Karen joined AFD part-time in 2016 and transitioned to full-time in 2018. She has worked in the dental field for over 40 years with experience in periodontal and general dentistry. Karen's experience and knowledge is a wonderful benefit to our patients. She oversees benefit verification, claim processing, and insurance pre-treatment estimates, andensures claims are processed in a timely manner.
Marlissa joined AFD part-time in 2019 after almost 30 years of full-time floral design she was looking for a change. She has over 30 years of business and customer service experience which has been a tremendous asset to AFD. In addition to processing monthly billing, Marlissa also handles all dental insurance explanation of benefits, entering insurance payments and requests for additional information needed to get a claim paid; her determination, dedication, experience and knowledge is a wonderful asset to AFD and an enormous benefit to our patients.
In her 'off' time, Marlissa continues her passion for floral design by working part-time at Flowers by Candlelite in Denville NJ. She is a dedicated Miami Dolphin and NY Rangers fan. In her spare time she enjoys watching Nascar, spending time with family and friends - especially her 12 year old mountain dog Harley.
Olivia joined Advanced Family Dentistry in April 2020 when COVID-19 changed life as we knew it. She has been a pivotal asset to AFD by overseeing all aspects of COVID-19. She has done extensive research and implemented advanced sterilization techniques, in addition to the many office updates and changes that have been necessary in order to comply with federal and state mandates. Since coming aboard, Olivia has made it her top priority to protect and ensure the safety of every patient and staff member during this difficult time. She continues to stay informed on all COVID-19 changes, updates, vaccines and mandates; subsequently making any and all adjustments to Advanced Family Dentistry.
Amanda graduated from Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey with an Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene. She has always enjoyed helping people, she has a great sense of humor and patients are love her.
Amanda is gentle and very caring. She thoroughly enjoysdental hygiene and seeing her patients smile makes it effortless. She enjoys educating patients on the benefits of good oral hygiene as well as collaborating with colleagues to create patient specific treatment plans.
Amanda was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States with her family when she was three years old. She played softball and soccer at her local High School. She became an certified EMT and worked as a volunteer for Hackensack Ambulance for 2 years. She has a 6 year old daughter who is a ballet dancer.
Rizwana is a dental Assistant and has over 28 years of dental experience. She has been with Advanced Family Dentistry since 2018. She enjoys working with Dr. Fernandez and interacting with our patients. Rizwana is kind, compassionate, and an absolute joy to have as part of our AFD family.

I love these people. They are very professional and have always done a great job. I have been seeing Dr. Fernandez for 15+ years now. He has always kept his practice up-to-date with cutting edge technology. I just had a pain-free root canal. I love my dentist!!!

Wait to be scene was 15 minutes. Was there for checkup and cleaning. Dr. only spent as little as 2-3 minutes examining me. Did not feel the Dr. Did a thorough job.
