids relax when they see that visiting the dentist isnt scary, but can actually be a lot of funthats when transformation happens! Dr. McComb really loves seeing and catching up with families that hes built a relationship with, it really feels like seeing a family friend or neighbor. Dr. McComb would love to develop this with every family that comes in to see him.
Dr. McCombs amazing wife, Candy, is also a dentist, and they work together as a dental teamthey actually met and fell in love in dental school, and have been on a dental journey for what will be 12 years in June of 2019.
Outside of the practice, Drs. Jeff and Candy love spending time with their 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl), going camping, playing sports, or barbecuing tasty food. The family is active in the faith community at Bridgeway Christian Church, and they hope to welcome you to the practice!
Dr. Candy McComb was born and raised in the Philippines. She moved to California at the age of 20 to finish college at University of the Pacific, where she majored in Biology before she graduated as Valedictorian of her Dental School class in 2006. Dr. Candy then completed a one-year general practice residency at the VA in Palo Alto before she began working in pediatric dental offices, which she loves wholeheartedly.
Her favorite part of working with children is helping them enjoy their dental visits and giving them healthy smiles. She says, Its also very rewarding to see a nervous or scared child overcome their fears and build a trusting relationship. She loves just being around kids and getting to know them and their families.
When shes not helping children build confidence in their smiles, Dr. Candy loves to spend time with her family and watch her kids play sports; she also likes to travel when they have the opportunity. The whole family is involved in their church and travels together on their dental mission trips.
Drs. Candy and Jeff have been living in the Sacramento/Roseville area since getting married and love calling it home. Dr. Candy has worked in three pediatric dental practices over the last 11 years and is so excited to continue taking great care of kids in their own practice. They aim to be as involved in the community as possible and make everyone they treat feel like a part of the family.
Dr McWilliams is a native Sacramentan. He attended Bella Vista High School. Received his Bachelors degree from University of California, Santa Barbara in 1982 and graduated from University of Southern California, School of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1986.
Dr. McWilliams had a private general dentistry practice in Carmichael for over twenty years and has since dedicated his entire practicing career to hospital based pediatrics. Dr McWilliams treats patients regularly in numerous local hospitals and surgery centers in the area for several pediatric dental practices. Dr McWilliams is the Surgery Center Medical Director for Kids Care Dental and Orthodontics, MEC Dental Director for Fort Sutter Surgery Center, Dental representative on the Outpatient Surgical Services committee at Kaiser South Sacramento and has been the chairman of the SDDS Task Force on General Anesthesia.
Because he loves children, he has dedicated his anesthesia practice to providing anesthesia services primarily for young, fearful, or uncooperative pediatric patients. By providing anesthesia services for these extremely anxious children, he is able to shield them from the terrifying experience of being physically restrained during dental treatment, leaving them with an extremely negative memory of dentistry that can last a lifetime.
Kristina oversees daily office operations in order to keep the practice running smoothly and efficiently, she is also our surgery center coordinator her specialty is coordinating insurance, and she is amazing at ensuring all costs are clearly and easily understood when providing patients with billing and treatment estimates.
Kristina has an extensive background in customer service and has been in the dental field for 10 years. She loves building close, lasting patient relationships and is looking forward to getting to know you and your family! Kristina and her awesome husband, Adam, have four kids: Tyler, Jacob, Sophia, and Giovanna. To keep things from getting too quiet at home, the family also includes two dogs, Baker and Hart. Kristina LOVES Disneyland and visits the park with her family at least once a year. She also loves the beach and enjoys taking trips there in the summer.
Alaina is the first person you see coming into Adventure Kids Dental, she is as enthusiastic as they come and has a passion for helping others with a smile on her face! She may be new to the dental field, but has a broad background of over 12 years as a patient coordinator. She cannot wait to meet and get to know you and your family! When she isnt at the office or consuming her weight in tea, you can find her spending time outdoors exploring nearby rivers or far away beaches with her handsome husband and three beautiful girls. She loves her Church family over at Bridgeway Christian Church and serves on the womens ministry team there. Shes an old soul at heart, who loves to laugh and make people laugh in return.
Kaycee has loved dentistry since she was a child and always knew this is what she wanted to do. She has been in the dental field for eight years and has explored all areas of the office. She likes to be in the back hanging out with the kids and also likes working in the front to help the parents feel just as comfortable. Although she loves all areas of the office, patients with special needs have always been where her heart lies.
Sharesse is truly excited to come to work every day at Adventure Kids Dental and belong to a wonderful team that has a heart for helping children. Her childhood memories of dental care are very positive and without fearshe has never forgotten how the staff always made the dentists office such a fun place to be. For the past fourteen years in the dental field and still today, Sharesse embodies that role for her patients, educating them and providing comfort if they are scared.
Sharesse loves spending time with her husband, Branden, and their two sons, Parker and Blake. As a family, they enjoy movies, beach trips, and going to San Francisco Giants games. Sharesse also loves music and singing and has been serving on the worship team of Carmichaels Christ Community Church for more than 20 years.
Emily loves to fill her life with the smiles of children. When she is not at the office she is spending time with her huge family of 12 nieces and nephews! She loves to sing and play the piano. Her weekends are spent with her husband playing the newest video games and watching Star Wars and Marvel TV shows. She cant wait to meet you in our office.
If youre familiar with us and our three pillars (Compassion, Consistency, Communication), you know we like to take our mission on the roadoften all the way to the Philippines! We practice loving our neighbors (near and far) as we love ourselves.
Drs. Jeff and Candy McComb took their first dental mission trip together to Candys country of birth in 2006. Candys mother was a singer and missionary that traveled the world, and she met Candys father, the pastor of a large church, while she was in the Philippines.
They visit the Philippines every two to three years to reconnect with their family, and to collaborate with a medical team and provide free dental care to people in need. Over the course of just three to four days, they may treat up to 1,600 men, women, and children.
Adventure Kids Dental is proud to announce our GIVE partnership with Compassion Planet in Rocklin, California through monthly donations to their organization, and each new patient that joins our dental family allows us to expand our support to their mission.
The goal of Compassion Planet is to empower at-risk and aged-out foster youth to overcome obstacles, achieve independence, and reach their full potential as productive adults living independently. Compassionate Planet provides disconnected young adults with useful tools for life, addressing essential needs including but not limited to housing, nutrition, employment, finance, health, ethics, and everyday coping skills through over 1,200 hours in their year-long intensive Mentor Program. Compassionate Planet trainees are employed by the organizations Deer Creek Farm and Compassion Thrift Store, where they gain valuable career development insights along with life coaching and support to set them up for long-term success.
Dr. Jeff and Dr. Candy love what Compassion Planet is doing! We intend to do service projects with them in the future in addition to our ongoing financial support. Please return to this page to check for updates.
