My uncle was a dentist, and simply watching him work is what initially sparked my interest in the profession. I was very inspired by how he interacted with his patients and how truly close he felt with them. I also like working with my hands and have a passion for both art and science, so you could say that dentistry is a perfect fit for me! Its very fulfilling to use my skills every day to help people improve their health and appearance in a meaningful way.
I obtained my DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree from the University of Cologne School of Dentistry in Germany, and this experience showed me just how important having the right technology is to provide the highest quality of care. This is why I only use state-of-the-art instruments and equipment in my practice.
While many doctors would simply start practicing at this point, I wanted to be completely confident in how I could apply my skills in the real world, and this is what led me to pursue prosthodontics. A few years later, I received my Certificate of Advanced Education in Prosthodontics from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California.
Like any field of medicine, there are specialties, and prosthodontics is one within the field of dentistry. In short, prosthodontists are specially trained in the restoration and replacement of damaged and missing teeth, so my expertise encompasses dental implants, implant reconstruction, dentures, and esthetic dentistry.
In order to become a prosthodontist, I had to complete years of intense additional training. The program I went through at USC consisted of 3 years of full-time training for 15 hours a day. Thats quite a bit on top of regular dental school! Prosthodontists are trained to look at dental matters very differently than a general dentist. In the dental profession, prosthodontists are seen as the quarterback of the team. They plan the care and are responsible for delivering results that are beautiful, functional, and long-lasting.
I am originally from northern Iran and have been married to my wife Shadi for more than 17 years. She is a Registered Nurse in the CV ICU at Baylor Scott & White, which is perfect because she is very caring, loving, and concerned about the wellbeing of others. We have two smart and beautiful children, Niema and Ryan. Our family is now based in Plano. I love spending quality time with my family and participate in my childrens activities. In my rare free moments, I also enjoy classical music, soccer, and Formula 1 racing.
Mayra has been working in the dental field for over two full decades so far! She studied at Richland Community College and has advanced training in CareCredit, HR management, and CPR. Today, she feels very proud to be part of such a caring, family-owned dental practice that promotes feelings of belonging among its team and patients.

Dr Kar and his entire staff are so friendly and make your entire visit Pleasant. If I was not moving next year I would switch my dentist, even if it is a 30 min drive.

Most caring, honest, quality dentist you will find. Office is beautiful and the staff are so kind. I f you need a good cosmetic dentist (and for all things dental), look no further than Dr. Kar at Advanced Dental Care of Allen. I had a traumatic accident and fractured my front teeth while abroad late last year. Several procedures/treatments later and permanent crowns from my previous dentist, I was not happy with the way my crowns looked. They looked nothing like my real teeth, shape nor size. I have never worn braces and loved my teeth and the accident alone was traumatic enough, but more so the aftermath. I googled and read reviews to see who could provide me with more aesthetically pleasing crowns and decided on Dr. Kar. He explained their process which was significantly better than my previous dentist. He did what's called a wax up so I could actually see the 3D digital images of what they would look like in my mouth. I could make however many changes I wanted to before the permanent crowns were made. Will I ever love these crowns more than my previous teeth, no, but are they the closest thing to looking like what my teeth used to, yes. No one can even tell my front teeth are crowns, they look so natural. I'm so thankful for Dr. Kar- he is knowledgable, experienced, takes his time with each patient, is caring and understanding. His office staff are lovely. The office is clean and bright. There are tv's in each dental cove to provide distraction. With so many dental practices to choose from, it can be hard to know who is honest and provides quality dental services. You will find that with Dr. Kar at Advanced Dental Care of Allen.

Me and my wife have been coming here for our dental jobs about 2 years. Dr. Kar is really amazing, very professional, and best dentist we've ever had. He always care about his patients. his team is friendly and skilled. Their office is always clean and hygiene. Highly recommended!

I am very pleased with Dr. Kar and his staff. While he is an excellent dentist/professional, very meticulous, gentle, honest and caring. His staff is very friendly, kind and professional as well. Dr. Kar provided me with treatment options and explained each one. Knowing more about my treatment options made me feel at ease.

I'm embarrassed to admit it had been a VERY long time since I last saw the dentist. My mouth was a HOT MESS!! I walked in nervous, skeptical, and a little insecure about my oral situation. The pain was absolutely unbearable and I finally had to courage to go in. I randomly selected Advanced Dental and WOW what a WIN. The entire staff made me feel comfortable, secure and at ease. I've since returned several times for treatment and the appointments always start on time, clear communication with scheduling and the text reminders are AWESOME. Mayra and Mercedes are very knowledgeable passionate about the patient(s) and their jobs. Dr. Kar is equally amazing; personable, funny, gentle and punctual! They all work really well together. I'm so happy I have found my new dental family. I highly recommend this place and the art/decor is great! :)

Dr. Kar is the best dentist ever!! When you go to his office, the whole staff makes you feel like family. It's like hitting the lottery! Dr. Kar is very skilled, affordable and concerned for his patients above all. He explains everything and there are no surprises and no pain. He has the latest equipment and is up to date on new techniques. It has removed so much of my anxiety to know I have a dentist I can count on. I highly recommend Dr. Kar and would give more than 5 stars if I could.

I cannot begin to tell you how satisfied I am with my experience with this practice. Dr. Karr and his staff are amazing. I had a complete cosmetic restoration done and the results were phenomenal. I now have the best smile I have had my entire life. Dr. Karr is extremely meticulous and detailed. Always making sure everything is done correctly and that I was completely satisfied with the progress and results. His assistant Mercedes is wonderful. Very professional, knowledgeable and a joy to work with. I cannot forget Myra at the front desk. Again just such a positive and wonderful person to work with. I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone.

I was never comfortable with the three dentists we tried since moving to Allen. I broke a front tooth off and went to Dr Kar based on glowing reviews. The reviews were not wrong. After consultation I decided to get more extensive work done. It all turned out great! Dr Kar is very gentle and always concerned about your comfort as is Ashley his assistant. He is a meticulous dentist. I highly recommend Advanced Dental Care!

Dr Kar and his staff are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. I had a combination of teeth needing post-root canal treatment as well as sensitive teeth which can be a challenge while doing the procedure. Dr Kar was sensitive to my situation and did a fantastic job!!! I strongly suggest Dr Kar and Advanced Dental to anyone looking for a great dentist who genuinely cares about his patients!
