Dr. Scherrer is a wonderful dentist. If for some reason he is not happy with something he will go the extra mile. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his work and its reassuring to know that after dealing with some other area dentists. The staff is nice and the place is very clean and comfortable.
A 1988 graduate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Scherrer has been a part of the New Jersey tradition for advanced dental care since 1991. He opened his first dental office in North Bergen, practicing there for 16 years, before transferring to our current location in Ridgewood in 2005. Over the years, Dr. Scherrer has honed his skills while never losing sight of his goal to provide comfortable, friendly dental care.
Continuing education has remained a top priority for Dr. Scherrer, who considers himself a lifelong learner. His recent focus has been on cosmetic reconstruction, including crown and bridge, dental implant restorations, and porcelain veneers, although he also enjoys endodontics (root canals). In 2010, Dr. Scherrer won the title of Best of the Quest for the Best, sponsored by Aquasil for Bridge Impressions, for the precision and quality of his bridge impressions. Just recently, Dr. Scherrer was voted Top Dentist in Bergen County and is featured in 201 Magazines June Health Issue.

Finally found a dentist office I can trust. Great service, professional, honest, and caring. Even though this office is not in my neighborhood, it's worth the drive. Dr. Scherrer took his time to patiently explain the procedures and reasoning behind it. Other dentists in the past recommended unnecessary procedures to make profit, but Dr. Scherrer does not do that. It's clear that he cares about his patients. Very professional and ethical! Also, Mary conducted my dental cleaning. She was gentle throughout the entire time and made sure that I was not feeling any pain throughout the process. She even made sure that I was able to watch the TV during the cleaning. She explained what she was doing throughout the cleaning. She took her time to clean every corner and gap in my teeth. The admin staff was extremely kind and professional. They always followed up with me and even called me back when my desired appointment times became available. They will contact you enough amount of times so you won't forget your appointment time. They will accommodate to your needs as much as possible. It was a pleasure interacting with them.

I've been going to Advanced Dental Care for two and a half years and it is an efficient, courteous dental office. The staff from the front desk to the dentists are nothing but excellent in my opinion. I would gladly recommend them to anyone! Update 10/20/22: I've been going here for six years, and this dental office is tremendous and efficient too! I think Dr. Scherrer is one of the best dentist out there and he makes you feel comfortable and puts your mind at ease. I still would recommend this place to anyone!

Do not trust this practice. I had a deep cleaning done yesterday. I have been in inexplicable pain since the procedure. I can barely speak. Had to cancel all of my appointments today and am left in fear that I possibly have a serious infection with no guidance from the practice. I trusted this dentist. I called the office this morning and was told it was just soreness. They wouldn't prescribes an antibiotic. I was completely treated as if the pain that I have is not valid. It's an awful experience to be in this much pain but I am writing this review to inform people because it's far worse to be treated as if your experience isn't real when you trust a medical professional.

Advanced Dental Care of Rodgewood is a great place to go take care of your dental needs. The team was very professional examining and providing with solutions by priority. Dr. Scherrer did a great job, I felt that I was in good hands. All of the staff here were very gentle and kind to me. They explained very well what was going on. Thank you, Dr. Scherrer!

Very helpful and friendly staff and most importantly the dentist was honest and straight forward. I have been to other dentists that exaggerated my needs, so it was a relief to find a dentist with integrity.

The ladies at the front desk are always super accommodating and Dr. Scherrer literally makes me laugh during all my visits! No matter how scary or simple my visits are, I'm known to get panic attacks just thinking about the dentist (from past experiences not at this place!) and everyone here makes me feel super at ease during every visit!

Great looking office but hygienist and assistants seem to lack the knowledge to do the job and unprofessional music videos being played and they almost did work on the wrong tooth. This office and it's Doctors were great about 2 years ago and now I don't know what's happening. A great female dentist I saw twice left for another job. smh. I lost confidence in this place

Not only is their facility clean and inviting, but the level of care and attention the staff and Drs give you is incredible! They take the time to make sure I feel comfortable. Both procedures I had done where painless (very important for me as I have a huge fear of going to the dentist). Hands down the best experience!!

As per my experience at advanced dental care as a patient it was amazing, the staff and doctors were all super friendly. I would definitely recommend to any friends and family members. Once I got to the office I didn't even have to wait, they got me straight in the room. The rooms are so clean and spotless. Dr. Scherrer is so nice and welcoming to his practice. If you need any dental work such as cleanings, crowns or even anything oral surgery related deff come to this office you wouldn't regret it !!!
