One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a dentist was here with Dr Oberly. He started root canal on a tooth that had no pain or problem whatsoever. Long story short he was unable to finish the root canal he had started after 4-5 visits and recurring infection. Eventually an endodontist saved the tooth.

They kept making appointments with me and canceled 20 minutes before the appointment every time saying that they are understaffed. This happened 5 or 6 times. Avoid this place if you want to get anything done!

Avoid this place like the plague ! This place is extremely understaffed, and the dentists are rude, condescending and have terrible bedside manners. They constantly keep canceling your appointment, They canceled my appointment 30 minutes before I was scheduled. When I called and asked why they canceled they said the doctor decided not to come in today. Don't waste your time here !

Without a doubt the absolute worst dentist experience I have ever had. Over 3 years to do an implant that still has not been completed. Also had a root canal that took months to complete. Very unorganized and they do not know what they are doing. I have had appointments where I just sit in chair for 30+ minutes and I have to get up and ask what is going on. They indicated they cannot find something. Then reschedule me only to keep me in waiting room for 40 plus minutes. They show no respect for a patients time. There are many other better dentist in Ithaca that one can choose.

I had an appointment there this afternoon. None of the office staff wear masks. They do have a spit guard and there is a door between there and the office however, when seated 2 of the 3 office staff are exhaling directly under the spit guard, and the door to their office is constantly being opened and closed. I was told by one of the dentists that the health dept had come in and it was all on the up and up. I can NOT believe that they were unmasked when inspected. She basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about and was incredulous. I understand wearing a mask all day is uncomfortable, but in a medical setting it is entirely inappropriate and not in keeping with CDC guidelines I read while sitting in waiting room. Clearly they are not concerned with the image they present to their patients.

Please listen to the other reviews. I have literally never had a negative dental experience before coming here and having my time wasted. Called in and was told they could fix my bridge no problem, went in the next day, waited for half an hour and was chastised by the dentist and in the most unsettling environment, to be told to come back in 5 hours so they could clean it. Returned and they hadn't done a thing after I had to call out of work to match their schedule, and all they told me was to come back tomorrow. In the time that they left me with a hole in my mouth I scheduled another appointment with Integrative Oral Health and got one immediately for the next day. Please save yourself the time

Worst dentist I've ever seen. Charged for a lot of procedures that I didn't realize were done. If you want to be surprised when you get a bill, go for it.

I agree with the comment below..."The perfect dentist for unnecessary procedures." Avoid this dentist! Many completely unnecessary, surface level "cavities" were filled (confirmed by my current dentist as well; also my father in-law who is a retired dentist). Many of these fillings are now all falling out, among other issues. This is one of the only dentists in town that accepts Cornell's student/graduate student dental insurance program. I won't go into additional terrible details, but it is much better to pay a little more (or just the same really) out of pocket and go to other dentists in town.

The perfect dentist for unnecessary procedures. At my second visit I was told I had superficial cavities that needed to be filled. I had them filled. Third visit I was told my teeth and gums were excellent. Fourth visit (6 months later) I somehow had superficial cavities again that needed filling. I asked the hygienist how that could be, and she suggested they might have developed that way. From that I saw two possible scenarios. 1, the dentist is incompetent because he missed these cavities at the first visit or 2, he is full of it. I never went in to have them filled. It has now been ~4 years since that experience. My new dentist tells me every time I have perfect oral hygiene. X-rays are perfect and there is no sign of decay. Clearly I am still bitter. I hope no one else has to experience the BS from this practice.

Everyone is incredible - from the front desk staff (Deb and Shavonne) to the dental assistants. Dr. Peterson takes the time to explain procedures and options and does so with care and compassion.

I had several cavities filled and a root canal and crown done here. It's been a year since my last operation, and the dental work has held up well. Dr. Oberly even scheduled a session on an off-day, on his birthday even, working around my schedule. His direct manner is reassuring, though maybe a bit jarring if you're not expecting it. I paid more than I was expecting to, though. For the root canal and crown, they asked me to float $4000 for them while they processed the insurance claim, and I eventually got $2000 of that back 3 months later.

Without explanation a day started root canal. No estimate paper at all. Because Doctor planed that I was told . I'm going to sue them. Not recommended . Dentist should use root canal specialist . I have gum issue now , poetry upsetting
