Dr. Benjamin Larrabee founded Advanced Orthodontics in 2005. He is passionate about creating healthy, beautiful smiles in the East Valley and is dedicated to the community supporting several programs, including Phoenix Childrens Hospital and the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America. He loves to support his patients in their extracurricular activities as well.
After excelling at the renowned University of Michigan Dental School and finishing in the top 5% of his class, Dr. Larrabee attended the state-of-the-art Marquette University and received his Masters in Orthodontics. Dr. Larrabee loved Marquettes program as it gave him exposure to the different approaches and technologies available in orthodontics. After completing his residency in 2003, Dr. Larrabee practiced in the city of Chicago for three years until he realized he needed more sunshine and made the move to Arizona.
He loves living in the Valley of the Sun and resides here with his wife, Carly, and their three children; Luke, Will and Farrah. You will find him in Michigan (GO BLUE!) gear whenever he can. He enjoys spending time with his family and coaching their various sports teams.
Dr. Prashansa Sharma-Makwana joined the Advanced Orthodontics Team in 2020. She loves making a trip to the orthodontist a fun experience and creating personal relationships with each of our patients whether they are members of our Kids Club or in treatment.
Originally from Chicago, Dr. Sharma completed the dental program at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. She went on to continue her education with the orthodontic program at Tufts University, receiving the Dr. Norman H. Diamond Award for her excellence in orthodontics and high level of professionalism and leadership. Having moved around the country almost 15 times, she found a home in Arizona in 2016, where she began practicing.

Dr. Larrabee and his team were a total dream to work with for both of our children's orthodontic needs! They were kind and caring, they took the time to address their needs, they answered all the questions and gave great advice for dealing with broken brackets, pokey wires and hard to place bands. AND they were just FUN! Our family is more than pleased with the results and we'll recommend Advanced Orthodontics always.

I went in for a consultation for Invisalign and had the best experience ever. The staff and Dr. Larabee we're all the absolute nicest people ever. The environment is very inviting and beautiful! I had braces 15 plus years ago and was never satisfied with how my teeth look after. After my consultation with Dr. Larabee, I can say I have the confidence with an orthodontist who genuinely cares and hears me out for what I would like fixed. I'm really excited to start this journey with advance orthodontics!
