Being a dentist and providing my patients with comprehensive care requires dedication, advanced training, and a passion for helping people change and improve their lives all while giving them the knowledge to make informed decisions about their treatment. It also gives me an opportunity to treat patients how I would hope to be treated in the same circumstances.
My profession is more than just a job to me. I have always been of the mindset that no one should work to live, much less live to work. I enjoy what I do as well as meeting so many new people as they come into our community and our practice. My personal goal is to be able to offer TRULY comprehensive care so that I can meet all of their needs.
Establishing relationships with my patients and watching how dentistry can change their lives is the most satisfying part of my profession. When you become a patient in our practice, you become part of our dental family. I graduated with honors from the Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences with a degree in clinical psychology. I completed my Doctorate in Dental Surgery at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and have been practicing dentistry since 1989.
Upon graduation, I knew I would never be happy doing only specific dental procedures, so I continue to expand my knowledge and training so I can offer new services and procedures every year. I have always loved school, so that goes hand-in-hand in this profession where staying current and keeping up with technology is so important.
I consider it to be my professional responsibility to be a continuous student in dentistry. My regular and frequent attendance at dental education courses around the country and throughout the world ensures that I remain current in the latest techniques and philosophies in my profession. By taking classes in many areas within the field of dentistry, I am able to offer many advanced dental services not normally found in a family practice. I also received advanced aesthetic training at The Center for Esthetic Excellence (Chicago) and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, of which I am a member.
Born and raised in Ohio, I now reside in Ashland, MA with my three dogs: Alexis, Sedona, and Snickers. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, golfing, reading, and working out. I am an avid bicyclist as well as a pond/marine aquarium enthusiast.
My passions include being an active member in my community. I am involved with organizations that promote animal welfare and rights, human rights and equality, and environmental and natural resource preservation. The charities to which I personally contribute include:
You will find our dental office located conveniently accessible to the surrounding communities of Milford, Franklin and Mendon. We want your dental experience to make you very comfortable. In addition to our oral sedation and anti-anxiety services, we also offer complimentary laughing gas (Nitrous Oxide gas) as a breathable anesthetic and for mild anxiety reduction. We also utilize therapeutic back, neck, leg and head pillows to improve your comfort in our dental chairs. We offer free Wi-Fi in our waiting room, and individual streaming online music while in our treatment rooms.
Our practice manager Jason is here to help with all YOUR scheduling, financial, and insurance needs. His primary responsibility is to make the most of your patient experience. Most often, he will be the first smiling face youll see when you come into the office and who you will speak with on the phone as he handles almost all patient concerns. Jason is always available to answer any question you may have and will do his best to make your time here as pleasant, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. Jason has been with Accent Dentistry for 23 years and has an amazing knowledge of dental insurance and dental procedures. He assists you with any needs or concerns. He will always try to provide the very best customer service available to ensure that you not only get an effective and excellent outcome from your treatment, but also enjoy your time in our office. One of his passions is making sure that dental insurance companies pay for covered services as promised and minimizing our patients out of pocket expenses. As such, he is a highly valued member of our team and his experience and skills are here for our patients use. He can also advise you on making the most of your flex spending and health savings accounts and when to prioritize treatment so as to make your financial undertaking as minimal as possible. The goal here at Accent Dentistry is to avoid surprise bills and expenses so everything is spelled out in writing and confirmed with your insurance prior to your visits; thereby minimizing unexpected costs. Jason is originally from New York, relocated here for college and law school; yet fell in love with the practice of dentistry resulting in him staying with this practice for over two decades.

I have not been to a dentist in years and currently am looking for one. I am sooo happy to see Dr. Bankhead's office still exists. I don't know if they accept my insurance so I might not be able to go, but after reading other reviews I am compelled to share: This establishment was by far the best experience I ever had at any dental office. They have an extremely calming atmosphere. At the time they had a rock formation with water cascading down in the waiting room. The dental procedure rooms had television screens with relaxing scenes of the ocean or other (I think it was VHS tapes, yes it's been a while lol) nature scenes of your choosing. Best of all they were non-judgemental. The young gentleman in reception was incredibly friendly and spoke in a soothing manner, as did Dr. Bankhead. I had broken half my front tooth out whilst on a vacation. I came home in complete panic. I tried a different dentist before these guys & walked out right before my procedure as the dentist was incredibly rude. I know I did not take greatest care of my teeth and am still not, but what a difference going to Accent was. NO JUDGEMENT. The repair to my front tooth was perfect. Most important to me was this office treated me so kindly I am still in disbelief, as I have seen other dentists since (due to insurance changes over the years), and NONE compare. Thank You Accent Dentistry for existing.

I've been going to Dr. Bankhead for a couple of years now. I'd consider myself a difficult patient. My dentist had passed away, and I needed a new one quickly when I chipped a back tooth. They got me in pretty quickly and then had to schedule the actual fix (it wasn't actually a chip, it was worse). As a difficult patient, it's hard for me to work with a dentist. But they have really been nice there helping me get over it. So after years, why am I writing a review now? Well I just got a reminder call for an appointment. But things are still wonky in the world, so I decided I'd rather postpone it until things are a bit normal. And the person that called me (Jason) then asked if I needed any PPE for shopping or anything. I had just canceled my appointment, but he offered to leave some outside for me if I needed it. It just struck me as so caring that my dentist and his staff was making sure I had something for regular life. I was all set, but I was thankful for the offer. It was just nice that in a crazy world, at least my dentist is normal and caring. Hopefully I can remake that cleaning appointment with them soon.

I am very grateful to have found Dr. Bankhead at Accent dentistry! I have terrible anxiety about going to the dentist and had not been seen by a dentist in over 15 years. I knew i would need a lot of work done. I called and scheduled an appointment and Jason was very nice and understanding of the anxiety i had. I needed 7 fillings and 2 abscess teeth pulled. I chose to have conscious sedation and I'm so glad i did. I was able to take care of 15 years worth of dental problems in 3 hours! Dr. Bankhead is very gentle and caring! I highly recommend him to anyone with fear of the dentist! Thank you accent dentistry !

Always always a professional experience with follow-up after the visit. Both my husband and I are and have been patients of this practice for 20 years plus. We have never had an issue or complaint with some very complicated procedures. On another note a friend from the Caribbean had a very complex issue which included bone replacement, crowns, and other issues I do not know. She travelled to a Boston for each of these procedures and never once had to be referred to another "specialist" as Dr. BANKHEAD is proficient in all denistry procedures.

Dr. Bankhead is such an awesome dentist. I still can't believe I never knew when he took my wisdom tooth out during my extraction procedure. Not a single crunching or cracking noise!!.. amazing!! I was so impressed with the whole staff who made that experience very comfortable for me. Believe me, I am surly afraid of any dental procedures. To just see the care that they have for their patients is pretty awesome! Even Tessa the hygienist was done with her patient and came in to help have things ready for Dr. Bankhead. Never seen that before!! What an awesome team! I really hope this review help people out there who are nervous about the dentist and want to set their mind at ease. Come visit the office for yourself to see what a professional, relaxing, and caring practice they are providing for you.

First time here. I LOVED my dental hygienist, Erin (I believe that's her name). She was full of knowledge and tips and gave me a wonderful cleaning. The gentleman at the front can work on his attitude. The dentist suggested a treatment and when I told the man in the front that I was going to wait until 2018 for it, he seemed pushy to get it done asap. He wasn't pleasant to deal with. Also, cleaning wasn't covered at 100% like every other 5 dentist out of network I have been to. So I would definitely go back to Erin for a cleaning and pay the extra out of pocket but find another dentist for any other procedure as they are over priced if you choose them as an out of network.

Jason was very patient with all of my questions, in person and on the phone. I never felt rushed. Dr. Bankhead is nice and gets the job done quickly. He is more matter-of-fact which, for me, is great because I don't like things sugar coated. The offices are very clean and comfortable. No complaints and highly recommend!
