Dr. Adam L. Bear is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology* and an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Bear earned a Bachelor's of Science from the State University of New York College at Buffalo in 2002. After working for a couple of years for the United States Tennis Association, Dr. Bear returned to school to pursue his passion in dentistry. Dr. Bear received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with Distinction in Research from the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. During his time at Stony Brook University, Dr. Bear was the recipient of several awards, including: The American Academy of Periodontology Dental Student Award, Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Student in Implant Dentistry Award, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Sullivan-Schein Dental Predoctoral Achievement Award, The Quintessence Publishing Award for Research Achievement, Dr. Richard J. Oringer Award, and Dr. Charles and Maria Ryan Scholarship for Future Dental Academicians.
He has had extensive experience in periodontal and implant surgery, including treatment of peri-implant defects. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Bear has lectured on the topic of Peri-Implantitis at the American Academy of Osseointegration annual meeting and the Suffolk County Dental Society general membership meeting.

It was my first visit and i was very nervous. Dr. Bear was very pleasant and explained everything to me. I was given a plan of treatment and expected cost. I would recommend this practice to my family and friends.

Dr. Bear is an amazing dentist and quite a professional. His service is impeccable and always top notch. I've been going to Dr Bear for a few years, have had many procedures done by him and always happy with the results. An added benefit to the great results, his after care and follow up is great and somehow my pain has been minimal. Highly recommended!

Dr. Bear is an amazing and compassionate doctor. He listened and understood my fears which made my whole experience so much better. I trust him completely in the planning of my dental care. The staff is unbelievable, they make you feel so welcome and at ease. Would never go to anyone else.

Dr Bear and his staff care about his patients. The words Genuine and Kind fit perfectly. Dr Bear called me the evening after my surgery just to check on me. He then told me to call him directly on his cell if I encountered any post-op difficulties. I cannot recommend him more!! If you need a Periodontist - this is your guy!!

Great periodontist! Very clean. I didn't not wait long to be seen. The entire staff was friendly and professional. Dr Bear let me know all my options for gum grafting and went over my 3D cone beam xray with me.

I went to Dr. Bear after being diagnosed with thrush elsewhere. I have been bounced around from doctor to doctor with no relief. I still have symptoms but, Dr. Bear and his office have the most incredible bedside manner. This was an incredibly stressful situation for me but I was met with kindness and comfort on the phone, when I was given an emergency next-day appointment, and while in the chair. I will likely need to be referred to a specialist. While frustrating for me, I was so grateful to Dr. Bear, and especially his hygienist Jennifer, for their comforting kindness.

Dr Bear was gentle and informative. Great bedside manner from both him, the techs and even the front desk. Everyone was so warm and comforting. I can't say enough good words for this practice. Dr Bear called on a Sunday (his day off) just to check on me since my procedure was on a Saturday. I really cannot say enough good things about this practice. I'm so impressed and would recommend this office to anyone, but especially someone with high anxiety about procedures and dental work like me. Very impressed.

I have been a patient of Dr. bears for several years. I normally schedule my appointments with Elaine. Elaine is patient extremely thorough and is an asset to dr. bears team. We also manage to have a few laughs. Makes my cleaning appointment painless and worry free! Thank you Elaine for always doing a great job!

Very clean and covid friendly (if you care about that sort of thing). Staff and hygienist are very friendly, and make you feel comfortable. They are very diligent about reminding you of your appointment with auto-texts and phone calls to confirm. .
