Dr. Monks grew up in Southfield Michigan and graduated from Wayne State University in 1977. He attended the University of Dentistry and graduated in 1982. Dr. Monks is very skilled in many phases of general dentistry and has particular interest in the fields of adult orthodontics (Six Month Smiles), oral surgery and implant placement and restoration. He has participated in many continuing education courses through the University of Detroit-Mercy, the Engel Implant Institute and the Zimmer Institute in Carlsbad California. He is committed to the oral health and well-being of all of his patients and seeks to continue learning the latest dentistry has to offer.
Dr. Bartnik is a native of the east side of Detroit. She Attended the University of Detroit where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1979 with a degree in Biology. She aspired to become a dentist ever since a childhood experience with a kind oral surgeon convinced her that dental treatment need not be frightening. Dr. Bartnik fulfilled her dream of becoming a dentist upon graduation from the University Of Detroit School Of Dentistry in 1983.
Dr. Bartnik is an active member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Oakland County Dental Society and Macomb County Dental Society. She is a graduate of the Engel Implant Institute and has also been trained at the Zimmer Institute in Carlsbad California. She believes in providing patients with as many in office services as possible but works with a trusted network of specialists when need warrants. Dr. Bartnik focuses most of her continuing education in the two areas of endodontics (root canals) and implants.
Laurie has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for many years. She provides gentle but comprehensive oral hygiene and strives to make your visit enjoyable and comfortable. Laurie's many years of clinical experience allow her to tailor a treatment strategy that is best suited to your individual needs.

Dr. Bartnik has absolutely no patience for kids. Couldn't even stay in the room to explain the procedure of a filling to my eight year old who has never gotten one. Said "she's too old for this." "This" meaning dealing with kids so if you have them I suggest you find someone else to take them to. Completely unprofessional and rude.

Thank you soooo much! I had an extremely painful dental emergency... Despite covid and a booked schedule, they made room for me. I am completely pain free even several hours after the novacaine wore off. No medication needed!!!! Thank you!!!!!!

My experience at Ace is always great and this visit was no different. Emily was extremely nice and professional and did a great job cleaning my teeth. And of course Dr. Bartnik is always wonderful. That's why I've been coming there all these years and will continue to come there. All of you are 5 stars to me!

Great pain free Dentist. I have been going to Ace Dental Care for many many years and have never had a bad experience. The front office people are fantastic.
