Dr. Ryan Max Johnson is a General Dentist with a practice limited to the removal of wisdom teeth, placement of implants, and IV sedation. Dr. Johnson completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific dental school in San Francisco, CA.
Following dental school, Dr. Johnson completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in the United States Air Force. It was in this residency where he gained the needed training to perform such complex dental procedures as placement of dental implants and extraction of wisdom teeth. Because of this extra training, he is also certified to perform Oral and IV sedation. Dr. Johnson is currently a faculty member for Western Surgical and Sedation, teaching other dentists what he loves, taking out wisdom teeth!
When hes not working, Dr. Johnson loves spending time with his beautiful wife and3 amazing children. He enjoys racing motorcycles all across Texas and the United States as well as being outdoors as much as he can.

The whole staff really took care of me and comforted me through the whole process as I was feeling overly nervous about having all 4 wisdom teeth removed. They were also able to squeeze me in the very next day (on a Saturday!) after my consult. They also had several financing options available to help manage the cost of this procedure. Thank you to everyone at Abilene Dental Care and especially to the nurse who had to wheel me out completely unconscious.

Dr.Max definitely did an outstanding job! He explained everything and was so kind and patient. I am beyond grateful for everything he and his assistant Rai did to calm my nerves and get me through my procedure! I can't thank you all enough!

I had a bad experience in college and it haunts me still. But, Dr. Max did such a good job that my fear is almost gone. Getting a tooth pulled is no fun, but I felt at ease the whole time and am recovering beautifully. It was a great experience.

I highly recommend Dr. Ryan Johnson and his staff as your go to for oral surgery. The staff is amazing and Dr.Johnson is amazing at his profession. I was a bit anxious being that I've never had any type of surgery before but it couldn't of gone smoother. Taylor was very helpful and made me feel really comfortable in the operatory. Abilene Dental Care and Abilene Wisdom teeth are a great family oriented practice and I highly recommend them for any dental needs.

An awesome place, great team, They see my whole family, so convenient, great with kids. My son had his wisdom teeth taken out, they did a great job with him and called to check on him the next day. The doctors are awesome too!!

I had three wisdom teeth extracted. I was very pleased with how kind and caring the staff and oral surgeon were. They even brought my Husband in to meet the oral surgeon and he explained what he would be doing. The day after my extinctions the staff called to check on me to make sure I was doing good. I am going back to visit the orthodontist. I would most definitely recommend this place. You will be treated like they have know you forever. Keep up the Great work!

After waiting for 2 hours, I was finally called back for my wisdom tooth extraction. I was told that if the oral sedative wasn't enough, I'd be given the IV sedative as well... and when I tried to tell them I was perfectly aware of everything and felt EVERYTHING during the procedure... they told me to be quiet and slow my breathing, to stop trying to communicate. No additional sedative was administered. Despite my allergy chart that says I'm allergic to NSAIDs... they told me to take ibuprofen. They said they'd call in an antibiotic... they didn't, and I spiked a high fever. If I could give 0 stars I would. I highly recommend AGAINST going here! It was the worst dental experience I've ever had.

Very proffesional staff. Procedure went great! I have very minimal swelling and Dr. Max did a phenomenal job! Highly recommend!

Daughter had wisdom teeth extracted and was taken care of professionally and with compassion and care. Everyone was friendly and helpful before during and after visit. They followed up next day to make sure she was doing well. I recommend them to anyone and everyone!
