Karen is a Sunshine State native, and relocated to the Tampa area 6 years ago. She started in general dentistry in 2007 and moved into oral surgery in 2010. Karen has opened 4 offices throughout her career, and thoroughly enjoys training and developing a collaborative team that focuses on patient care. When not providing expert care to patients, she spends her free time scuba diving, travelling with her boys and she loves spending time with her fancy chickens.
Jill is from Iowa, but has made her home in the sunshine state for 10+ years. Jill enjoys trying out new recipes and practicing yoga in her spare time. She is always smiling and has an infectious laugh.
Ana relocated from the panhandle of Florida to Tampa within the past couple of years. She enjoys hiking, yoga, and thrift shopping. She loves coffee and travels every chance she gets. Ana is IV administration certifiedand will be working towards her DAANCE certification.
Yolanda brings over a dozen years of experience in oral surgery and front office administration. She ensures that the patients are warmly welcomed and works with our patients for all administrative items including scheduling and insurance. When not in the office Yolanda enjoys spending time with her family, reading a good book and traveling.
Dr. Thomas Backeris completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. He trained extensively in anesthesia, facial trauma and reconstruction, pathology, orthognathic surgery, complex bone grafting, dental implants, and surgical dental extractions.
Prior, Dr. Backeris earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was actively involved in the American Student Dental Association, Mission of Mercy, and he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.

Such a great experience here! I was recommended from a friend to come here since I'm not from the area, and they did so amazing and were super accommodating to me as my first scheduled appointment had to be moved because I got sick and everyone I spoke to over the phone and in the office was super sweet and helpful. Also, best IV I've ever had put in me by Lisa herself she was amazing! great experience overall would 100% recommend :)

Everyone on the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled and minimal symptoms following. Highly recommend :)

Came to advanced oral surgery to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed and am beyond fortunate to have done it here! The staff is wonderful and surgeon Dr. Edwards removed all 4 without any difficulty or complications. Zero mouth pain after and eating just like normal. Thank you so much =)

I am so impressed with not only the caring attitude of the entire staff, but especially Dr. Doroshenko. I went into my first appointment with potentially serious dental complications and have been so pleased with the entire process including my surgical procedure and multiple follow up appointments. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is in need of the dental services they offer. Beyond what I expected! You all should be very proud .

This is a great place to go. Especially if you are fearful. The Drs and staff put you at ease. They explain everything and work with you on a solution that is designed for the individual needs. Thank you for easing my fears. Also wanted to say that the staff helped me with a health problem I didn't know I had. I owe you all so much. A thank you doesn't cover it. I seen dr. Edwards my husband seen dr. Dorshanko. Both are very professional and very pleasant to work with. They understand that some people are just nervous about going there. But once there they make sure you feel better about the experience. We would highly recommend this office for anyone who is putting off dental appointments . This should be a 5 star rating .

My 12 year-old daughter had surgery to expose canine teeth at Advanced Oral Surgery. Her experience was very pleasant. Dr. Edward and his staffs were kind, knowledgeable and made her very comfortable. Thank you to everyone at Advanced Oral Surgery at Land O Lake.

Exceptional office. My son is 9 and had a bad experience the first couple times at a dentist. Took a long time for me to find someone who could get rid of that fear and for him to trust another dentist. The office literally makes you feel like home as well as the amazing staff. My son also has adhd which makes things even more difficult and they still did not falter. Mind you it takes you 20 minutes to explain a 5 minute process to my son but the nurse did not once get impatient or made my son feel like he wasn't paying attention. Basically an amazing office. Extremely and highly recommend!!

From start to finish Advanced Oral Surgery of Tampa has been very consistent with customer service, communication and overall patient care. Dr. Edwards is a wonderful and caring doctor! He has amazing manual dexterity to perform operations. I did not experience any pain or swelling after the surgery. He inspires confidence and provides an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Edwards is a 5-star oral surgeon. The best!!! The office staff is pleasant and professional. I definitely recommend this practice.

i took 2 of my daughters to this unprofessional place. i complained to the office manager in Valrico about our experience in land o lakes. they had no empathy nor did they care to make us feel more comfortable. after a year i am writing this review because i had to call them for a receipt for my FSA account. when i googled their business i noticed they left a positive review in my name without my permission. i also found out they billed me over 1k when we were not supposed to have any balance remaining after they charged me on the day of service. One of my daughters still has severe TMJ after having her 4 wisdom teeth removed from the female doctor. save yourself and children agony and distress. this business doesnt care about their patients and is willing to write fake reviews to try to keep a high rating.
