Dr. Davidson has been practicing in El Dorado County since 1990. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from University of the Pacific's School of Dentistry. Since earning his degree, he has devoted thousands of hours to continuing education courses so that he can provide innovative, quality care for his patients.
Even outside Above the Gate Dentistry, Dr. Davidson is always working hard and helping othershe seems to find endless projects that need to be done. When he does make time to have some fun, he spends it hiking, boating, snowboarding, motorcycle riding, and going on epic adventures with his wife, five kids, and recently born grandchildren. His team loves his amazing work ethic!
Dr. Tuttle became a partner in the practice in 2004 after receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from University of the Pacific's School of Dentistry. As a technology enthusiast, he loves to stay up on everything that's new from evaluating dental instruments and products to advising and teaching labs and other dentists. Most of his time, Dr. Tuttle spends working diligently to keep the teeth of El Dorado County happy and healthy by using predictable techniques and advanced equipment.
Outside of the office, he loves finding adventures to share with his friends and family, especially when those adventures include hiking to local waterfalls! His team loves having his thorough and ambitious personality at our office!
Dr. Brock has joined our practice in 2019 after studying with the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry (same school as above, with a new name). El Dorado County has a special place in his heart, and he is very glad to be back from the big City to serve his hometown. Dr. Brock has recently participated in elite, up-to-date hands-on training of dental techniques and technology, and he is ready to bring his expertise and hard-working attitude here to Above the Gate Dentistry. He is an excellent husband and an engaged father of two boys. Please help us welcome Dr. Brock!
Shaunty has a favorite part about being in dentistry: The connection that she makes with clients and coworkers. She also loves surprises...enough that she didn't even find out the gender of her first baby that arrived summer of 2021! She'll be glad to show you pics of her beautiful little girl.
Sierra can really do it all! You might see her as you walk in the front door, she may show up at the chair to help the doctors, and she is always running the whole show, behind the scenes. She is an excellent resource if you have questions about dental benefits, or about what the heck the doctor just said. She welcomed her first son in the summer of 2021!
Lianne has a demeanor that will make you feel at home as soon as you walk into the office. Lianne has played softball since she was 8 years old. She is an excellent resource if you have questions about dental benefits or how to easily afford a grand slam smile!
Abby may be young, but she's a quick learner. She's already an excellent source of help and knowledge to her clients and to our ATG team. Growing up on a farm gave her a great work ethic and a fondness for animals.
Christina has an excellent 'green thumb' and an eye for plants. Although green things can be the best of friends, she also appreciates the opportunities she has every day to work one-on-one helping people with their health and their smile.
Lindsay has a smile that will light up your visit to our office. She is also an excellent golfer and instructor, and she will coach you through making the most of your dental benefits, keeping your smile healthy, and maybe some tips on your backswing.
Layne grew up in El Dorado County, and she was happy to return after studying business in college and managing properties and restaurants in Idaho. You might not see her every day at the office, but she is one of the remote lifelines that help us provide excellent care for you and for our employees.
Shannonis a local cowgirl and we are lucky to have her as one of our great hygienists. She is a repeat world-champion quarter-horse rider, and she brings her dedication to excellence to every smile she encounters.
Robhas talents that surface in many ways. He is a talented professional musician, and his knowledge and skill in dentistry is unmatched. He loves meeting new people and getting to know the clients at ATG.
Haleighis one of the main reasons that things are running so smoothly around here. Her ability to keep us organized and her attention to detail is appreciated by all. Now if only she could figure out how to fix her dirt bike!
Madisonhas become an expert in patient comfort and safety. She has a myriad of talents - dentistry and sign language among them. When you're comfortably numb and need to communicate, you know who to talk to!

I had to have a very extensive dental procedure done and needed a doctor that could do the dentist portion of the process. After reviewing doctors in my area I found Dr. Tuddle and Above the Gate Dentistry that had great reviews and worked regularly with the dental surgeon that I wanted to use. Dr. Tuddle performed the initial examination and pre-surgery work that needed to happen (i.e. temporary denture, etc.) along with the referral to the surgeon I needed. After months of planning and saving for this expensive procedure I went under the knife and had teeth pulled and implants installed. At the time of the surgery I then used the temporary denture for the duration of the healing process. I should also note that Dr. Tuddle is so caring toward his patients that I had a semi-emergency when I got some drying silicon gel attached to the stitches from the surgery. I couldn't remove the denture without pulling out the stitches and it was very painful. It was after hours and he said come into the office right now and I'll fix it for you. I came in and he was able to get the stitches off the silicon and I was saved from the pain of having to wait all night to do it the next day. Thanks again Dr. Tuddle. Once healed I had the implants exposed and the posts put in to hold the denture secure. Going back to Dr. Tuddle at ATGD he then continued the process to form the final denture that would attach to the implant posts. This process was quick and easy as ATGD uses high tech computer imagery to get the impressions of your teeth and bite. The days of hardening gel creeping down the back of your mouth/throat as it dries, are over. The imagery was then sent off to the lab and within a week I had the new permanent denture ready. Dr. Tuddle then went through the process of mounting the retainer cups for the implant posts and getting it to fit just right. After a few more visits for final adjustments we were done and the results are absolutely amazing. The procedure that I had was a upper overdenture. Which required full upper arch teeth removal with the installation of, in my case, six implants that would finally retain the denture in place without the need for gums or adhesive. Like I said, the results were absolutely amazing to me. For someone who grinded their teeth down and who hasn't had a good smile for 20+ years...I now have a smile that is just amazing. Not only that, but the plethora of dental issues that I had with my upper teeth are gone (obviously, I don't have them anymore) and the retained denture works so well I hardly ever know I'm wearing it. I can tear open packages with my teeth and don't fear them flying out of my mouth (as is not unusual with classic dentures) and can eat everything I always ate from steak to even gum. I actually don't even realize I'm wearing them most of the time. Thank you Above the Gate Dentistry. One other procedure I had was a lower crown replacement and again, they got the impression for my crown by taking imagery of my teeth and bite and then plugging that data into their own crown milling machine that actually milled my replacement crown while I waited. After it was made Dr. Tuddle came back in and placed the crown and remarkably, it worked perfectly. He didn't even have to make a single bite adjustment because the technology they used was so accurate. I've never had a crown prepped, made and installed in one visit within a few hours. Again, absolutely amazing! Finally, I found the staff, assistants, hygienists and everyone else that works at ATGD to be pleasant, caring and personable. They have TVs in every exam room with available ear phones so that you can enjoy a show or movie while you get your teeth worked on. But honestly, I find talking to the Dr. and staff much more pleasant than watching the movies, but the option is there if you want it. So yes, I highly recommend Above the Gate Dentistry for your dental needs.

First of all, I highly recommend coming here for dental work. They have two offices, one in Diamond Springs and the other in El Dorado Hills. This review however, is for Dr. Tuttle. A friend of mine chipped her two front teeth on a camping trip and did not have a current dentist in the area. Dr. Tuttle not only spoke on the phone with her and reassured her, he was able to squeeze her in early the very next day to make sure it was resolved as quickly as possible. I am so grateful to him and his team!

I know I am in good hands with both the Doctors hygienists and staff. There prices are comparable and they have good incentives. Their work is where they shine. It's great! We are lucky to have them here in diamond springs.

I can not tell you how much I appreciate Above the Gate Dentistry! We had been shopping around for quite awhile for a dentist locally after our long time dentist retired. We tried a couple other providers with horrible outcomes. On recommendation we tried Above the Gate. Their office staff was AMAZING to say the least (getting previous records and xrays etc) and my husband actually likes Dr. Brock very much (surprised by this because of previous try's) . If you're looking for someone local I highly recommend them!

I have done research about my procedure, and felt really nervous, but after discussing everything with the doctor I found that there may be some alternatives for me, it really made me feel good knowing that. Dr. Tuttle took the time to show me everything explain everything to me and I walked away feeling a lot more relieved. All the staff members were super nice too

Really like the professionalism of all the staff at the diamond Springs location! I love that crowns can be made in office and you leave the same day with your permanent crown! Great up-to-date services! I've had good experience with the treatment plans they provide and the billing details.
