Dr. Lukens graduated cum laude from the University of MissouriKansas City School of Dentistry in 2008. He earned a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in 2009. Dr. Lukens then returned to his hometown of Wichita and began practicing in multiple locations including the community health centers of GraceMed Clinic and Health Ministries Clinic.He became practice-owner at his current location in January 2013.In addition to his private practice, Dr. Lukens also serves as the Chief dental officer for the Medical Group of the 184th Intelligence Wing, Kansas Air National Guard, McConnell AFB in Wichita.

Involvement in organized dentistry is a priority for Dr. Lukens.He is currently serving as President of the Wichita District Dental Society for their 2018-2019 term.He is also currently a delegate for the Kansas Dental Association, and has served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Kansas Academy of General Dentistry since 2014.

Dr. Lukens is actively involved with the Wichita-Sedgwick County Oral Health Coalition and as a provider for the Dental Lifeline Network, helping to treat the underserved patients in the Wichita community.Dr. Lukens is committed to staying up to date on current treatment modalities in dentistry by regularly attending continuing education seminars. In June of 2018, he was awarded the distinction of Mastership with the Academy of General Dentistry at their annual meeting in New Orleans, LA.In his free time he enjoys hitting the links, fitness, trying new grilling recipes, and following current events.He is truly dedicated to providing optimum oral healthcare in an environment of mutual trust and respect for his patients.Member organizations include the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Kansas Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, and Wichita District Dental Society.

Dr. Lukens worked with the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the Wichita State University School of Nursing in 2017 to perform an Observational Study, 'Impact of Oral Health and Oral Hygiene Practices on Quality of Life Among Low-Income Seniors.' Our results were published in March 2018. The future direction for this work is to perform a replicate study targeting low-income seniors living independently or with family members in both metropolitan and rural areas, with an emphasis on achieving greater racial/ethnic diversity.

Mari began her career at Lukens Family Dental in 2002. She started as a dental assistant and has been in her current position of office manager since 2014. Mari prides herself on her attention to detail with patients' insurance benefits and questions. Patients appreciate Maris familiar face and personal touch she brings to our practice. She is happily married with two children. When not in the office she enjoys camping and boating at local lakes with friends and family.

Amanda has been a dental hygienist for 12 years, graduating from Wichita State University in 2006 with an Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene with honors. She is active in The Kansas Dental Hygienist Association and a BLS certified provider. Amanda has been certified in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration since 2005. She joined our practice in 2009 and enjoys establishing lasting relationships with her patients and their families. In her free time, Amanda stays busy with her two young daughters.

Aracely graduated from Heritage College in 2014 as a Registered Dental Assistant. She did her externship here at Lukens Family Dental and immediately knew it was a great fit. Aracelys infectious laugh can be heard through the halls and she eases patients' dental anxiety. She is bi-lingual and fluent in both English and Spanish. Aracely has been married to Jose Salcido for 21 years and they have two sons together. They spend their free time watching their youngest son play football and spending time with family.

Ingrid joined our team in May 2017 after completing her dental hygiene education with honors at Flint Hills Technical College. She has prior experience in the dental field working for her host familys dental office in Arkansas City while finishing college. Ingrid enjoys being able to help our patients maintain excellent dental health! She is also bi-lingual and speaks English and Spanish. In her free time, Ingrid enjoys cooking, going to the movie theater and spending time with her two kittens.

Tasha is the newest member of our team! She finished high school at Cheney High School in 2014 and is currently applying to the Dental Hygiene Program at Wichita State University. When not in the office, Tasha enjoys her home and her family. And coffee.
