After nearly a decade of practicing in different dental settings Dr. Heffernan has decided to create Advanced Dentistry. The passion for this practice comes from Dr. Heffernans dedication to excellence, experience, and service to his community. Dr Heffernan and his amazing team invite you to experience the Advanced Dentistry difference.
He is married to fellow dentist, Dr. Brittany Heffernan, who practices pediatric dentistry in the Brunswick area. They love spending time together with their beautiful baby girl, Audrey, and dog, Henry, enjoying all the Lake Erie area has to offer. Dr. Heffernan also enjoys cooking (and welcomes recipe tips and tricks from patients!), and watching Ohio sports, both college and professional, in his spare time.

Great atmosphere. Kay was very welcoming and made me feel like part of the Advanved Dentistry family. Sarah did a great job too. She was knowledgeable, friendly and took care of my pearly whites. Dr. H., what a great place for people to go. Proud of you all. Keep up the good work. I would recommend it to family and friends. Can't wait to come back.

I'm a new patient ... but was greeted at the door like an old friend. It was like I was visiting a friend's house, not the dentist. Put me very much at ease. I received very gentle and thorough treatment of my broken tooth. No pain at all while being treated ... so you wimps out there give them a try. Since posting above comments? I have been back for cleaning. At former dentist, I would usually have gum irritation for a week. I told the tech that ... she assured me it would not happen this time. And she was right! ... i did not! The tech took the time to photograph my teeth and point out areas that will need attention. that was very helpful to planning my ongoing care. 10/22 i needed to reschedule two appointments due to a medical issue ... doc and staff took care of me quickly, the schedule change was taken in stride. And as usual, it was like I was visiting family ... we caught up on what was going on in each other's worlds. and my filling was replaced in 30 minutes.

All the staff was welcoming and friendly to make the experience enjoyable and stress free. The office was clean, comfortable and equipped with advanced technology. The hygienist and doctor were thorough and wonderful. Getting my teeth cleaned here get like a day at the spa.

What a great experience! I needed to be seen for discomfort in a tooth and they got me in right away. Christine, the hygienist, was so personable. She made me feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. Dr. Hefernan explained everything in great detail and I had no doubt I was in great hands. Even as I checked out, the great service didn't stop. McKenzie was so nice and helpful. It's important to have a dentist office I can trust and count on and is the reason Advanced Dentistry by John Hefernan is the place for me.

Best crown seat experience I have ever had. Most crown seats I've had have had to be adjusted sooooo much. Not this one. Plus Dr. Heffernan and his Efda, assistants and front desk staff are always super nice. It makes the experience more enjoyable for sure.

Office is very clean and modern! Everyone is very friendly! Going to the dentist can be stressful but they make you comfortable, so that it is a great experience. Highly recommend them!
