Being a dentist is such a rewarding and enjoyable career. Our teeth and smile are such a big part of who we are and how we interact with the world. Having patients trust me with their oral health is something I take very seriously. The change we can make and the confidence we can build is amazing. Everyones definition of a happy and healthy smile is different, and I love being a part of each and every one.
Not only do I get to help create amazing smiles every day, I also get to meet and know so many amazing people in our community. Living in the community in which I practice makes it that much more special. Not many people can say they love going to work every day and genuinely mean it, but I am one of the fortunate few!
I come from a long line of dentist in the family. It all started with my grandpa who showed me what a great and rewarding profession dentistry could be. The more I learned about dentistry the more I knew it was the perfect fit for me. Being able to combine both science, technical skills, and art made it an ideal career, and getting to interact with so many great people every day between staff and patients is just an added bonus.
I attended California State University, Fullerton and majored in Biological Science with an emphasis in Cell and Developmental Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude. I continued my education at Oregon Health and Science University, School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon, where earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
Being a Southern California kid, the clouds and rain did not suit me, and I knew I needed to return to a warmer climate. To be nearer to family, my wife Liz and I decided to move to the Sacramento area to raise our family and begin my career. After years of practicing and setting down roots in the community, I decided to open his own practice here in Auburn.
I believe that continued learning and diving deep into new subjects and techniques directly benefits our patients. Integrating the newest techniques and therapies ensures that our patients are getting the best and most up-to-date treatment based on the most current research. Pushing myself as a clinician also ensures that we are providing the highest quality dental care at our office.
In addition to my memberships with the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and Sacramento District Dental Society, I am also involved in a monthly dental study club that focuses on integrated therapy to provide the highest level of dental care. As a CEREC mentor, I provide continuing education on the system and advanced techniques so other practices can improve their patient care.
While we use the most modern and advanced techniques in dentistry, we never forget the all-essential human touch. I love getting to know our patients on a personal level. This not only makes my day more enjoyable but it allows me to tailor their treatment and plans more specifically for them to ensure they are receiving the care that is best for them.
My wife Liz and I have three girls, Paige, Tinley, and Macie, as well as a golden retriever named Sunny. I love spending time with my family, whether were hiking or just hanging out at home. I also love snowboarding, traveling, and finding new places to explore on my mountain bike.

Montana has an adventurous spirit. She spends the winters hunting and summers fishing! She loves to travel to new places, usually planned on a whim. Her favorite saying is NO plans are the best plans.
Diana began her career as a dental assistant, gaining six years of experience before continuing her education and earning her Associates degree in Dental Hygiene. Joining our team in 2017, she sees patients on a regular basis for dental cleanings and education regarding good oral health habits at home. She enjoys building relationships with patients so they are comfortable and enjoy their visits to our office. Her smile is a wonderful encouragement for patients to feel capable of having great oral health.
Diana is a mom of two young boys. Her husband is a helicopter pilot and is always on the go. They love being together as a family and being outdoors, especially going on walks, Jeeping in the mountains, boating on the lake, and camping by the beach.
Jessica began her career in the dental field as a dental assistant in Maui, Hawaii, where she worked for ten years. In 2011, she enrolled in the dental hygiene program at Carrington College in Sacramento. Jessica realized her dream of helping people when she became a part of Dr. Kanias team in 2020. She loves that dental hygiene allows her to help patients with their oral health needs, and live healthier lives in general, by educating them on how to care for their teeth and smile.
Jessica grew up right here in Auburn. Most of her free time is spent with her husband, daughter, and yellow lab, Gunner. They enjoy soaking in sunshine as a family, exploring the foothills, and anything in the water.
Sarah attended San Francisco State University before persuing her dental interests. After college she obtained her RDA license and began work in the dental field. From 2015-2018 she worked in a cosmetic pratice specilaizing in Invisalign and Veneers. Sarah has been at Advanced Dentistry of Auburn since 2018 and has since obtained an extended functions license.
Earning her RDA in 2016 and joining our office in 2019, Brookke makes our patients smile with her kindness and genuine compassion. She assists Dr. Kania with procedures, takes diagnostic X-rays, and coordinates with the rest of the team to ensure the schedule runs smoothly. Most importantly, she makes patients feel welcome in our office and loves to see them smile!
Brookke loves spending time with her family going on camping trips, boating on the lake, and enjoying their company. One of her favorite things to do is dance, which she has been teaching for many years.
