Admired Smiles Dental Center came to be in 2006 at the hand of Dr. Hegazi, but the practice itself has served the community and families of Hingham for over 50 years. We have established a well-known, trusted, and family-friendly reputation in the community that makes our practice one of the most recommended dental establishments in the area. From the first dentist that opened the doors, to the present day practice of Dr. Hegazi, we foster long-lasting, valuable relationships with generations of family members that were seen by our practice decades ago.
We aim to make our dental care as seamless, comfortable, and thorough as possible. One way were able to do this is by using the latest technology in our field, including our intraoral camera and all-digital X-ray imaging system. These gadgets make our diagnoses and treatments more precise as well as provide us with great resources to help educate our patients about their oral health.
Dr. Hegazi is a trusted dentist in the Hingham area due to his approach to providing oral healthcare. When he was in high school, Dr. Hegazis father suggested that he might be interested in becoming a dentist one day, and the mention stuck with him. He knew he liked working with his hands and helping others, so it seemed like a good fit and the rest is history. Today, he couldnt imagine having any other job!
Dr. Hegazi graduated from Adelphi University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to Tufts University, where he completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2001. While attending Tufts, he was granted the Two-Year Health Professions Scholarship with the United States Air Force and became a Dental Officer/Captain for the U.S. Air Force after graduation, serving at Andrews Air Force Base until 2004. During his three years in the Air Force, he attended several rotations and residencies involving oral surgery, implantology, sedation dentistry, and infection control. These experiences provided him with vital training that still sets him apart from other colleagues today!
Dr. Hegazi and his wife Kristin have nine children seven boys and two girls who range from a baby to a young adult. When he isnt busy caring for teeth, his top priority is spending quality time with family and working on various projects with the kids around their home. Other hobbies include playing basketball, woodworking, welding, and helping out in the local community where needed.
Jane is a Hingham native who has many relatives in the dental field. She has extensive experience in hygiene (40+ years) and is always happy and willing to help out. Her favorite part about working at Admired Smiles is being on an excellent team that allows her to be her very best every single day. She is a graduate of the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene and has a bachelors degree in allied health.
Louise has been in the dental field for more than 50 years, so she has basically seen and done it all! For our patients, this means shes more than ready to answer any questions they might have. Louise started her career as a dental assistant before moving to the front desk. She maintains strong relationships with our patients and uses her experience to help people better understand their treatment plans and procedures. Louise completed her dental training at Tufts University and is currently certified in conscious sedation.
Nearly half of adults over the age of 30 have some form of gum disease. In fact, you could even have it right now and not realize it! The disease often develops silently during the early stages, and its only once it reaches its most serious form periodontitis that youll start noticing the most severe symptoms, which could easily include tooth loss. Visiting Dr. Hegazi for regular checkups will make it more likely that gum disease will be caught earlier so that we can treat it long before permanent damage is done.
You can consider scaling and root planing to be a special kind of dental cleaning one that allows us to hone in on the gum line and the tooth roots, where the bacteria that cause gum disease accumulate. After removing plaque and tartar from the space between the teeth and gums, well smooth out the roots of the teeth. A smooth surface will make it easier for gums to reattach to the roots, and it will make it harder for plaque to build up in that area again.
