Dr. Albert Truong is a lifelong University of the Pacific graduate, having earned his Bachelors degree in Biology, and later his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, the only 3-year accelerated program in the country.
Dr. Truongs practice philosophy focuses on a patient-centered approach through mutual understanding and respect. He supports all of his patients to take control of their oral health through education. To provide the best care, Dr. Truong crafts personalized treatment for every person to meet his or her needs and wants.
Dr. Truong has been active in the local community, participating in many dental community service events over the years to treat the underprivileged and homeless. He has served with Dr. Pongmanopap on a lengthy mission trip in Jamaica to treat the rural townsfolk and schoolchildren while help bringing the spotlight towards access to care.
After spending the last few years in Washington state, he is excited to be back home in California. Dr. Truong is happily married to Dr. Pongmanopap. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, photography, hiking, and cooking comfort food.
Dr. Melody Pongmanopap was born and raised in Southern California. She received her bachelors degree in Molecular Environmental Biology at UC Berkeley. She later attended dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where she met her husband, Dr. Truong, through their shared love of community service events.
Following graduation, they lived in beautiful Washington State for several years, practicing dentistry while enjoying Pacific Northwest experiences. After growing homesick, their hearts took them back to sunny California, where the proximity to their family, friends, and the great outdoors drew them to Woodland and Sacramento.
Dr. Pongmanopap has always had an interest in health and well-being, as those values drive her own lifestyle and personal goals. She enjoys providing patients the care they need to achieve oral and overall health, while also delivering confident smiles both beautiful and functional. The artistry of rebuilding a smile and building relationships with patients is why she finds dentistry so rewarding.
We are pleased to have Farnaz working for us and being part of our dental team. She graduated from the dental assisting program at Western Career College in Sacramento and has been in the dental field since 2003. Farnaz always strives to deliver positive dental experiences for all of our patients. Born and raised in Woodland, CA, Farnaz enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys. On her spare time away from the dental chair, she enjoys shopping, going to the gym, and traveling. We are blessed to have such a gentle, enthusiastic team member with great attention to detail to maintain high standards in our office.
Carissa graduated from the dental assisting program at Western Career College and has been in the dental field since 2006. Having started out as dental assistant, she worked her way to the front office shortly after. Her top priorities are to provide a welcoming and relaxed reception for patients. Patients have appreciated Carissas gentle demeanor and her thorough and efficient manner at the front desk. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and boating with her three children. We are thankful to have such a friendly team member to welcome all of our patients here.
April received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from University of the Pacific in 2009 and since then has worked all over the Bay Area, Sacramento, Yolo and Solano counties. She is frequently recommended for her gentle touch, down to earth attitude and experience helping patients who struggle with dental anxiety. Her favorite part of working in dentistry is getting to know her patients and hearing fun updates about them each visit. Aprils goal with every patient is to help them feel comfortable and empowered when making decisions about their oral health.
When shes not working or chasing after her toddler daughter, she loves writing fiction, reading and exploring state parks. We are delighted to have a warm, caring hygienist to provide for the needs of our patients.

Very disappointed with how my situation was handled. Called to cancel appointment since I had sore throat and didn't want to risk going in before getting tested. Was told next appointment was 3 months out and given the option to keep appointment since I didn't know if I would be able to get tested before my appointment time. Seemed to me they were ok with me coming in with active symptoms. Didn't hear back from physician about test dates so couldn't make it on time. Was told the no show fee applied although I had explained my situation. Will be looking for service elsewhere.

I have been to several Dentist office in my life and this has been by far the best one. I had a wisdom tooth extraction from another office and it was an extremely painful and unpleasant experience. At Advanced Dentistry of Woodland I had the rest of my wisdom teeth extractions through two appointments and it was a very pleasant experience(writing this right after my second appointment). The front is very helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable, and nice. Dr. Truong is the man! He dealt with my difficult situation with ease and efficiency, you don't feel anything at all when he goes to numb you (previous dentists felt like jab to the face), and overall a very pleasant and fun guy makes you feel comfortable and destressed throughout the whole procedure. If I could give this place 10 Stars I would!

Advanced Dentistry is the best dentist office in woodland hands down! Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable! My son has been going to see Dr Pong and Dr Albert for 3 years now and loves them! My husband use to be terrified of the dentist until he went and seen Dr Pong and Albert, now he loves to go! I recommend them to people of all ages even the little ones! The entire staff at advanced dentistry are awesome from the front desk to the dentists. Best dentist experience my entire family had! We will never go anywhere else!

Both dentists went above and beyond to help me get my teeth fixed. They always worked around my schedule and we're very accommodating. The office staff is really friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Advanced Dentistry.

This is not a very welcoming environment in our experience. Seems like they just want you in and out for your money. They're also very pushy about trying to get you in for another visit even after you politely say no. In our experience the doctor is heavy handed and makes a teeth cleaning a bit uncomfortable.

I have never had a wait time during my appointments and I have never felt rushed. The staff are knowledgeable and kind. All of my questions were answered throughout my appointments by both Dr. Pong and the hygienists, and every step of the procedures were explained to me as they were ongoing. I was nervous to see a dentist but they made me very comfortable. They also are very up to date with the technology they use. Dr. Pong even called me personally to check on how I was doing after a major procedure. I feel very valued and cared for by this office and will continue to see Dr. Pong and her staff. I would recommend this dental office to anyone. If you are looking for a dentist in the area that will take good care of you, you should definitely make an appointment to see Dr. Pong or Dr. Albert!

Both Dr. Pogmanopap and Dr. Truong were polite and courteous. The office was clean and the equipment was state of the art. I was able to come in and immediately have my tooth crowned. Best experience I've had with a dentist. Truly grateful.

Very professional and friendly staff. They have state of the art dental equipment, and my cleaning was very thorough and completed within an appropriate time frame. They also honored the price I had paid to the previous owners of the dental practice for an out of pocket treatment thus making it affordable for me to continue getting the same treatment.

Dr. Albert is so wonderful. I hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years and had an emergency tooth situation. Within one visit, I had a full exam and two incredibly necessary extractions felt with. I felt taken care of completely by the whole staff. I'm actually not afraid to visit the dentist anymore!

It is my pleasure to write a review for Dr. Melody Pongmanopop and Dr. Albert Truong. I had significant tooth pain over Memorial weekend and was visiting relatives. I called the office of Advanced Dentistry showing emergency appointments on Tuesday morning. Dr. Melody took my call and I explained my pain and advised her that I had an auto immune disease and was having dental work done in Bay Area before the Pandemic. I was able to come to their office that afternoon. I was also advised of their procedures with COVID-19 and their safety measures. That afternoon I was seen by Dr. Albert and had an exam and X-ray that showed my infection and needed a root canal. Fortunately I was able to have that procedure done the very next day. I did advise them that I was a retired senior with no dental insurance but would pay by credit card. Dr. Truong offered a discount which I graciously accepted. Dr. Truong also called to check on me the next day. I hope anyone reading my review will use the services of Advanced Dentistry.

I am very pleased with the kind and professional treatment at this facility. Their new wellness packages are great. Many retirees don't have dental insurance. This new opportunity will not only save me quite a bit of money but allow me to have more treatment. I highly recommend this dental office and the awesome dentists.

My husband has been going to Advanced Dentistry since they opened and he has been successfully treated for some serious, longstanding dental problems. Dr. Truong has been thorough in explaining treatment options and has helped us make good choices. He is very respectful of clients and communicates well. The office staff is efficient and courteous, and prices are competitive with other good dental offices in town.

I went in first thing yesterday morning and had my teeth cleaned and checked. The hygienist was ready so no waiting. She was thorough and did a good cleaning of my teeth. I also had my teeth X-rayed and mouth checked by the dentist. Both were friendly and professional. Great place to have your dental work done.
