Dr. Recker grew up in Pella, Iowa, with small town friendliness, strong work ethic, integrity, respect for others, and a strong faith. His Dad and brother are also dentists, so naturally Dr. Recker got an early start in the field by helping around the office while growing up.

Since that time, Dr. Recker has modernized periodontics in the Rochester area, offering new best practices, complex treatment plans and intricate surgeries. As an implant expert in the Southeastern Minnesota area, he has placed over 1,700 implants with a high 99% success rate.

Dr. Reckers dedication to periodontology is evident in the choices he makes to stay current in this field. In 2010, Dr. Recker achieved his Board Certification, earning him Diplomate status by the American Board of Periodontology. Additionally, Dr. Recker is an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, teaching clinical periodontics to dental students and periodontal residents. Dr. Recker attended the University of Iowa where he completed his undergraduate studies and was accepted early into the College of Dentistry, one of the top 3 dental schools in the nation. As he excelled, he quickly realized his meticulous attention to detail and love for learning would allow him to specialize in the field of periodontics. During his residency at Iowa, Dr. Recker received training in all aspects of modern periodontology and was mentored by a leading clinician in the areas of esthetics, dental implants and bone grafting. Additionally, Dr. Recker received training in various sedation methods at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In conjunction with his periodontal training, Dr. Recker completed an intense research initiative to earn his Masters Degree in Oral Science. His research on bone harvesting was innovative in the world of periodontics and won several awards. After graduating from residency in 2009, Dr. Recker and his wife, Betsy, moved to Rochester.

As a leader in his field, Dr. Recker is highly skilled, yet his true motivation is treating each patient with compassion and excellent care. He is known for actively listening to his patients, respecting them and treating them in a friendly, caring environment. Hi, my name is Artem Shurduk, and Im excited to be part of the stellar team that Dr. Recker has developed over the years. I am happy to part of a practice where I can apply the full scope of my skills and knowledge to serve the best of patients needs.

Southern Minnesota is strikingly similar to the place in Central Russia where I grew up. It has a very similar climate and landscape, so I got used to having separate sets of winter tires, summer tires, and occasionally using the snowshoes.

I received my dental degree in Moscow, Russia, after completing a rigorous, five-year long full-time undergraduate program that included many hospital rotations and several short internships in dental clinics. During my years in dental school, I realized that I was always interested in the surgical aspects of dentistry because I saw what positive changes it can bring to patients lives. My one-year internship in pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery further reinforced my interest, and I continued my training in an oral surgery residency. Even though residency was filled with long clinic hours, emergency rotations, and research, I also worked in several private dental practices to gain additional experience.

During my years in residency, I built a strong foundation in the profession that helped me in private practice as I was transitioning from simple clinical cases to the more challenging ones. My specialty gives me great professional satisfaction when I see how outcomes of my work are restoring patients ability to smile and how patients are regaining confidence.

After being almost ten years in a private oral surgery practice, I decided to pursue additional postgraduate education in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Three years of extremely demanding clinical and didactic training helped me to further polish my clinical skills under the guidance of the brightest specialists in the field.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Alena, and reading sci-fi books. Also, Im a great enthusiast of snowboarding, and Im missing our regular family ski trips to the French Alps.

I have known that I wanted to work in the Dental field since I was young. I graduated from Rochester Community & Technical College earning my Associates Degree as an Administrative Assistant, as well as a Dental Assistant in 2013. I learned very quickly that I have a strong passion for the field of Periodontics.

Working alongside Dr. Recker and the API team has allowed me to gain incredible knowledge about Periodontics and also quality of care for patients. I continue to learn new things every day and I am always up for a challenge. My goal each day is to maintain strong relationships with my coworkers, referring offices, and especially patients. It is very important to me to help educate patients as well as referring offices so that patients get the treatment and care they desire.

Other than my career, I enjoy quality time spent with my husband Robbie, our squishy little girl Isla, and our two fur babies Gunner and Rosa. I enjoy traveling, playing softball and golf in the summer, hunting in the fall, interior painting and decorating, spending time at the family farm, and have a strong passion for Chipotle and Netflix!

Before becoming a Dental Hygienist, I had a career in Cosmetology. The patient interaction and ability to make a difference in someones life are two similar qualities between Dental Hygiene and Cosmetology that really make my career rewarding. Being able to transfer the energy of giving a client a makeover, into the energy of giving a patient a healthier, brighter smile is so fulfilling.

My favorite part about dentistry is the patient relationships that are formed within the office. This is what led me to my current position at API as the Patient Care Coordinator. I really love being able to greet each patient with a smile and make them feel comfortable and welcome before they begin their care in our office. With my career, I also enjoy the variety of tasks that I endure on a daily basis.

In 2007 I graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. I came back home to Southeast Minnesota to complete my dental training at Rochester Community and Technical College. I earned my Dental Assisting license in 2009 and Dental Hygiene license in 2014.

Since 2009, I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Recker and specializing in periodontics both as a dental assistant and dental hygienist. What I have found to be most rewarding is seeing the improvement and progress our patients make from one visit to the next.

Outside the office, I am a Tennessee Volunteer fan, which makes orange my favorite color and Rocky Top my favorite song. While I have managed to coerce my husband and three sons into wearing Tennessee gear, I am still trying to talk Dr. Recker into allowing me to wear orange scrubs. No luck yet!

I originally graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Chippewa Valley Technical College in 2010 and worked in General Dentistry in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I grew up in southeastern Minnesota and found my way back to the Rochester area in 2014. That is when I began working with Dr. Recker at Advanced Periodontics & Implants. Since then, I gained a new knowledge for a different part of dentistry.

I have grown to have a passion for Periodontics and love the variety it brings to my career. I have learned so many new things and continue to learn each day. Knowing I get to be a part of improving other peoples lives each day, is the best part of my job.

Aside my devotion to my career, I enjoy helping with the family dairy farm and taking care of the farm cats. I also like to run long distance, spend time with family and friends, reading, a good cup of coffee, and I really love going out for breakfast!

I worked in general dentistry for 9 years before joining the API team. I greatly enjoy working along side Dr. Recker and the surgical side of dentistry that a specialty practice offers. I thrive on learning and love that Dr. Recker enjoys teaching!

While in New York, I worked for an Ophthalmology practice. I enjoyed assisting with patient care and appreciated the small practice feel. I was thrilled to find a similar opportunity when joining the API team in August 2018.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking up new recipes, boating with my husband, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, catching a good episode of Dateline, vacationing to visit family, or snuggling my sweet pups, Katie, Tala, and Stella.

Hi! My name is Morgan and I was born and raised in the small town of Pine Island. After high school, I ventured to the chilly state of North Dakota where I received my Bachelors Degree in Communication. After moving back home, I decided to pursue a career in Dental Assisting, where I received my training at RCTC.

I completed my Dental Hygiene degree at RCTC in 2015, and went on to complete my bachelors of Dental Hygiene in 2017 through Minnesota State, Mankato. Its very rewarding establishing relationships with our patients and seeing the progress they continue to make, not only with their oral health but their overall health! The doctors and the API team are extremely passionate about helping their patients; Im blessed to be a part of this team!

I graduated from the Dental Assistant program at Rochester Community and Technical college in 2006. Throughout my Dental Assistant career, I have worked in Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, and Prosthodontics. I found the field of Periodontics is where my heart belongs, and I absolutely love what I do. Periodontics provides the perfect amount challenges and rewards to make everyday exciting.

I grew up in the Rochester area and stayed here to raise my own family. My husband and I have two awesome boys that keep us on our toes! As a family we enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, fishing and of course gardening! We also have a big pup named Moose that joins us on our adventures!

My name is Summer, and I was born and raised in Rochester and graduated from John Marshall High School. Shortly after high school, I attended RCTC for Dental Assisting, and later went on to pursue a degree in Dental Hygiene. I am the middle child of three, having two brothers, and now I also have three nephews and one niece. I am lucky enough to still have my whole family living in Rochester. Although I am from Minnesota, I have yet to embrace the winters here! Cold weather is not my favorite!

I have three children; Brayden, Keegan, and Brynlee. I like to stay active with kickboxing and enjoy being outdoors. I have a love for NFL football, and am a diehard MN Vikings fan! I am also known to get hooked on reality TV shows!

In addition to sports, I enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family. My favorite foods are pizza, ice cream, and anything spicy. I have a special weakness for anything that contains chocolate!
