Dr. Bailey grew up in a dental office and spend significant parts of her young life running around the operative chairs, talking to patients, assisting her mom with weekend emergencies, and watching countless beautiful smiles blossom. Dentistry was always in her background, but it wasnt until high school when she decided to seriously pursue the career. Her favorite subjects were always science and art, and when she looked at the field more closely, she realized that these talents were huge aspects of the career. Today, she still loves seeing how dentistry helps people not only with their smile, but their health as well being able to relieve pain is such a rewarding feeling to her.

Dr. Bailey attended Marquette School of Dentistry as a Pre-Dental Scholar, which is a direct admit program for undergrad students in the biomedical science department who can receive a spot in the dental school after the completion of three years. This was a great opportunity that allows her to save a year of school! From there, she attended the schools College of Dentistry in Milwaukee, WI and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Popp knew from a relatively young age that she wanted to work in healthcare but she didnt like her own family dentist! While in grade school, she worked for her grandmothers dental mail order company, which was eventually handed down to her mother and then to her. She also worked as a dental assistant throughout high school. She eventually decided that she liked the thought of having her own small business in the form of a dental office and doing a much better job than the doctor she used to visit. Her love of helping others is a perfect fit for the profession. Over time, she developed a passion for cosmetic care, restorative treatment, and eventually sleep dental medicine and sleep breathing disorders. She is proud to now offer dedicated screening for sleep apnea and effective snoring treatment.

After completing her undergraduate degree at Marquette University, Dr. Popp remained at Marquettes School of Dentistry to accomplish her Doctor of Dental Surgery. She also attended further advanced training at the Las Vegas Institute, graduating from their program with new specialty education in Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry, full mouth rehabilitation, and more. She is also extensively trained in dental sleep medicine. To this day, she takes many more continuing education courses every year than what is actually required. Dr. Popp has two grown children Natalie Bailey, who has now joined her as a dentist in the dental office, and George Bailey, who works in San Diego for Olympus Controls as an Applications Engineer. In her spare time, she still keeps herself very busy. Traveling is a big priority (shes been to 65 countries so far!), as well as entertaining, hiking, biking, kayaking, reading, gardening, welding, and painting. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Coronado and was the first female president as well. She is also active in the Coronado Roundtable, PEO, the Jandy Strong Foundation, and other philanthropic organizations. She is the proud founder of the Sue Project, which is a fundraising group that raises money for underprivileged women in need of sanitary products in Africa.

Our dentists do great work at Advanced Dentistry, but they couldnt do it without a team of caring, professional and expert hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff! Michelle first joined Dr. Popps dental office around 20 years ago, and she has nearly 25 years of experience in the dental field overall. She loves being part of such a strong team that strives for the same goals! Originally from Northern California, Michelle is married with two children. When she isnt busy at the dental office, you can usually find her camping or traveling out to the desert!

Marni joined Advanced Dentistry as a Registered Dental Assistant before learning how to take care of patients scheduling, financial, and insurance needs, and moving up to the front dental office. She has learned so much working with Dr. Popp & Dr. Bailey, especially about how a persons oral health can affect their overall health and daily life. She has always followed the doctors lead to keep learning and attends CE courses whenever she can.

Cindy recently joined our team at Advanced Dentistry and has 30 years experience as a hygienist. She is originally from Syracuse, NY, where she attended college for dental hygiene and 5 years later moved to San Diego for warmer weather. She is a member of Academy of Laser Dentistry and World Clinical Laser Institute. Cindy loves learning new things when she can with her career. She loves working at an established office that offers advanced technology and treatment while giving the patients the highest standard of care in a family environment.

Cindy is also a continuing education course provider and enjoys teaching other hygienists and dentists how to use lasers clinically all over the USA. When not working, she enjoys time with her teenagers and getting out in the sunshine. When she can, she loves taking long weekend trips to fun and new places!

Jeannette Sutphin is the Office Administrator for Advanced Dentistry. Jeannette brings over 30 years of experience in patient care, customer service, and insurance billing. She ensures that the office operations are running smoothly and provides support for our patients and their individual needs.

Originally from San Francisco, Jeannette and her family have lived in San Diego for 27 years. She and her husband enjoy taking road trips up the central coast. Her favorite coastal city is Morro Bay and her favorite way to unwind is through the practice of yoga.
