Dr. Craig Lowrie graduated from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. When he was there he took extra courses on treating dentally anxious patients and learned new techniques for giving pain free anesthetic. He moved to Alaska with his wife and two children where he bought Advanced Family Dentistry from his predecessor and mentor Dr. Christensen.
Dr. Lowrie and his family enjoy fishing, camping and skiing. They also like to hike with their two dogs, Ellie, a Newfoundland and Franklin, a Bullmastiff. Alaska is a wonderful place to be and Dr. Lowrie and his wife are happy to raise their family in this great state.
Dr. Holt is an upbeat, confident doctor who loves meeting all the different personalities that walk in the door. He does his best to make his patients feel comfortable and at ease in his care, and is eager to design an individualized plan to help each and every one of his patients with their dental goals.

Unlike a CPAP machine, the Vivos System offers permanent relief from mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea caused by jaw malformations such as maxillary hypoplasia and mandibular retrognathia. Maxillary hypoplasia occurs when the upper jaw is underdeveloped and mandibular retrognathiaoccurs when your lower jaw is set too far back. These issues can create a narrow airway which may prevent you from breathing correctly while you sleep.
If you are, we will fabricate and custom fit your appliances which you will need to wear diligently for the course of treatment, which can range from 12-24 months. Occasional adjustments will be made throughout your treatment.

The best Dentist office I have ever been to. Dentists are very friendly, professional and do great work. The same goes for the Dental Assistants. The office is always clean and the office staff are always helpful and friendly. I would recommend this office to all my friends and family.

This was my third visit in a year and a half and still very happy with the office and medical staff. The hygienist is very friendly and professional. Did see a different dentist this time, the main one (I think). It's nice actually seeing peoples faces this visit too!

Everyone made me feel really comfortable. I have really bad anxiety, and felt relaxed by the time I left because everyone was so nice. I have a severe fear of dentists and dental work, but I didn't shake at all when I was there. My teeth are pretty bad and they didn't give any looks or say anything other than something nice.

I was referred by Dr Mann for a root canal and had been prescribed antibiotics for an abscess but hesitant about any Med's, I gave it a week after the root canal to start antibiotics. after pain didn't subside, hoping root canal would help, I contacted Dr. Lowrie requesting a call back but instead was left a message with an appointment for less than two hours later when I thought I just needed a refill ?! I was told that the Dr. Lowrie was booked until 4:00-4:30 so I didn't expect him to call back until after that but I was called and asked " if I was gonna keep my appointment?" What appointment? I live in Eagle River and he was serving the Anchorage community at the time so I must've been at least 30 to 45 minutes out yet she called me at the appointment time with a snarky attitude like I should've just known to be there. This lack of communication created a rift of distrust so I changed my original "solicited" review, glowing recommendation down to a one star after feeling like my trust had been violated and I have been blown off by Dr Lowrie! If someone has an abscess and has been treated with a root canal and requests a phone call I don't think that's too much when I seem to be getting worse after my course of antibiotics has run out. Having the receptionist tell me that "this would be billed as an emergency visit not to worry about my insurance caps", didn't help with understanding why they wanted me in?! It took a subsequent follow up visit back to an awesome dentist Dr. Mann at Mann family dentistry to explain that root canal looked good and that it's not a good idea to continue with antibiotics and I needed to be seen by a dentist or Endodontist but I wish Dr. Lowery had been respectful enough to explain that himself. So unprecedentedly, I will upgrade the rating in case I judged Dr Lowrie wrongly and that this was front office issues and not a reflection of lack of care, follow up or professionalism or a lack of communication and compassion for my pain and infection! Odd no call after a one star review? Does this office care, we will see! Keep you posted!

I was very pleased with these folks as they were all very nice to me and seemed like they were wonderful humans to go to for any problems with your teeth! They were very good at explaining everything clearly and in a concise manner. I was quite pleased with my the outcome of my appointment, and will be returning to these folks again, very soon!
