The most common cause is practicing poor hygiene. If you dont brush your teeth twice a day and floss, youre more likely to create an environment in your mouth wherebacteria, acid, food debris and your saliva accumulate to form plaque. The plaque starts to dissolve the enamel, creating holes called cavities.
Recover the tooth as soon as possible since there is a chance to save it withemergencydental care! Make sure to handle the tooth by the crown (chewing surface) and not the root! If there is dirt or debris on the tooth, gently wash it away with water or milk. Most importantly, keep the tooth moist and get to a dentist within a half hour. To keep the tooth moist, try to place it back into the socket. If this is not possible, place the tooth in your mouth next to your cheek or transport it in milk. Never leave the tooth soaking in water!

Dr. Randy Chang, DDS earned his Bachelor of Science (Biology) Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2001, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Upon graduation from Dental School, it was a natural transition for Dr. Chang to return home to begin his career in the Chicago area. He worked for two group dental practices gaining valuable experience before opening his first clinic in 2004. Dr. Chang now owns and operates eight dental clinics in the Chicago area. He consistently attends numerous continuing education courses which allows him to stay current with all of the advances in Dentistry. More importantly, Dr. Chang always tries to empathize with his patients and enjoys the fact that dentistry allows him an opportunity to help people. He is board certified and licensed to practice Dentistry in Illinois, California and Tennessee. Dr. Chang is a member of the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
Dr. QuaNeedria Logan attended the prestigious Metro Academic and Classical High School, a unique college preparatory school for gifted students, in Saint Louis, Missouri. Dr. Logan completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with Distinction. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UMKC School of Dentistry in 2008, where she was honored with a Cosmetic Dentistry Award. Dr. Logans compassion for her patients is evident through her gentle chairside manner. She is committed to professional development and continuing education. Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Logan enjoys reading, running, and learning Spanish.
Dr. Jenny Jung is devoted to providing her patients with beautiful, long lasting smiles and good oral health. Dr. Jung wants to make sure patients feel welcomed and comfortable. Dr. Jung received her Bachelors Degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology with highest honors. She was involved in multiple research projects while in college and in Munich, Germany. Dr. Jung was a recipient of the Presidential Undergraduate Research Award and her research project was published in an international research journal.
Dr. Jung obtained her DMD degree from the Dental College of Georgia where she learned to enjoy many aspects of dentistry. Her interest in how oral health affects the rest of the body motivated her to get involved with the Inter-Professional Education program in which she provided oral cancer screenings to Medical students. Dr. Jung is a member of the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society and the American Dental Association. When she is not practicing dentistry, she likes to stay active by kayaking, jogging, visiting museums and attending concerts.
Dr. Shivani Patel grew up in northwest Indiana. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, where she majored in Biology and Neuroscience. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine at Tufts University in Boston, MA. She became interested in dentistry when she had her braces taken off and realized how much confidence a smile could give you. She now loves providing comprehensive care to her patients and helping patients achieve their own perfect smile moments.
Dr. Patel believes that it is important to be an active part of the dental community and always continue learning. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. She is always taking continuing education courses in various subjects to provide the highest quality care to her patients.
Dr. Gayatri Satam is a native of the Rogers Park/Edgewater neighborhoods of Chicago. She received her DMD from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry where she was also awarded the Dr. Kamlesh Amin Scholarship for academic achievement and inducted into the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Satam is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society. She uses the latest techniques in dentistry to provide you and your family with healthy and beautiful smiles. She is gentle, patient, and thorough and will make your experience comfortable and leave you with a better understanding of your oral health. She attends continuing education classes to further broaden her knowledge and dental services.
