(Founder)J. Kyle House, D.D.S.received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and served as a General Dentist in the US Army. While stationed in Giessen, Germany, he was given the opportunity to treat children and discovered that pediatrics was clearly his favorite field. He attended his Pediatric Dental Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington and the University of Washington. After leaving the Army, he spent five years as the Director of Pediatric Oral Medicine at Scott & White Hospital Systems in Temple, Texas. Dr. House completed his Pediatric Dental Board Certification in April 1996. In 1999, he moved to Oregon to open his private practice in Hood River, which has expanded to five clinics (three in Oregon and two in Washington).
Dr. House's main concern is advocacy and access to care for children. He has served on numerous local, state, regional and national organizations that work to improve children's access to dental care, and has testified on behalf of children on a national level, providing medical information to lawmakers. In addition, Dr. House is a Consultant to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has assisted in providing their Oral Clinical Exams since 2006.
Dr. House enjoys being an active part of the community and spending time with his wife, Jill, and his three daughters. His latest project is developing a vineyard and learning about winemaking and viniculture. He likes being outdoors and loves to cook, creating imaginative breakfasts, and like a true Texan can explain the critical differences between grilling and barbecue.
You may have noticed that sometimes your dental insurer reimburses you or the dentist at a lower rate than the dentist 's actual fee. Frequently, insurance companies state that the reimbursement was reduced because your dentist 's fee has exceeded the usual, customary, or reasonable fee ('UCR') used by the company.
A statement such as this gives the impression that any fee greater than the amount paid by the insurance company is unreasonable or well above what most dentists in the area charge for a certain service. This can be very misleading and simply is not accurate.
Insurance companies set their own schedules and each company uses a different set of fees they consider allowable. These allowable fees may vary widely because each company collects fee information from claims it processes. The insurance company then takes this data and arbitrarily chooses a level they call the 'allowable' UCR Fee. Frequently this data can be three to five years old and these 'allowable' fees are set by the insurance company so they can make a net 20%-30% profit.
Unfortunately, insurance companies imply that your dentist is 'overcharging' rather than say that they are 'underpaying' or that their benefits are low. In general, the less expensive insurance policy will use a lower usual, customary, or reasonable (UCR) figure.

The hygienist is amazing! We loved her! The new orthodontist is not very personable. She did not give me any eye contact or tell me what was going on with my daughter. She did not speak to my child at all. Working in pediatrics, it would seem like she should have more interaction with children. She seemed like she did not enjoy her job at all. I am praying that we are making the right choice by staying there! But the Hygienist, she was so worth us being there!!!!!

The entire staff we interacted with were excellent with my kids. I couldn't have asked anything more of them. Their skill was as equally impressive. My daughter was very nervous about getting her cavity filled and she did not feel the numbing. I felt like they knew exactly what they were doing and we were in good hands and you could say I can be on the vigilant/particular side.

We saw a new dentist today. After after years of taking my children to this dentist's office this new Dr informed me that my kids teeth were a mess and that they all needed orthodontia the youngest being 5. I take my children to the dentist every 6 months and this is the 1st we have ever heard of this. He seemed determined to throw the previous dentist under the bus and kept saying this has been ignored for far too long. My children are very shy and quiet and the Dr kept repeating over and over how much they needed to floss and brush and was in their face about it. One of my boys almost cried. I will be finding out which days this dentist works and we will be seeing the other dentist from now on.

The staff here is phenomenal. Hands down one of the best places for outstanding customer service in the tri-cities as well as excellent dental care and orthodontics. The only place I'll recommend!!

They wouldn't check us in without a mask. I was willing to wear one if they provided me one, but they did not provide one for me. As the receptionist refused to check my daughter in, a worker walked past in the back with their mask not properly worn. Hypocrisy at its finest. We will continue to wait until the circus show ends and anyone can be seen without discrimination.

Front office help is terrible at their job's, absolutely disrespectful, and rude. We have been here for years and they are always pushing back work on the kids. One of the boys has had a cavity for over 3 months,all they do is change his date, tried to work them to get him somewhere to help his pain and they won't even send the paperwork to help an 7 years. He's in pain and we can't gett them to send paperwork to have it fixed. I will admit the Doctor and people who do the actual work are great. The front office is worthless.

Horrible service! As a person who used to work at a dental office I find the workers here very unprofessional. They change your appointment your told one date and show up to your appointment and told a different day. Paid for daycare and arrange time off and told there's nothing they can do, would not recommend this place at all save your time and money!! Update: Got a call back from the manager, was able to get my son seen sooner then August better communication and service!
