It is an honor to partner with my patients to achieve their dental goals. Whether it involves alleviating pain, restoring oral health and function, making a smile a little more pleasing, or improving home dental hygiene care, we achieve our patients goals by working together.
I value the relationship that develops between each patient and myself. Starting with our first conversation, I foster that rapport through non-judgmental communication and actively listening to the persons desires and concerns. This creates a bond of trust: I genuinely care about the person, beyond his or her dental needs, and want to help as best I can.
Not everyone likes to see the dentist, and some people come in with a fear of dentistry. Its my responsibility to understand this apprehension and help the person overcome it. I dont judge, and will never pressure someone into a certain treatment path.
Instead, I thoroughly explain their clinical situation and walk them through the treatment options. We discuss the pros and cons of each, so the individual is able to make informed decisions about their smiles health.
One of the most exciting aspects of dentistry is the ongoing development of new techniques and technology. I love learning and staying current on the latest information in order to determine whats best to bring into the practice.
As an active member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and Monmouth Dental Society, I have access to a range of continuing education, as well. Taking courses locally, regionally, and nationally, and attending meetings and lectures, allows me to learn from the leaders in the field.
I grew up here in Freehold and now live in Manalapan with my wife and two daughters. Much of my free time is spent with my family; it is a pleasure to watch my daughters grow and thrive! I find time to read, and love traveling as well as trying and learning about new foods, but being with my family has beenmy priority.
We are committed to providing the highest quality of clinical care and personalized service in a warm and compassionate atmosphere. Our doctor and staff enjoy getting to know each patient and thefamily, and we love creating relationships that last multiple generations.

I just had my first appointment with advanced family dental today, I was a little nervous because I had not been to the dentist in a few years but my cleaning went very smooth I didn't feel a thing. And everyone there was so friendly and comforting. Explained everything very thoroughly. I will definitely continue to come here for my future cleanings!

Truely appreciate Dr Fan for taking care of my teeth. I am very sensitive and have had problems with my teeth my whole life. His hand is super light and he explained everything that needed to be done. Never rushed which is what is important to me. I've always walked out with a relief. Office staff has always been amazing and super helpful.

Pristine office with Great friendly staff! Especially Chelsea who Is very knowledgeable and caring and always greets me upon entering the office with a smile (behind the mask lol)! Dr Fan is awesome! Dr Jonathan Fan is the best dentist I have visited. He is on the cutting edge of new procedures. He is helping me through some difficult, age related dental issues... pain free! Chelsea and Cathy are always so helpful. The best hygienist was this cleaning. I can't remember her name, but she only works Saturdays.

Dr Fan took me in as an emergency patient for a root canal. He went above and beyond to care for me. He had a very gentle touch while working on me and with me. His dental assistant was so kind and genuinely caring. Chelsea was so kind and caring to get me in so quickly and truly cared about me and my needs. I will absolutely stay with this dr and his practice and recommend highly.

I have been a patient at AFD for over 3 years. Very friendly and helpful staff- especially Chelsea in the front! She even has taken extra time to help me navigate the insurance piece of everything and always with a smile on her face. Very good communication and appointment reminders. Dental hygienists are also always very nice and know how to make people feel comfortable. Dr. Fan is great at what he does, and always provide great explanations and answers any questions I have. Highly recommend.

I went to Advanced Family Dentistry for a standard teeth cleaning and had my X-Rays done. Dr. Fan was very attentive and kind in his care. He taught me how to properly brush and floss my teeth, and how to access the hard-to-get places. I felt very comfortable and well taken care of! The office was very clean, modern, and welcoming. To top it off, his staff was super nice and friendly, and very helpful on the phone.

Staff are amazing, so helpful, and friendly. Customer service is the best I've seen. Dr. Fan is very thorough and he's very patient oriented. I've never felt any pain. I had a fear of dentists from bad experiences and he took that fear away. I highly highly recommend him and his staff.
