I like Dr. Porter and his staff and I have had no problems here. Dr. Porter explains things to me which helps a lot.

Great dentist. If you can't find it, the office is in the business plaza across the street from Comfort Inn. The office is in the back of the plaza and the sign on the outside just says "Dentist." If you get lost, just call Joann at the front desk. She is always more than willing to help. These two have been a team for decades and the office has a real 'mom and pop' atmosphere to it. For an anxious-ridden patient like me, this helps put me at ease. (The nitrous oxide helped a bit too. By the way. do not be afraid to ask for it if it helps relax you during dental procedures.)

I had 3 crown done with Dr. P in the last year. During COVID he has taken all the necessary precautions to prevent disease transmission and I have felt safe in his office on every visit. Old-fashioned attitude, but obviously up to date in his dental knowledge, this is the dentist to see in Fountain Hills.

I'm afraid my experience was quite painful and met defensive attitudes and little or no desire to rectify the situation.

I have been a patient of Dr. Porter's for 10+ years. Before finding Dr. Porter, I had a series of horrendous, terrifying experiences with dentists around the valley. As a result, I developed severe dental anxiety. When I could not avoid dental work any longer, my mother took me to Dr. Porter. His lighthearted, matter of fact, demeanor helped put me at ease. He made sure I was as numb as possible and offered nitrous oxide when I looked as though I would bolt. Overall, this experience helped get me past my dental anxiety and now I refuse to see another dentist. I have read some reviews about people saying he prescribes pain pills too much. I know, for a fact, that any patient who calls and speaks with the staff to notify them of a pain pill problem, will not be offered pain pills. In fact, the staff will make a note in your file that you do not want to be offered any pain medication. Ibuprofen will be prescribed instead. For people complaining about Dr. Porter prescribing them pain meds, they should probably take a good long look in the mirror. Recovery requires a person to make sure they are honest with their doctors (including dentists). Pain medication is necessary for many dental procedures. For those who cannot handle the 3-4 days worth of pills he prescribes without falling back into addiction, it would behoove you to be honest about this with your medical providers. Anyway, if you are looking for an HONEST, affordable(fairest around) dentist in Fountain Hills, look no further than Acute Dental.

Dr. Porter is a great employer and my personal dentist for over five years now. He is to the point, honest, and the most affordable around. If you appreciate no frills, fair-priced, dentistry from a skilled practitioner with 35+ years of experience, acute dental is the place to go!

I had a very difficult task for Dr Porter and I suspected that the procedure was going to be very uncomfortable. He and his assistant had me laughing which put me at ease. Honestly, Dr Porter performed the procedure and I can't remember any discomfort. :-) Thank you so very much, Your the BEST Richard

I give my highest recommendation to Dr. Porter and his staff...friendly, professional and knowledgeable, my experiences with Dr. Porter almost made going to the dentist fun. Dr. Porter is a fine oral surgeon, and all the work I had performed has turned out just perfectly... If you're looking for a skilled, personable, and fairly priced dentist, give Dr. Porter a call...you won't be disappointed...

Acute Dental and especially Dr. Porter earned this 5 star review by continuously providing excellent dental care. I will most definitely make Dr. Porter at Acute dental my go to Dentist for any and all dental needs! Great staff that make this finely tuned machine run on all cylinders

They got me in in less than a hours time when no other dentist could see me for days. I was so thankful for I need a root canal. The staff and doctor were comforting,knowable, and caring.

I've had dental work done for almost 40 years I have had work done by dr. Porter the last 4 years he has been efficient and does all the work himself including the cleanings very patient and accommodating. I have no dental insurance and he's always made it very affordable for me and my husband. I. Thank doctor Porter and his staff very much.
