The team at Advanced Dental believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Advanced Dental work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater New Windsor area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Advanced Dental can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

Filling cavities is one of many services that a family dentist provides. Cavities are holes in teeth that occur due to tooth decay. However, if the decay is caught early, it may be possible to reverse it before a cavity forms. Understanding how and why tooth decay happens may make it easier to learn how

Dental cleaning is one of the least upsetting services a person might seek from the family dentist. Many people worry that any dental service may be painful. The reality is that only some dental procedures cause any discomfort. Thankfully, dental cleaning is among the least uncomfortable treatments available. Many people dislike going to the family dentist.

A family dentist specializes in treating patients of all ages with the same level of comfort and care.As a family dentist, we understand how difficult it can be to juggle multiple dental checkups for your kids, school, work and getting dinner on the table. Fortunately, we can schedule multiple checkups back to back for all

While many parents remind their children and ensure that they brush their teeth on a regular basis, children need professional dental care at a dentist. Along with specialized care toward children, there are also other steps parents can take to ensure their children have healthy teeth. As a family dentist, we suggest taking the following

about 8 years ago I went went in to have a cleaning. Cleaning service was great. Then the dentist suggested he could make my smile look better by restoring the old fillings. So I went ahead with it. He replaced three of my old fillings with new ones. ALL of the fillings that were supposed to have been replaced ruined my teeth. It seems like the dentist drilled so deep that I ended up getting root canals. After getting root canals one of molars broke. I ended up having it removed. The dentist recommended an implant. So I decided to go for the implant. $1800 for the implant. The implant they put in was too small. I had a gap between my molars. I went back to let them know this. But in the mean time my other tooth with the new filling also cracked and had to have it extracted. I went back to complaint about the implant being too small. I advised to get another implant. They said they would fix the problem after I got the send implant. It was at this point that I realized how they make their money. They ruined my teeth. 8 years later I have developed TMJ from the work that was done on the right side of my jaw. New dentist said implant is the wrong size and placement making my teeth uneven, which caused me to grind my teeth severely. Now I called to ask for the records of the implant and they want $25 to provide me with the records. Offices that charge for release of records do this to discourage patient from obtaining the records. Stay away from this place!

I absolutely LOVED my experience here!! They were so gentle and careful with my sensitive teeth; well I had dental hygienist, Nicole, who was amazing!! And the dentist, Dr. Reiss, was wonderful too! And I haven't been to a dentist in about 7 years because I'm wary of dentists from past experiences but this place took such great care of me and didn't judge me or made me feel bad for not having a check up in years. I feel so happy and confident and with a clean smile!!

I recently had a bad experience with this office. The lead, by the name of Tina, noticed how upset I was and offered to hear my complaint. She was very personable, compassionate, attentative, and understanding to my needs. She took my negative experience and turned it into a very positive experience. I left the office feeling much better and was quite happy about the outcome. She is an extremely great asset to the company and wish that others would follow in her example of showing what great customer service is all about.

They currently have a terrible admin staff. The office manager Toni is horrible since she had the admin staff changed in the last few years. kudos to Tasha who is one of the office managers that tries to work with the patients. I have been a patient since the start and have to find another dentist office. They do not give you proper information then try and charge you when they mess up with the insurance company. They use out of network dentist when you request in network dentist. They threaten you with collections when they know they submitted paperwork incorrectly. Toni is rude and her billing is always incorrect. All other ONE STAR reviews say basically the same thing. Time for Dr. Z TO PUT SOMEONE ELSE IN CHARGE. DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST OFFICE

I am disgusted by the new policies. They wanted prepayment of 50% for my next appointment!! No I'm not paying for a service before you do it. And to boot they called me the night before and asked me to move my appointment because they couldn't fulfill the appointment I had made months in advance. Just terrible, this business is just trying to make money it doesn't care about you.

This place was HORRIBLE from beginning to end. I scheduled a root canal here and had to reschedule the appointment, they tried charging me $200 to reschedule! They claimed this was communicated at the time I signed off on the procedure which is was not, just a way for them to try to get more money from me. From there I was told I was going to need a crown lengthening AFTER my root canal was already complete, and was told " sorry we're booked until October you're going to need to find a periodontist to do this before we can do your crown." NO help finding periodontists and they did not even think to check if they had appointments prior to allowing me to go through with the root canal!! They also charged me $300 for a temp crown that fell off within 5 days!! I went to get a second opinion to see if I really needed a crown lengthening or not. Turns out I didn't need one at all and my new dentist was able to FIX all of the issues with how they shaped my tooth and prepare a proper crown! On top of all of that the staff at the front desk are all extremely immature and rude and spend more time gossiping with each other than they do caring for the patients! DO NOT go here!! It's a money scam and they will not treat you correctly!!
