Acuity Dental and Orthodontics is proud to be the Lowcountrys choice for comprehensive dental services. We provide general dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry all under one roof. We have a combined 30+ years of experience in dentistry and orthodontics, treating both adults and children. And, because we are family-owned and locally operated, we do not subscribe to quotas like many of the national chain dental corporations. We conduct a thorough examination and customize a treatment plan for each patient.
My hobby I spent the most time on in high school was art. Creating things on paper from a blank canvas allowed me to make beauty come alive that was once not there. Orthodontics lets me accomplish this on others. Someone sees me for the first time and wants to improve their smile, and with orthodontics I can do that. My greatest reward is seeing their confidence excel in front of my eyes; such a rewarding process for those both young and old.
I chose dentistry because I love people, science and art, and dentistry combines all three. I enjoy performing so many different procedures and services to help my patients smile. Personal care is important to me, which is why I only see and treat one patient at a time. This allows me to do my best work as a dentist while giving each patient the best possible care at a fair price.
Many patients over the years have become my friends. They know that I truly care about them and their dental health because I stay current with all the latest and most effective dental procedures and techniques and give them great results. They know they can rely on me for exceptional care and service, and that we wouldnt have lasted 70 years if we did anything less than the best that dentistry has to offer.
Dr. Tyler Alderman was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Alderman is passionate about helping others feel a greater sense of well-being and radiating confidence through oral health. It is his personal goal to establish close rapport with each and every patient by providing a strong level of communication and empathy. Dr. Alderman is married to his beautiful wife Brooklyn and together they have two adorable and energetic young boys. Outside of patient care, Dr. Alderman spends most of his time enjoying the outdoors with his family. Some of his favorite outdoor hobbies include fly fishing, boating and swimming.

Dr. Serra and his assistant Chelsea made my day. My treatment was fast and efficient! I will never need conscious sedation again. This was the absolute first time that I felt it wasn't necessary. The first time I've had pain free excellent care! And Chelsea was hilarious !!!!

MY OFFICE ROCKS! Knightsville location! I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS OFFICE 3 HUNDRED MILLION STARS! Amanda is my hygienist and I wouldn't have anyone else cleaning my teeth! Front Desk girls , Amy and Taylar are such warm faces to meet when you come in! Don't forget where the real magic happens with that Dr. Serra and his trusty assistant Chelsea and Kelly. They get the job DONE! If I could recommend this office to Elon Musk Or Beyonce I would. That's how confident I am in this office!

I visited the Orangeburg road location and was greeted with great smiles and attitudes! This was my first time to the dentist in years! Amanda took her time while cleaning my teeth, they haven't felt that clean in years! Arie was also great at explaining to me what treatment I needed and why I needed it as well. Those two are a great well oiled machine!

Had the worst experience here would not recommend. It wasn't until I became a dental assistant that I realized most of what they do here is wrong and also unsanitary. I constantly had a different orthodontist threw out the 2 years of treatment and after dental work was done left highly upset with the whole experience. I will definitely have to get braces or invasalin again and strongly encourage anyone considering this particular practice, to find a different orthodontist, as well as dental office.

Christine is an Angel. She's such a sweetheart and I can't express how much she's helped us. I have four kids and she took the time with each of them. My youngest is 10, and she was literally shaking because she was scared and did not know what to expect. And Ms. Christine came in like a Superhero and calmed all fears. God has really placed her in our lives. Thank you is not enough to say to this young woman.

Christine and Arianna always give me a great experience! From the beginning I felt comfortable and safe and it was more than great service. It was an EXPERIENCE to remember. I drive 30min to this office when I am closer to the goose creek office because it is worth every drive. I've driven from my school in Florence (2 hrs) just to come to these appointments during the school year and it's always been worth it at this office.and lastly but definitely not least, Amanda's playlist selection is fire!
