Dr. Giron actually grew up wanting to be a marine biologist! However, she realized once she was in college and working on research that she craved a career that would allow her to have more direct interaction with other people. Her now sister-in-law introduced her to the dental field, and she was immediately hooked. She loved that it allowed her to help others while also working so much with her hands on a day-to-day basis.
Dr. Giron completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of New Mexico before pursuing her doctorate at the University of Missouri Kansas City. She knew that she always wanted to come back to New Mexico to work in Public Health and serve those in need following her schooling, which is what she did for nine years before coming to ABQ Wholistic Dentistry. Today, she takes over 60 hours of continuing education each year in order to elevate her clinical skills even further. She is particularly interested in occlusion, whole-mouth reconstruction, and addressing the root cause of dental problems instead of just treating them at the surface level. Dr. Giron is married to her high school sweetheart and has a young daughter, as well as two Mini Schnauzers. She loves learning in her spare time, especially about health and nutrition! Other hobbies include being with her loved ones, fly fishing, traveling, and cooking.
Christina attended the Southwest Health Career Institute for her education and also has advanced training in E4D and Invisalign. Today, she has been working in dentistry for nearly 15 years, most of which were spent right here at our dental office. She loves spending time with the other team members throughout each day.
Moraya is the newest member of our dental family, but she already thinks all of her coworkers and the patients themselves are amazing. As for her education, she studied at the American Institute of Dental Assisting.
At home, Moraya is married with a daughter and a son. She spends her free time outside of work doing crafts, journaling, and scrapbooking. An interesting fact about her: her nickname was Meatloaf when she was a baby because of her weight!
Deirdres career in the dental field spans over 25 years so far. She earned her education from the University of New Mexico. She is lucky to have a very caring, supportive, and loving family at home. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and keeping up with fitness.

This is done through a common procedure known as scaling and root planing. Scaling is the process of removing plaque from areas not typically accessible via traditional brushing, flossing, or professional cleanings. This works to prevent future damage of gum tissue. Root planing is the process of smoothing out the tooth roots to promote healthy reattachment to the gums.
