Dr. Harry L. Legan has specialized in treating the most challenging orthodontic cases for more than 34 years. He served for 32 years in full-time academics as associate professor and director of orthodontics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School-Parkland Memorial Hospital, professor and chairman of orthodontics at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, and founding professor and chairman of orthodontics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Legan serves on the editorial boards of several journals, including The Angle Orthodontist and the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics. He has authored numerous publications and lectured extensively worldwide.

Dr. Legan is an internationally recognized orthodontic expert on diagnosis and treatment planning, obstructive sleep apnea, orthognathic surgery, biomechanics, and distraction osteogenesis. He has been awarded numerous awards, honors, and prizes because of his work in these arenas.

Dr. Legan is vice president of the North Atlantic Component of the E.H. Angle Society, president of the Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and orthodontic member of the TennCare Advisory Committee. He is currently pursuing a variety of professional interests, including lecturing, private practice, appliance development, clinical research, consulting, and expert witness.

Dr. Hernandez has been practicing orthodontics for more than 15 years. He has dental degrees from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. Dr. Hernandez received his certificate in orthodontics from Vanderbilt University and since then he has served asafull-time faculty member at variousorthodontic programs in the US and Canada.

At the present, he holds a faculty position at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicines Department of Orthodontics and has been appointed team orthodontist at the Childrens Hospital in Denver as the cleft lip and palate specialist.

Dr. Hernandez teaches residents the management of complex cases that requirecombined orthodontic/orthognathic surgery treatment, treatment of pre-adolescents, and management of patients with craniofacial anomalies.

Dr. Sinn is a clinical professor, past chairman of the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, and servedon the UT faculty from July 1974 to September 2004. He joined the faculty after completion of his residency at the University of Texas-Parkland Memorial Hospital and its affiliates. Prior to that,he received his baccalaureate degree at the University of Iowa, and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

After joining the faculty at UT Southwestern-Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dr. Sinn was actively involved in direction of the resident education program and the management of the patients at Parkland Hospital. He was named director of the residency program in 1978, and promoted to associate professor in 1980. In 1984, he was named chairman of the residency program, which coincided with his promotion to full professor.

Dr. Sinns clinical interests includecranio-maxillofacial surgery, jaw surgery, management of disorders of the temporomandibular joint, dental implantology, pathology, aesthetic facial surgery, and dental alveolar surgery. He currently has an active private practice in facial and oral surgery in Mansfield, Texas. He also has attending staff privileges at Mansfield Methodist Hospital, Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano, and Childrens Medical Center of Dallas.

Dr. Sinn is board certified and has served as president of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also served as chairman of the OMS Foundation. Dr. Sinn is wellknown, both nationally and internationally, in the specialty of OMS, and has written many articles, books, and book chapters. He has been active as both a speaker and consultant in the OMS. He currently maintains an active role in teaching on a part-time basis atthe UT Southwestern Medical Center and affiliated hospitals.
