Dr. Eric Burton obtained his doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. As a graduate of Mizzou and a diehard Tigers fan, Dr. Eric returned to Columbia in 2003 to begin practicing.
Not only is Dr. Burton dedicated to life long education, he is also an active member of several other organizations, such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association and the American Orthodontic Society.
Genuine, quality patient care is a fundamental part of Dr. Burtons practice, which means that we will take time to talk with you about the treatment options that best fit your unique circumstances. We want every patient to feel valued and appreciated after all, patient satisfaction is the key to our success.
Dr. White grew up in Columbia and attended the University of Missouri where she obtained her bachelors degree in Health Sciences with honors. She has a long history with the office, as she was an assistant at Accent Dental Center before attending dental school. Dr. White earned a Doctorate in Dental Medicine degree from A.T. Still University Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health. During her time there, she earned a certificate in public health with a dental emphasis. While completing clinicals in Saint Louis, Dr. White achieved awards in cosmetic dentistry, periodontics, and orofacial pain. With increasing technological advances, she also became proficient in digital scanning and the fabrication of same-day crowns utilizing CAD/CAM technology. Dr. White is involved in several dental organizations including the Missouri Dental Association, American Dental Association, and American Dental Education Association. She is very passionate about the field of dentistry and is dedicated to continually expanding her knowledge and skills.
Dr. Whites overall goal is to provide high-quality comprehensive care to her patients while leaving them with a positive experience at each visit. She is committed to taking the time to create a comfortable environment to establish a trusting, long-lasting patient-doctor relationship!
Dr. White is excited to be coming back to work in her home town and cheer on the Mizzou Tigers! In her free time, she enjoys traveling, going on day hikes, and spending time with her husband Houston and two dogs, Archie and Kona.
After completing his undergraduate work at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Dr. Pfitzinger graduated from St. Louis University School of Dentistry. Following two years as a general dentist in the U.S. Army, he completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at Marquette University and Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee. He then founded a multi-specialty group practice in St. Charles, MO, Family Dental Services, where he practiced for 25 years.
Dr. Pfitzingers practice for the last nine years has been focused exclusively on the emerging field of Dental Sleep Medicine, in which dental appliances give relief to patients with obstructive sleep apnea. These appliances can be used effectively to treat sleep apnea patients without the use of CPAP machines or surgically implanted devices. Dr. Pfitzinger works closely with his patients physicians in evaluating, fabricating, and monitoring oral appliances usage. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Heather is our practice administrator and one of our registered dental hygienists. She was raised about an hour south of St. Louis. She moved to Columbia in 1991 and graduated from the dental assisting program in 1992. She worked as a dental assistant for several years and found it to be very rewarding. She then completed her nursing degree and worked in the health care field for a short time, however, she missed dentistry.
Heather graduated from the Dental Hygiene program in St. Louis in May of 2003. She is dedicated to helping her patients care for their teeth and educating them of the correlation between oral and total body health.
I am one of our registered dental hygienists. I have been with Dr. Burton since 2006. In May 2005 I received an Associates degree in Dental Hygiene in St. Louis. I enjoy working with people and educating them about their oral health and its relationship to whole-body health. Dr. Burtons and my dedication to helping people prevent disease is just one of the reasons I love working here.
Olivia is one of our EFDAs here at Accent Dental Center. She has been here since 2010. I truly love coming to work each day to work with our amazing team. I love having the opportunity to interact with patients and learn so much about dentistry from Dr. Burton. My favorite part of this career is building the relationships we have with the people we care for.
I joined the team in 2017 as one of the office coordinators. I have over 15 years of customer service and medical field experience, so it is the perfect fit. I have a B.A. in biology and have a passion for conservation biology. In my spare time, I enjoy training competition and working dogs as well as volunteering at the local therapeutic riding center, where my personal horse is part of the therapy team.
My favorite thing about working here at Accent Dental Center is being able to make a positive difference with all the patients and the community. I love being able to make a personal connection with each and every person that walks through our door. It is truly an honor to be able to help our patients!
My name is Kim, I am very excited to be back to the Accent Dental team as one of Dr. Burtons awesome assistants! I graduated from Nichols Career Center with my expanded functions and dental assisting certification in 2004. I fell in love and realized this is what makes me happy. My dental passion has continued to grow over the years and I was lucky enough to work for Dr. Burton for several years prior to having my sweet little boy. Im just a small-town girl who enjoys spending time outdoors with my family! Dr. Burton is one of the best dentists I have worked within my career and I couldnt wait to get back here because of the great people on our team and the amazing patient we have. Hi! My name is Lexi and I am a registered dental hygienist here at the office. I have been in the dental field since 2003 and have loved every moment! I enjoy helping people, so I believe this field has always been my calling. If Im not here at the office, Im spending my time with my friends and family or traveling to one of my many favorite places. I am very excited to join this amazing team and meet all my new patients!
My name is Lacy and I have been in the dental field since 2007. I am from a tiny town in Kansas (dont hold that against me!) where I have raised my son the past 12 years. I have had an interest in dentistry since I was 10 years old, always begging my childhood dentist to teach me everything! I guess I bugged him so much that he ended up giving me my very first dental assisting job. I could not be more excited about dentistry and where my career is taking me working with Dr. Burton and our awesome team. I am 100% dedicated to Accent Dental Center and our patients and I look forward to my future here.

Attentiveness, professionalism, and quality of service has been in decline since I first transferred to this office. I have even referred others here about a year ago, and they had bad experiences, and I had hoped it was a 1 off, however my past few visits have been poor, and now even my childs care has suffered. They say they are experiencing staffing issues, so apparently the problems are systemic. I will be looking for a new provider now.

Dr. Burton and the whole crew at Accent Dental do a phenomenal job! They are super professional and have kept my teeth in great health. My wife and I both go and couldn't be more pleased. I went in for the first time about 6 years ago. At that time I had not been to the dentist in quite some time. They were able to help me bounce back from some bad habits and got my teeth in great help. They were even able to help curb and reverse some recession that I had in my gums. Can't say enough about them and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Went in for my 1st cleaning in my life. (Because I'm a pansy when it comes to pain in my mouth). Everyone is super friendly and made me comfortable. The procedure went great. The needle felt tiny lol, and was relatively pain free. My teeth/gums had some hot/cold sensitivity the next day but after that feel better than I can remember. Looking forward to my next cleaning now!

Do not waste your time or money on this place. Shelby is office mgr and she is very rude and Condescending. She lied to me and told me they were gonna give me something for pain for my broken wisdom tooth and tooth next to it that needs a full root canal but after she took my money she comes back and says sorry we can't fill your pain medication your just gonna have to deal with the pain And refused to let me speak to the doctor after I paid them which is why I paid them was to see the doctor smh! Evil non compassionate people that are money hungry liars!!!

I have usually found that they are ready to start work with me at the scheduled time. The friendly and competent staff tend to my unfortunately frequent dental care needs efficiently. My only gripe is that I can't join in to the interesting conversations around me because of all the dental implements in my mouth.

I went today for a broken tooth. I have always been afraid of going to a dentist. They were so kind and caring. I have never felt more at peace . I would strongly recommend Accent Dental. Everyone is so kind and caring. You will not regret going. You will actually look forward to going back. Thank You Staff. Your the best.

I had a lot of dental issues that needed addressing along with my fear and anxiety of dentists and procedures. This is a awesome professional office from beginning to end in dealing with me. They cared, they went out of their way to make me comfortable and I went from having to have some one come with me to being able to go on my own for my procedures. These people are totally professional, proficient and they actually cared about me and helping me get the dental workni needed done of I could give them more than 5 starts I would and most definitely will be back and highly recommend them. Dr. White and the staff at Accent Dental have been amazing! I've needed a lot of dental work for a while from a life of not taking care of my teeth. I've had 4 extractions, several fillings, a crown and root canal, all with Dr. White. Honestly, the worst pain I've felt while in the dentist chair is the barely mentionable Novocain needle. From there it's pretty smooth sailing. I even combined the crown/root canal into one appointment and it still wasn't a bad experience! The front desk staff and hygienists have been great as well, always answering questions I have and explaining anything I don't understand. Highly recommended!!

Dr. Burton and his team worked quickly to make sure my 10 year old son got his smile back quickly after breaking his front teeth in a fall. I felt completely comfortable with him in their care. The repair they made was beautiful and he was perfectly comfortable when he walked out. The online forms made it easy to check in and check out, and payment was a breeze, especially because we had an estimate for our treatment plan beforehand. We will definitely be returning for our pediatric and adult dental needs. Thank you so much to the Accent Dental team!

Wow! Had an emergency visit as a new patient today and was extremely pleased with ALL the staff from Shelby making my appointment and answering all my questions via phone, OMG Lacey is the best ever dental assistant I have ever had and I have has many over the years, to Dr. White, who was very knowledgeable, kind , and gentle. The whole process was such a great experience and much more comfortable than my old dentist. Everyone was so kind and polite, which is something you don't see often. I am so pleased and look forward to many years of dental care with the Accent family
