Dr. Joel Chasen grew up in Cheshire, CT. After graduating from Choate Rosemary Hall in 1992 he moved to Atlanta where he earned his Bachelors degree from Emory University. He then went on to obtain his DMD degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2000. Continuing his education in Boston, he completed his specialty training in endodontics (root canals) at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. After finishing his training in Boston, Dr. Chasen moved back to Cheshire to join Advanced Endodontics of Connecticut. He has been in full-time private practice limited to endodontics ever since.
Although he focuses most of his energy into his passion for clinical endodontics, Dr. Chasen has also involved himself in scientific research. He has performed studies on the factors that influence the success/failure of endodontic treatment, and investigated the possible link between endodontic disease and cardiovascular disease. His research has been published in the Journal of Dental Research as well as the Journal of Endodontics.
Dr. Chasen is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, a past-president of the Meriden-Wallingford-Cheshire Dental society, and currently sits on the board of directors of the Schilder Institute for the Advancement of Endodontics. He has been repeatedly recognized as a 'Top Endodontist' by Connecticut Magazine and the USA topDentists survey. He enjoys learning about and playing with technology and spending time with his wife and two sons.
Dr. Andrea Gentile-Fiori grew up in City Island, NY with her parents and twin brother, Andrew. In 1983, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then attended the State University of New York Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine where she earned her DDS Degree upon graduation in 1987. Dr. Gentile-Fiori completed a one-year residency in general dentistry at Stony Brook University Hospital in 1988. She then completed a two year specialty training residency in endodontics (root canals) at Nassau County Medical Center in NY, serving as chief resident in her second year. After completing her specialty training in 1990, Dr. Gentile-Fiori moved back to City Island with her husband and began her endodontic career in private practice in Queens, NY. When her husband, John, accepted a position with Sikorsky Aircraft, they moved to Connecticut to start their family and she began practicing in Meriden, CT. In the years that followed, Dr. Gentile-Fiori worked tirelessly to grow the practice into what has now become Advanced Endodontics of Connecticut, including engineering the expansion into southern Connecticut with the opening of a Stratford office.
Dr. Gentile-Fiori is a proud member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Meriden-Wallingford-Cheshire Dental Association, the Bridgeport Dental Association and the American Association of Women Dentists. She has been repeatedly recognized as a 'Top Endodontist' by Connecticut Magazine and the USA topDentists survey. She enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her husband, four children and four dogs, and being a dedicated hockey mom.
Joshua Dembsky, a native of central New Jersey, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University in 1996, before attending dental school at the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving his dental degree in 2000, Joshua began his military service as a dental officer in the United States Navy. In 2001, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Naval Dental Center Southeast in Jacksonville, Florida, before fulfilling his 4 years of Naval service at Naval Dental Center Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk and Naval Air Station Oceana. He then went on to complete his residency in Endodontics (root canals) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2006, and practiced endodontics in private practice in New Mexico before joining the team at Advanced Endodontics of Connecticut in 2007.
Dr. Dembsky is a Board Certified Endodontist and has won numerous awards including the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship and the Pierre Fauchard Dental Leadership Award. He has conducted original research at the University of Pennsylvania, Louisiana State University, and the Smithsonian Institution, and has lectured at multiple dental society meetings. He has been repeatedly recognized as a 'Top Endodontist' by Connecticut Magazine and the USA topDentists survey. His personal interests include travel and the outdoors and he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

The BEST experience a root canal could possibly be. I had put off getting it for over a year in fear of the pain. I wish I had gone in sooner. It was nearly completely pain free. The only pain at all was the Novocain which I have had plenty of times before and was used to. The actual procedure itself was painless and surprisingly a little relaxing to just lay there and feel nothing. Dr. Chasen was top notch. He told me everything he was doing before he did it, explained the entire procedure to me, assured me I should feel no pain at all, and was also extremely personable and friendly. I would give 10 stars if I could.

I saw Dr. Chasen in regard to a much needed root canal. I've had a bad experience in the past regarding a root canal and not being numb enough. This one particular tooth has caused me a great deal of pain and I was a little nervous prior to the procedure, however, I was referred to his practice and heard nothing but positive reviews/ experiences. When I arrived for my procedure, Dr. Chasen explained the root canal procedure and also stated that many of his patients actually fall asleep midway through the procedure. I thought to myself who can fall asleep during a root canal? Well, sure enough, Dr. Chasen numbed the area and I didn't feel a thing and slightly dozed off during the procedure. I never thought I would correlate having a root canal with a positive experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Chasen for any endodontic needs!

Root canals are never fun, but I discovered that they can be pain free! Dr. Andrea Gentile-Fiori is kind, calm, and gentle; no white knuckles for me! My case was challenging and she didn't even break a sweat! All staff were kind and friendly and competent. I highly recommend having your root canal done by Dr. Andrea Gentile-Fiori, a professional with heart.

Root canals are never pleasant, but I'll tell you what... Dr. Saidon was the best shot-giver I've ever had! He is like the nerve whisperer, whispers to the nerve "it'll be okay," and before you know it, you're done. Can he do all my shots for all my dental work?!? Thank you for the good experience! Great office.

This is a GREAT practice. I went here after complications with a root canal I had done by a prior dentist. Dr. Andrea Gentile-Furio took her time in figuring out exactly where the problem was coming from. We were unsure if it may have cracked or been the root canal, so we decided to save the tooth and if she noticed it was cracked that we would go ahead and pull it. I trusted her completely, and behold we found out that the prior dentist at a different location who done my original root canal never removed all of the tissue or root. Either way, it kept it open to infection. She took her time and with patience removed it all and medicated it. I return in two weeks but am so relieved to know I am in good care. Its SUPER important when looking for a good dentist. I never had such an enjoyable (yes I know, strange to say while having a root canal) time and experience. I know I will feel discomfort for a little from the work but that is expected and it already feels better than it was. They are all so friendly and even the front desk were SO helpful. The two gentlemen worked and contacted my insurance to make sure all was right without me having to do any of that. I am so grateful I found them! I just moved to CT and was nervous and found the best endodontics care. I am sure that even the ones I didnt mean are phenomenal!! The assistant Tamara was a sweetheart as well! I highly recommend going to them, they will definitely take care of you and the problem! No need to fear the dentist anymore. Thank you to everyone there :)

Dr. Andrea Gentile-Fiori was amazing. Having just has a bad crown gone wrong experience and tremendous pain, I was a bit gun-shy. I expressed my concern, explained my issue and talked about the procedure with her and immediately felt at ease. Her caring nature, professional ability and experience, as well as her calming affect made the experience great. She assured me I would be pain free, and made sure my comfort was a priority. Keeping me informed of the process, assuring I remained comfortable and making sure I understood what was done, Dr. Andrea Gentile-Fiori exceeded expectations. I HIGHLY. HIGHLY recommend for anyone that needs an Endodontist!

I am so glad I met Dr. Chasen. Best dental experience I've ever had, where all my worries were wiped away and he explained everything to me so well that I felt like I finally understood the process for once. I had a previous root canal done by another dentist, that was such a traumatic experience for me and when I heard the words I had to get another root canal I thought "oh here we go again". But that wasn't the case. I walked in with a million worries and a million more questions. Dr. Chasen took the time to explain everything to me and answer all the questions I had. Before he began the procedure, I felt comfortable My smile was in his hands. He performed a front tooth root canal, I was worried about infection risks and the color of the tooth of course but I walked out of the office pain free and happier than ever. I mean who can say that about a root canal! Thank you once again!!!

Came in as a emergency patient this saturday and was in a lottt of pain. The dr. Took me in same day late night. Honestly I called over 50 dentists in CT and nobody was able to take me in same day. Best service I have ever gotten from a dentist, because of you guys I was able to enjoy my friends wedding the next day with no problem and not a swollen face! Can't thank you guys enough for this !

My trusted dentist referred me to this practice for a consult--she knew it was a 40 minute drive for me but assured me that this is the only endontic group she trusts, and that they are well worth the time. She was so right--Dr. Chasen was on time and friendly, took his time to assess via various tests to rule things in and out, then carefully and virally mapped out my options forward. I've never had a treater take such care to ensure my comfort and clarity. Cannot recommend highly enough. Also, fun and friendly staff.

WOW! I was so anxious about getting my first (hopefully last) root canal today. The experience was beyond my expectations! From the front office staff, Tammy, to my endodontist, Dr. Joel Chasen, I couldn't be happier! He explained everything and I let him know of my anxiety. I tell you, I never felt a thing! He guided me through the entire process. I will refer everyone to his office and if I ever need an endodontist again, he will be the one I call! Please try him, especially if you are fearful.
