About Dental Care - General dentist in Saint George, UT

Hello, Ive been in dentistry over 18 years. Love it! I love taking care of our patients at About Dental Care with Dr. Alldredge. Its nice to see our dental family around town. I moved to St. George from Orange County, California, and was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, so we picked St. George to land. My husband and I have adjusted well here in between our families.

I work at About Dental Care with Dr. Alldredge, and I really enjoy being part of this practice. I truly love my patients and enjoy getting to know each one. Ive been a dental hygienist for over 20 years now and have been in the dental field since 1990. I graduated in 1997 as president of my dental hygiene class at CCSN in Las Vegas, NV. I was blessed to receive an award with a scholarship for being the most outstanding student in my dental hygiene program. Educating and connecting with my patients is of the utmost importance to me. My hope is that they will learn the skills to keep their mouths as healthy as possible. I am a single mother of four amazing children who help keep my life balanced and busy. As often as possible, I make time to travel and have fun seeing the world and meeting new people. My other passions include drawing, hiking, boating and enjoying the outdoors with my friends and family. Im lucky in life and blessed to be part of this amazing dental office.

The team at About Dental Care believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at About Dental Care work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater St. George area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at About Dental Care can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

Determining which dental issues require a trip to an emergency dentist may be difficult. If you are unsure, this article highlights certain indications to watch out for. In more critical circumstances, delaying the visit to the dentist by a day or even a few hours might be the difference between keeping or losing a tooth. The

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, dental offices are now open for only emergency dentistry care. Emergencies do not require prior notice. The dental filling undergoes improvements every year, and increases in its longevity are becoming more common. However, despite advances, dental fillings have a limited lifespan, beyond which they begin to deteriorate. As a result, it is essential to be aware of the indicators of filling failure. When your dental filling begins to fail, you should

Few people realize how many common teeth issues can be addressed by a cosmetic dentist. Whether it is a feature of the appearance or trouble with biting and chewing, patients can find restorative and aesthetic treatments in cosmetic dentistry. This area of work focuses on improving an individuals tooth aesthetics in regards to position, shape,

At About Dental Care, we provide clear braces throughout the St. George area. Straight teeth are important for your overall oral health. When teeth are crooked, they can become stained and infected more easily. By straightening teeth, we can improve your appearance and decrease the risk of getting cavities at the same time. We can also address issues that you may have with your jaw by aligning your bite. Clear braces are truly a comprehensive way and discreet way to address oral health concerns.

We understand that while many people want to have straighter teeth, many teens and adults are uncomfortable with the traditional metal braces on their teeth for more than one year. While they are not as discreet as people wish, metal braces are an effective tool for straightening teeth. The procedure works by placing a metal bracket onto the surface of each tooth and running a wire through those brackets. It is impossible not to notice when someone is wearing traditional metal braces. While the treatment works, it can also negatively impact a persons' appearance while doing so. This has led many people to seek out a better option, one that we provide.

At About Dental Care, we offer clear alternatives for adults and teens the greater St. George area. We can straighten teeth and move them into the perfect position so the patient has a beautiful and radiant straight smile. If you have crooked teeth, unsightly gaps between your teeth or a misaligned bite, then we can help to correct these issues and more. Clear braces work just as effectively as metal braces but with some major improvements. Clear braces are much more difficult to notice, making them ideal for busy professionals, teens and those that do not want to negatively impact their current appearance during the process.

There are several types of clear and barely visible options to choose. One operates similarly to traditional metal braces where we place a bracket onto each tooth and thread a wire between the brackets. The difference is that instead of being made out of metal, the brackets for clear braces consists of a tooth-colored resin that blends in with the natural tooth. The wire is also tooth-colored so that the braces themselves are almost invisible and difficult to see. We find that this solution works well for teens and adults that are able to practice proper dental hygiene with the clear braces. Otherwise, food can stain the brackets. This solution is an excellent alternative to traditional braces and is just as effective at addressing all oral health concerns.

Clear braces also come in the form of aligners. Clear aligners look like a full retainer that surrounds the teeth and are worn on the upper and lower teeth. Aligners are more convenient to wear than metal braces since patients can remove them when necessary. One of the major concerns that people have with wearing braces is that they do not come off until the treatment is complete. If, for example, you get braces then decide to get married, you will either have braces in your wedding pictures or need to pay to remove them and reinstall them after. Simultaneously, if you have a big presentation at work and want to impress a client, your braces cannot come off for the meeting. This leaves many adults apprehensive about committing to a two-year treatment plan. We understand that appearance is important for more than vanity. It impacts your ability to create a professional image and retain your own self-image. As a St. George provider of clear braces and aligners, we make it so that you do not have to compromise your appearance or lifestyle while straightening teeth; aligners are a key component of that.

We treat both teens and adults and understand that both can benefit from similar treatment options. While children may not be able to wear clear braces, teens can wear clear braces if they take proper care of them. The main difference between clear braces for teens and adult braces, is that teens may need to use their aligners for a longer period of time. With such a busy schedule, we expect teens to remove their aligners more frequently to do things like play sports.

Teeth whitening kits are available for purchase at supermarkets, pharmacies, and online, and many patients assume these kits are equivalent to the teeth whitening provided by a qualified cosmetic dentist. However, as professionals who have completed dental school as well as extensive training in shaping, whitening, and upgrading patients entire smiles, cosmetic dentists are able

A chipped tooth usually occurs because of some sort of trauma, such as a fall or a blow to the mouth. It can also occur because of biting down on a substance that is too hard. If your tooth is decayed, a chip is more likely, but it can also happen to perfectly healthy teeth.Unless

I'm from out of state and I had my wisdom teeth scheduled to be pulled next month in California, but after eating something today my upper left wisdom tooth which had a cavity just broke! It being a Saturday nobody was open except About Dental Care who saw me two hours later. The staff was so friendly and explained things very well. After looking at x-rays and assessing, they made sure I was okay with extraction and Dr. Alldredge did it quickly and painlessly! Best part is it ended up being less expensive than what they initially quoted me (since it didn't need to be done surgically). I'm so grateful they were able to get this done the same day and I highly recommend them!

My husband cracked his wisdom tooth on a Saturday and this was the only dentist we can find who could get us in for an emergency extraction. All of the staff was so friendly and Dr. Alldredge was so informative and explained everything he was doing and why. Definitely recommend and would go here again!

I was here to do the St.George 70.3 triathlon race. The day before my race my filling popped out. With all the stress that I was under already, I really didn't want to have to deal with this. But this dental office was amazing at getting me in the same day before my race! Yay! I was just thrilled. I had a great experience and I know you will too. I highly recommend this dental office!

My family and I have been going to About Dental Care since we moved to St. George 6 years ago. My husband couldn't take time off from work during the day for a dental visit so we found About Dental Care that was open on Saturdays. We have loved that they are available on a Saturday which most dental offices are not! Dr. Alldredge and the hygienists that have cleaned my teeth are always very friendly. They are very informative and helpful in describing all of your options. I feel like they have my best interest at heart as far as my teeth's health goes. We are lucky to have found such a great dental office! Thank you About Dental Care!

Bryce Allldredge & Staff went above and beyond to take care of my dad which is 80 yrs old and terrified of the dentist. They were kind and comforting and found the best way to take care of his needs without being so evasive. My dad kept raving all the way home how great they were.
