I choose to participate in continuing education courses often so that my practice is on the cutting edge of technology, and provides patients with optimal results and a great orthodontic experience. I regularly attend courses through the Indiana Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists, in addition to the Select Study Club, an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club.

Originally from western Kentucky, I currently reside in Jasper with my wife Ginger. We have three children Amanda, Tyler, and Evan and two furry children, Sparky the English Setter and Kenlee the Shih Tzu. I love spending time with my family; they are the most important thing in the world to me. When I have time, I enjoy exercising, gardening, boating, and hunting.

As the office manager, I supervise our staff, coordinate patient insurance benefits, make financial arrangements with patients, and process insurance claims. I love having the opportunity to help each patient gain confidence as their smile changes. It is also rewarding to assist families in making financial arrangements, thereby making orthodontics an option for their child. I married my high school sweetheart, Matthew, and we have twin children,Lexiand Eli. We also have Max, the chocolate lab. When I am not helping my patients at work, I enjoy exercising, interior decorating, remodeling our home, and spending time with my family and friends outdoors.

First and foremost, I am dedicated to making sure my patients are comfortable and happy. My favorite part of my job is not only the patients but their families, too. In orthodontics, we see patients about once a month, so they become like family to me! At home, I love spending time with my beautiful curly-haired daughterAryssa, along with my fianc Aaron. We have a spoiled Boxer named Meeka that we enjoy taking for walks and playing with in the yard as a family.

For over 30 years, Ive worked as an assistant, and I joined Dr. Adkins in 2013. I assist him with placing the braces on teeth, adjustments, clinical charting, sterilizing instruments, patient education, stocking inventory, patient records, and patient care and comfort with and during procedures. I enjoy watching our patients grow and gain confidence as we change their smile. At home, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love boating and we have a houseboat onPatokaLake on which we spend a lot of time.

I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana and recently joined Dr. Adkinss practice. I love being able to experience the excitement and confidence the patients have when getting their braces off and seeing their new smile. The feeling that you have helped a patient along through their journey through braces is very rewarding! I currently live at home in Vincennes with my parents and my daughter, Peyton. I enjoy any outdoor activity, and love spending time with my daughter and family.

I assist Dr. Adkins with various procedures, including patient charting, sterilizing instruments, taking patient records, delivering retainers, debanding patients, and patient adjustments. I joined the team in 2012, right after graduating from Vincennes University-Jasper campus with a degree in dental assisting. I love knowing that every treatment we do in our office is helping a patient progress to a healthy, beautiful smile. At home, I have a daughter named Jenna, and two dogs. I enjoy helping my boyfriend on his farm and spending time with my family.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets, and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors, including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
