Having grown up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, theres no place quite like home. My venture into dentistry began as an undergraduate student at Baylor University in Waco, TX. I decided to start shadowing my mentor and fell in love with it. I felt a natural fit in a profession that I was passionate about.

I completed my dental training in 2013 at Baylor College of Dentistry, one of the most esteemed dental schools in the world. Dentistry isnt just a job for me its my passion. Theres nothing more rewarding than putting a smile on my patients face. A smile can change not only the demeanor of a person but also their state of mind, and Im fortunate to be a positive influence in this regard.

I took ownership of Active Dental Plano in October 2016. Being both an owner and the dentist has been very gratifying, and I take pride in attaining healthy, beautiful smiles for my patients. Im grateful to a part of the Plano community, impacting lives in a positive manner.

Being an elite provider and providing world-class dental service has and always will be my goal. By taking Continuing Education courses and being up to date with technology, Im able to provide exceptional care for all of my patients. With a team that shares my vision, we ensure that every patient receives outstanding service and feels right at home.

During my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I also love to workout and stay active. My hobbies include reading, traveling, and keeping up with Dallas sports. How bout them COWBOYS!

I became interested in dentistry in 1994. I earned my dental assisting certification and began working as a surgical assistant for a Periodontist. A few years later, I went back to school and earned my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene at TWU in 2003.

My role as a hygienist suits me well. I enjoy detail oriented work, helping people improve their lives through educating them on the health of their mouth, and making long lasting friendships with my patients.

Some of the things I love are being spontaneous and trying new things, being in the mountains, and painting on canvas and decorating. I am also a supporter of a World Vision child for the last 9 years.

The team at Active Dental Plano believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Active Dental Plano work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.
