Dr. Brian Raskin is the founder of Advanced DDS, and has been practicing and innovating in the field since 1984.He earned his BS at Adelphi University, and his Dental Degree New York University's College of Dentistry. His post-graduate residencies at both Booth Memorial Medical Centerin Queens and Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx allowed Dr. Raskin to further develop his approach to dentistry. Over the years, Dr. Raskin has invested heavily in integrating new technology for his practice to ensure patients receive top-of-the-line treatments using cutting-edge methods. Dr. Raskin specializes in cosmetic, periodontal, surgical, implant, and general dental care.
Dr. Pat D 'Orlando has over 15 years experience practicing General Dentistry, and is well-versed in IV Sedation Dentistry and the expert placement of Dental Implants. 'Dr. D,' as his patients affectionately call him, received his BS at Long Island University 's CW Post, and graduated from Stony Brook University 's School of Dental Medicine. After graduating, Dr. D completed his residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY, where he fine-tuned his methods to provide patients with a comfortable, anxiety-free experience while in the dental chair. Dr. D specializes in General Dentistry and Implant placement.
Dr. Michelle Steblai, a lifelong Long Islander, has been in private dental practice for over a decade. After graduating from Stony Brook University's School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Steblai completed her residency at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY. Dr. Steblai is always keeping up on the latest treatment methodologies thanks to a rigorous commitment to continuing education, and focuses on the provision of top-quality dental care.
Dr. Dilmarys Pea earned her BS at SUNY Binghamton, and studied dentistry at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She specializes all forms of General Dentistry, as well as in easing the fears of patients who experience anxiety while sitting in the dentist's chair,
Dr. Jose Rivero, born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, is a Board Certified Dentist Anesthesiologist. Dr. Rivero earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in Venezuela, and practiced for several years. After coming to the U.S., Dr. Rivero studied at the University of Connecticut, where he completed two years of postdoctoral training. He later accepted a position in the Dental Anesthesiology program at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, as well as an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Rivero became Board Certified by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He keeps an active private practice providing ambulatory anesthesia and is affiliated with Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he holds a teaching position. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Dr. Sybil Padavathil completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and immediately moved to the Northeast to start her dental education. She graduated from Boston University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and relocated to New York to begin her general dentistry career. After completing her residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY Dr. Sybil decided that her passion was working with children. She then completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She believes assessing each child's dental treatment based on their specific needs and making their dental experience as easy and fun as possible. Dr. Sybil is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Shylon Mathew is a New York native who was born and raised in Queens, NY. Knowing from a young age she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, she found her calling in dentistry and headed upstate to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree with thesis honors from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
She then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at New York Medical College in Westchester, New York. She continued her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York, where she served as chief resident. During her residency, she received extensive training in behavior management and treating children, adolescents, and patients with special needs as well as all forms of sedation.
Dr. Mathew strives to make every childs visit a positive experience while building healthy habits and providing high quality dental treatment. She tailors each dental visit to each child and familys unique needs, and her gentle demeanor and transparency will instantly make you and your child feel at home.

I have been seeing Dr. Raskin since 2014. You won't find a more caring, professional and devoted dentist. Dr. Raskin is both compassionate and a brilliant dentist who has excellent patient skills. He is attentive and thoughtful while thoroughly explaining conditions & treatment plans. He was sensitive to my feelings and took his time to explain every step of my treatment. He has truly put my mind at ease and all of my treatments were PAINLESS!! (And I've had a lot of work done) I would highly recommend this dentist along with his staff, especially Melissa at the front desk and all the hygienists. Thank you Advanced DDS.

I have been using Advanced DDS (Dr. Raskin) for over 33 years.! His office is state of the art, his staff is knowledgeable, friendly and well trained to answer all your questions. His dental technicians are amazing. Gentle, re assuring, and very thorough. Dr. Raskin by far is the best in his field and I highly recommend his practice...it's not really a "practice" as he gets it right and has it perfected...

I SHOULD'VE LISTENED TO THE HORRIBLE REVIEWS BEFORE WASTING MY TIME HERE!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!! ...I made an emergency appt at Advance DDS earlier this wk after I got a bad infection & needed a root canal. I only went here because they advertised that they did IV sedation & i was petrified of being awake for this root canal due to the pain I was in. I was already burned from another dentist, (Dr. Rory Stutman in Massapequa), so I called here & got the info 1st before going in. Secretary here told me IV sedation was $350 & that they took my insurance. I was totally fine w/the $350 out of pocket for the sedation & actually thrilled. Well....let me TELL YOU....I was in for a TOTALLY different experience when I walked in. 1st of all, when you walk in this place you feel like you're on vacation w/their whole set up they've got going on... I had 3 different "concierge" girls show me their "beverage center", offer me drinks while I wait, give me "tours of the office" & try to upsell me different things. I told them very politely several times, "I don't have a million dollars to spend here & I just want a root canal & IV sedation." They walked me into my "private suite" where I had a HUGE gift bag and a "welcome pack" waiting for me on a private couch & 2 different girls told me this was my "New patient welcome gift." Inside of it was a mouthwash, tooth paste & a huge, velour blanket with "Advance DDS" on it. I thanked them & couldn't believe the special treatment, but also started getting a little nervous that they expected more $ from me. Long story short, after meeting with Dr. Tony Thomas and going over my root canal and IV sedation, I was walked back to the counter to book my appt. Well, the secretary there, "Maria Andramuno", then prints me up a bill for $3,305!!! I reminded her that I have insurance that they take and she says "yes, but we need this from you." I asked her to clarify again and she insisted that I have to pay them $3,305!!! I WAS TOTALLY IN SHOCK!! Maria was also rude and n insisted that this was fair like I was crazy!! UNLESS YOU HAVE TONS OF MONEY TO BLOW FOR NO REASON, GO ELSEWHERE!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE LIKE I DID!!! ....By the way, I then found Dr. Gottlieb in Levittown and he did an AMAZING job on my root canal this week - NO pain and I didn't have to pay even $1 there!! He took my insurance in full and didn't BS me like Advance DDS did!!

"The Jury's still out!!" My experience was exactly the same as Julie Napolitano's except that I provided my insurance card and information 3 days prior to appointment. Yes, Advanced DDS looks like a spa for your teeth which I don't mind because I insist on taking as good care of my teeth that I do for my eyes, hair, skin & nails. However, I was annoyed and put off by the finance clerks toward the end of my tour. She insisted that my insurance was out of network, she didn't know if my insurance covered 100% of the service and couldn't get the cost per service from my insurance company. Well, I sat in front of her and called my insurance company myself and they were happy to provide the information but also suggested that Advanced DDS do a submit a pre-determination so I would know exactly how much I would be responsible for. They promptly rescheduled my appointment for a routine exam with Xrays for a different day. The experience left me with a bad taste. It appears that for all the modern spa like amenities Advanced DDS is more interested in the bottom line $$.
